I think Mother Nature is as calendar-challenged as I am :lol23: It was colder than normal for all of August, especially the last weeks. Now it's September and we are having typical August weather. HHH. With extra on the Humid. I feel awful for all of the kids and teachers back in school. Especially the teachers since at least the kids can wear shorts. They must be melting.

How was your Wednesday? I love the new dishwasher. Not that I care about the appliance itself but that I don't have to wash everything by hand is awe-some. I started to put away some of the summer decorations-- little bowls of shells, some summer candles- last week when it was cold. I finished that up yesterday but when it is 90* and 90% humidity, it felt wrong to even *think* about Autumn scented candles. I am hosting the September/October b-day bash on Oct 1 so I'll have the house semi-decorated for Halloween but not just yet ;)
Last night we played one of the kookiest board games. It's so confusing and I try to follow a strategy but I think the point of the game is that there isn't one. You move around a bunch of characters, and then more characters move, and then more characters move.

I have to pick up groceries this morning and I have a dentist appt this afternoon. All four of us will be here for dinner so Gary is making penne and vodka. yummmmm.
I want to get some scrapping done and some housework and that's about it.

Wishing all of you the best of days!

@vickyday How was your day, did you get all of the errands done? Is Carolyn back home now? I hope that she is feeling lots better.
Caitlyn's doing OK. She knows that rats don't live long and she loves them 100% when she has them. Now she'll love and spoil Squirrel and Badger even more.♥

@LSlycord That's fantastic news that Syd is feeling better already Yay!! How are her classes and professors this semester, will she like them all? Or most of them at least? I hope that Shaun is off to a great start too. That is interesting to have a Fall semester but with 8-week courses. Tell him good luck!

@BrightEyes You know I am not gonna judge you at all for mixing up your days. :giggle4:
I hope that your appt was good and that you had a nice visit with DD#3.

@taxed4ever Isn't it frustrating when a LO takes for-EVER to do? I find that they take longer and longer lately and I am not sure why.
hahah! I get lost in the shop too, and in this last HAPS issue, I pored over the inspiration pages for a really long time.
Nope, no sign of Scott's wallet. He is home today so I guess he'll be figuring out how to get the stuff replaced. It's gonna be a nightmare for him.
Hope you had a wonderful hike!

@tanteva You crack me up! That ketchup mess would never happen in your house. You'd never let that many bottles pile up, you'd put them all over your spaghetti first

@Cherylndesigns You know that my heart is breaking for you and your family. It is devastating to get that kind of news about your pets. And yet, we keep doing it to ourselves, loving them so much. How can we not?
The Laps of Love sounds like an amazing organization.
Oh man, I can't keep typing.... I am getting teary and messy, and my heart hurts. So much love and support to you all

I meant to mention yesterday I am glad you got your new dishwasher installed! I've started running mine every night whether or not it is full. I like to throw extra things in there that don't always get washed, like jewelry trays and other items from the bathroom and bedrooms. There are porcelain sinks in the kitchen so I have rubber mats in the bottom of the sinks. I throw those in about once a week and we have a septic tank so I have strainer in the sink drains that I throw in at least once a week depending on how much cooking I actually do ;) Stuff like that.

Yes, got everything done and more! Carolyn seems to be doing ok but can't wait to get back home.
Glad Caitlyn is doing ok! It's always hard to lose a beloved pet!

Good morning!
Had a busy day with Ilene yesterday. I left the house a little later than I planned because I wanted the laundry to finish washing and rinsing because it was one of those loads that has a tendency to become off balance and cause the washer drum to bounce and bang!

Anyway, that threw everything off a bit. We had a good visit with Carolyn who is ready to go home. The family thought she was going to have physical therapy to strengthen her legs but they don't have therapy for people in respite care. Sounds like the family was misled or didn't understand what was going to happen...to the tune of $2,000 per week! Yikes!

After we left Carolyn we went to Olive Garden, then to COSTCO. Next was a stop at Sally's Beauty supply. Then, on the way home, Ilene was talking about the week she had diarrhea for 4 days about 3 weeks ago when she had to....Well, I won't get too graphic. Let's just say that it was a bad case and she had lots of laundry that week. And since then her bottom has been raw. I told her we needed to stop by her primary care doctor and get it checked out asap! Turns out she did have a UTI. He prescribed antibiotics and a healing salve. I'm taking her 2 hours away to a widows' retreat next week so I knew she needed to get the problem under control before then. The retreat is sponsored by the same church that hosts the widows' meetings every month from October through May. I'm so glad the doctor was able to get her right in!

Since we ate lunch late, I wasn't really hungry for supper. I fixed BLTs for Mark plus he ate the rest of my chicken parmigana from lunch.

Mark had his 3-month checkup with his doctor to check his sugar. The medicine she put him on last time didn't make any difference so she has put him on "O-O-O-Ozempic" (I can't say it without singing the commercial, lol). It is a once-a-week shot and has the potential to make him nauseous, which it did, poor guy. He got sick about 12:30 a.m. But was ok for work.

So, yesterday was an eventful day.

Today I got up at 7:30 and started sweeping and mopping floors because my oldest is going to spend the weekend with us. She and her 3 kids will all be here Friday night and then Saturday my 3rd child's husband is throwing her a surprise 40th birthday party that we will all attend. Unfortunately my 2 sons won't be able to come. It will be a busy weekend, but fun!

Sorry for the book this morning. But I need to get back to my cleaning.
Have a great day!

Morning, all. Enjoying the cool temp and light breeze this morning. 66F now but back up the low 90's. Not much relief until the end of next week!! UGH!!!

The doctor had me stop the added BP meds due to it causing the lows which increases the danger of falling. It wasn't making that much difference in the hand tremors so glad to be off of it. Yes, it was good to see DD#3 and her hubby. He is out of the sling for the broken arm and will be doing PT soon. DD was able to get the TV she gave me for the guest bedroom set up with channels from the antenna and showed me how to use the remotes for it and the DVD player. Why are all the remotes so different???

I am off this morning to see about getting a new cell phone. Mine is about 7-8 years old and is having problems charging the battery. Definitely time to replace it. DD#3 has worked with the provider and the shop I am going to go to and had all good comments about them.

Good morning ladies... it is another cool morning and I had to put a sweater on to keep my arms warm darn it! I am not ready to give up the warm summer days just yet! Yesterday's hike was lovely, a bit more challenging than I remember, but still I did it with not too much effort. My muscles are letting me know that it has been far too long without hiking LOL. I even managed another layout for the Quote it challenge in the afternoon, so I need to get that posted this morning. Then I am off to the Farm Market to get some veggies and then a Massage Therapy appointment at 2pm. Somewhere in there I need to think of what to have for dinner too.

@Cherylndesigns - Oh my how sad for your whole family!! Sending you lots of love and hugs and gentle belly rubs for Marley! It is so hard to lose our pets, especially sweet ones like Marley!! :hug2: I hope that Marley does not have too much pain and how lovely that he will be there in the place he loves when the time comes to say good-bye.

@faerywings - Nice to hear that everyone will be there for supper tonight! Even better that your Gary will be doing the cooking!! Glad that you are enjoying the new dishwasher! Yes the news about Marley is so sad and my heart breaks for Cheryl's whole family! Sorry to hear that Scott's wallet is still missing, has he had any charges on his credit card? I am sure he has most likely cancelled all that kind of stuff by now anyway. It will be such a pain to get it all replaced again!

@vickyday - Yikes you did have an eventful day yesterday!! So glad that you were able to get your friend into her doctor without any problems!! Nothing worse than a really bad UTI!! My poor Mom used to get them and it really would throw her for a loop!! Hope your DH is not feeling too nauseous anymore and the the Ozempic does the trick for him! Sounds like you will be having a busy few days, so I hope that you get all your cleaning done! Enjoy the birthday party!!

@BrightEyes - Sorry to hear that you are still in such a heat wave! I hear ya about all the different remotes!! My Gary has 5 of them all in a special holder and each one is so different from the other! No wonder I hardly ever watch television LOL.

I am off to get some more coffee and then post my layout! This one came together pretty quickly, so that made me happy, its good to be scrapping again!! Have a great day everyone! :waving1

Good morning loves.

I scrapped 4 and a half pages yesterday - I started the half page the night before. I did it to keep my mind busy. They brought Marley home last night and got home about ten. They don't know what to expect and she has to have 20 pills a day - 10 at 10 am and the other 10 at 10 PM. Some are pills and some are chewable. It's going to be hard to get that many pills down her. She has almost zero bone marrow so I don't know how much energy she will have. They're just going to go day by day. She can't be around any active dogs - that lets Bailee out because they play fight constantly. Daisy's ok because she's very low key. Roger said that he's going to bury her on the property. He has an excavator so digging a deep hole is no problem for him.

I know I keep promising to do personals but I'm mentally exhausted and Casey is coming to clean today and I want to walk up and see Marley while she's here, so I'd better get cleaned up. Thank you all for your Puppy prayers, love and support. We're hoping that there will be a miracle, now that she's home and she might rally for awhile. Unless she starts producing bone marrow though, I don't see that happeing.

Hugs to everybddy.

He said if he has no more problems than that little blurb one time a week that he can live with it. However, they start them out on a small dose the first 4 weeks then it is doubled and then doubled again! Sooooo, we will see how it goes! I hope his system does well with it!
I'm so glad Ilene talked to me about her problem so I could make her go to the doctor to have it checked out! My MIL ended up dying from sepsis because she put off going to the doctor too long with a UTI! It certainly is nothing to mess around with!

I hope the phone provider can transfer all of your data over to the new phone!
Our temps are reaching into the 90's again this week but supposed to start cooling down next week! Fingers crossed for you and us!
