I need to breathe, feeling anxious... so let's close our eyes, take a deep breath in, all the way down into your abdomen. Hold for a few seconds and then let it out very slowly-- really empty those lungs. And again-- really fill those lungs, all the way down. Hold. And out through the mouth. When you think your lungs are empty, exhale a little more. One last time... in, hold-- and really get all of the air out.

My anxiety is two-fold.

yeah-- that is real and current. That is one of the issues. The second is that I am really worried about the baby birds. I had forgotten but a couple of years ago, we had babies that froze to death. Cait mentioned that yesterday when we were complaining about it being cold and now I am petrified these babies are going to die too. I am pretty sure that I know the answer, but is there anything we can do to keep them warmer? A blanket over the top over the rhododendrons, at least to keep the snow off of them? Nature is a b**** sometimes. :(

The temps here have been horrendous. I feel like I can't get warm. Yesterday was cold and drizzly all day. Right now it is sunny but is going to be in the 50s. Blech.
Let's see what did I do yesterday, besides complain about the weather? I finished painting the trim in the kitchen. I scrapped a LO of the birds. I made an easy and yummy dinner. It was a spinach and cheese dutch baby. I never heard that term before but it was easy and all stuff I had in the house.
Cait and I studies together with the rats running all around. Tat is a Trash Rat. She *loves* to climb into Caitlyn's garbage can for some reason. There were a few times she found cheese doodles in it and we think she is looking for more. The little ones are getting bigger- and Evie is a piece of work LOL

BTW, I was mistaken about the award that Cait got- this is different than the one that I thought it was, she hasn't heard anything about that scholarship. I am so proud of that girl!

Today is Christopher's actual b-day and we are doing a family Zoom party for him this afternoon. I miss being able to see everyone together.
But that is about it, still have more things to catch up on around the house but let's see if I am in any sort of mood ;)

Gratitudes:
-my parents aren't;t fighting ATM- always a good thing
-kids are finishing up coursework- tomorrow is the last day. ummm.... why did my stomach do some flips???
-tech like Zoom that can keep up in touch

Nancy- did you and Luther brave the weather yesterday? Do you have the recipe handy for the sweet potato quesadillas? I somehow have 2 huge packs of fajita-sized tortillas and 3 packs of burrito-sized ones. I am going to make burritos one night but that still leaves me with many left over.
Have you been having trouble getting meat? ILs brought up a box of frozen burgers but only Gary will eat them. I only have one book left to read and then I am going to have to download some e-books. I am so old school I really prefer to hold a book. Not to mention the tablet is old so it doesn't hold a charge for long. But that is much better than nothing.
I hope that the snow stays far away from you. Is it really going to be warm next week?? Please let it be so!!!!!!!

Felis- how sweet to be able to spend your day with your kitties. I am so glad that W is such a cuddle. It helps a lot to be able to pet the fur-babies.
I always think of the same thing- hygiene back a few hundred years-- not so romantic! LOL

Trudy- can I get your autograph?? You are going to emerge from quarantine a very accomplished painter! The raven came out incredible!!!! You have such talent. I a truly jealous in a very humble sort of way.
Is Heather able to work on the course from home or it is just that the boys are always interrupting? And all of my fingers and toes are crossed that we will be able to travel at some point in the future.

Kay- bet it felt nice to sleep in a bit. Fine-- rub it in! 80* temps. Pfffft. I would be so happy about that. *whines and pouts* I need the heat and sun!!! I can send you my snow?? *hopeful* hehe!!
I hope that the allergies aren't too bad today.

Love to everyone who pops in, Rae- hope you are well!

good morning - it is sunny and way too cool. Luckily the snow will stay north of us. I wanted snow in the winter but not now. Please this is ridiculous. I have not gone vegetarian but I think that Blue Apron must have had a week where meat must have been harder to get so I ended up with vegetarian meals. But they are back to meat this week. But it was great and everything was tasty. I did get out with Luther and it was so funny my DH and I usually take him and this time my DH was in class. So this time Luther kept looking for him and cut the walk short because he did not understand. Dogs are so interesting. Last night made a chicken stir fry. Yummy. Now tonight I am not cooking. Last night I was channel surfing and 9 to 5 was on. I had forgotten just how funny it was and it was but then I looked at the date it was made 1980. And 40 years later we women are still fighting the same battles for equal pay, day care centers, job sharing, and harassment. This made me so sad. Then on Twitter all night there were reports of a Washington Capitals player and 3 of his friends making all these disgusting comments about player wives and teammates. Again it makes me sad. But on happy notes I did scrap and that made me happy.

Chris I hope you don't get any snow. We got rain but not until after I had walked Luther and then it rained it a lot. Have fun on the zoom birthday. As far as the quesadillas, you slice the sweet potatoes in to 1/4 inch rounds, coat with taco seasonings and olive oil, roast for 25 mins at 450 F. Place cheese, sweet potatoes and spicy peppers on tortilla. Fold tortilla in half and in a pan brown as you melt the cheese.

Trudy that raven is on the wood is gorgeous! You are a really amazing artist. Hope the wind dies down. It is not the wind so much for me but that with all the trees and rain we have had what if that tree or branch falls down. LOL I still walk but I do wonder.

Felis I always love hearing about you time with your pets. How nice to be able to celebrate your holiday with the pets.

Kay I just finished Scared Clowns. I have been hearing all the sad news about the neglect of the Navajos during this pandemic. And then I saw on the news about the shut down of Gallup. So much news. Glad that you got your prescriptions transferred and can do all your shopping in one place.

Jean I saw on Kelly and Ryan that bird watching is coming back. Yea! I gave my son and his MG one of my many bird guides and a book of trails in NJ. Well she and her kids had looked up and now know the common birds, cardinals, blue jays, sparrows, and starling. I have always been hoping to share my passion for birds and now it looks like this may happen.

Grateful for sun
Grateful for birds
Grateful to walk

Morning ladies!! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments on my Raven painting. I really did have a lot of fun working on it! It really only took me a couple of hours and then I stood back and said "IM DONE". I hate to give it up now LOL. I might have to do another one for myself. The wind never stopped blowing yesterday, but it sure blew in some beautiful weather for the next few days!! Sorry Chris and Nancy, but we will be having summer like temps and full sun for a few days here. I will try to send some of it out your way. I am hoping that Heather and the boys will not be getting the snow that was predicted for their area :mmph: Its hard enough to be stuck at home all this time without being able to go out and play!! Today I hope to see the guy who has bought this painting and then I need to get some scrapping done and the birthday cards for my grandsons!! I hope to talk to Isaac and Sadie sometime today also. It has been a few days since I have seen them.

Chris - Yes, you can have my autograph LOL but I highly doubt it will be worth anything!! But thanks for the vote of confidence!! Yes Heather is able to work on her course at home, but the boys keep her too busy to even try these days. Oh well hopefully things will improve shortly. Not that the boys will be going back to school or day care anytime in the near future, so it might not be until September. Who knows?? :noidea: As for keeping your birds warmer? The only thing I can suggest is to hang a warming light over the nest, but you would have to have a long extension cord, or perhaps rig up some kind of box to partially cover them? I sure hope that they will be ok! Enjoy your birthday zoom meeting today! Happy Birthday to Christopher!! I feel sad for the kids that can't have a fun birthday party with their friends!!

Nancy - Sorry that your temps are cold too! I wondered if maybe your company who sends you meals to prepare were having trouble getting meat. Glad that you had some delicious vegetarian meals though, its always good to try new things! My DH would complain for sure if he could not have his meat LOL. How fun to watch the old sitcom 9 to 5 again. I used to watch that all the time and yes it is sad that we are still fighting for the same women's right in this day and age! Shame on the young Washington Capitals players. For goodness sake why would you do that nowadays when the whole world sees what you do??? Never mind that you should just never do that at all!! I hope that day turns warmer for you so you can get Luther out for a longer walk!

Kay - Hope you had another great sleep in this morning! Yikes your temps are sure different from everyone else!! Nice that you had your Rx transferred to the base and now everything is one place! Good luck with your shopping on Friday, hope you get everything that you need! Yes the wind was horrible all day long, but everyone managed to rescue their garbage cans before they blew away!

Ok I will get the bed made and dishwasher emptied before my morning face time with Heather and the boys. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning ladies. Just popping in to say hi and hope you are all healthy. I've been busy with work, been scrapping more and spending lots of time with Jen and Noel (the cat). We facetime with B every night. D is back to work a few hours here and there and Jen is back to almost full time.

It's been fun to have family time every night, with B and then all of us watch a few shows together.

I'm still trying to adjust my schedule to the changes in routine, trying to get more done during the day, knowing we have family time at night, so still working on that but things are going well.

Take care everyone and I'll be back to chat more as things settle down.
