That's about as geeky as I get with Star Wars. I watched the OG Three way back when. I sat through the New Three with Gary and Scott when Scott was young because Gary and Scott are total Star Wars geeks. Did *not* watch the Final Three although I had to sit through plenty of discussions and debates about them.
Scott got Gary the coolest Star Wars "Lego" kit for his birthday. It's a retro TV and inside there are moveable ships, X-Wing and Tie Fighters. As soon as we are done with the pirate ship, we are going to work on that.
Dinner was very good and I have leftovers for tonight. The best part of dinner was dessert, of course. :D The pie was delish.
Recipe: Cookies and Milk Pie
I made it with Chips Ahoy Peanut Butter Cup cookies and chopped up some PB chips and mini choc chips to mix into the Cool Whip. So good! And I used light cool whip so it's healthy too. :floorlaugh:

We didn't play Pictionary after all. I got Gary an Expansion Deck to go with the game we play a lot, Ravine. We decided to try that out and it took us a while to get the hang of it. I thought it was just new cards to mix in but it's a different strategy with us playing in teams. Once we got going, it was fun and ridiculous. Gary and Scott were "Spirits" and had to manipulate Cait and me (Survivors) by either assisting us or making things more difficult depending on how they rolled "hearts" for each of us. We didn't know how they were affecting the outcome so we were taking a risk if they placed a card down- it could either be a good thing or it could have killed us. LOL

I am cleaning this afternoon for my friend., Usually, I go over there on Wednesdays but I asked if I could go today instead. I ended up spending most of my day in the kitchen so it was a smart idea.

Temptation on Thursday
Honestly, I don't think I have anything -*shrugs* Just one of those days I guess. I am dreaming about going on vacation- not that it is going to happen, just wish I could.
What are you tempted by? Scrapping all day? Maybe a PJ day? Going out and buying something new? None of those are hitting me, not even buying plants. The weather has been so awful, that the gardens are overgrown with mint, the crocuses have to get clipped down and I have what I think is mullein taking over the front garden. I am not ready to get any new plants yet. I still have seeds to start but it's been so yucky. Still no sign of Tif either.
On a good note-- my irises are blooming and they always look so pretty by the mailbox.

Have a fantabulous day!

Thank you all so much for the b-day wishes for Gary too :lovey3:

@tanteva What do you use for your fake bacon? Do you get the Morningstar strips or do you use fake bacon bits? You got me wondering if I could make a carbonara with the bac'n strips.
Don't make me scold you about forgetting to eat, Missy!!
I know that I should be better about having some prep foods/meds/etc. Our big concerns are either hurricanes or blizzards and thankfully, that gives a decent amount of warning. We always have jugs of water in each bathroom to flush and fill up extras if a storm is coming. Cash-- that will never happen, who has a couple of weeks worth of cash on hand? Not me. I always worry about Gary's insulin, meds are not something that insurance companies let you stock up on.
Thankfully, we are mostly concerned about the weather. Russia as a neighbor-- that's totally different can of worms.
Food for John: Will he eat jerky? Canned chili or soup? If it comes down to it, if he is hungry enough, he'll eat whatever you have.
Funny side note: When I was deep cleaning under my bed, I found the Go Bag Scott made up for me in case of a Zombie Apocalypse. I think this was back when he was 13 or 14? Bandages, a poncho, handwarmers. All helpful to have!

Zero. Zero Bottles of ketchup.
(Eva is such a psychopath :rotfl: :rotfl: )

@taxed4ever What a relief that the fogginess is getting better, it's about time! How was the hike? I hope you are feeling all refreshed after it. Nice to get new glasses-- and for free. Very nice!
The weather is supposed to get better this weekend, please send sunshine vibes!

@bcgal00 You know it was a good trip when you are content to be on your way back home. Lots of good vibes that the last legs of the trip go smoothly. I bet the dogs are going to flip out when they see you :runningdog:
Looking forward to hearing about the trip and seeing the pages you make too!

@Cherylndesigns So happy that you had a nice day and wonderful weather.
Scott has a couple of water filtration systems that connect to his backpacks, I am going to stick close to him if the Zombie Apocalypse (or a hurricane) hits NJ. ;)

@Nonni F Glad that you popped in! I am also glad that it's just regular busy not :furious:
Much luck to you and your family as your MIL gets home and decides where she is best suited to stay. My BFF finally made the decision to move her mom from Assisted Living to Nursing Home, it isn't easy.

@vickyday Yippeee for a good dentist visit! It's so helpful when the office is nice!

HAGD!

I'll definitely have to check out the recipe! I LOVE Cookies and Cream ice cream, Hershey's bars, Gelato.....I will need to make it as diabetic friendly as possible however, so the light cool whip would work! ;)

I LOVE to play Pictionary! And always LOVED building with Legos! I remember the first HUGE set we bought for our oldest. She was pretty young, but I would build things for her to play with. Tim always accused me of having more fun with it than she did! I think that was the truth!

Good Morning to all!
I responded to a few yesterday, but didn't actually post anything.
First of all, for my ToT, I'm tempted to take my $10 Kohl's Cash for a spin through the Clearance rack again! Mark wants to go to lunch today, so I may run over there afterwards. I also have a FREE Body Care Gift coupon at Bath and Body that I need to make sure I use. So, that may be my "errand" run for the afternoon!

Mark wanted to go to lunch yesterday, but I woke up with another headache that wanted to hang around all day, so I stayed in my pjs most of the day and worked on sorting out some scrapbook pages to have printed at Persnickety. They are having a 50% off sale starting either today or tomorrow! Some of the pages need to be split from 24"x12 into two 12x12's. And I want to increase the size from 8x8 on some pages and decrease from 12x12 on some. So, it sounds like I need to work on that today instead of taking my "errand" run! I guess my "Temptation" will have to wait another day! ;)

Woke up with a bit of a headache today, but I took some Tylenol and it is already going away so, Thank You, LORD! Mark will text me here in a few minutes about lunch. I will definitely go with him today. My stomach is beginning to growl a bit! I'm in the mood for a chicken Philly from Momma Mia's!

@taxed4ever So glad you are feeling better! Hope you managed the hike OK! BABY STEPS!!!

@bcgal00 I'll bet you really HATE to be heading home already! The 10 day cruise we went on back in 2002 was definitely not long enough! I could make a career of cruising, I think!

Waving to @Cherylndesigns @LSlycord @Nonni F @tanteva :waving1 :waving1 :waving1 :waving1

Mark is calling.......
HAGD to all! :bye2:

Morning everyone! Some dark clouds are rolling in today, so probably some rain for us later. Yesterday's hike was so very pretty with little meadows of flowers all over the place. There were shooting stars, White Fawn Lilies, Spring Gold, chocolate lilies, Trilliums,Camas and of course buttercups. It was a sea of colour as we hiked the Garry Oak Wildflower Reserve at the top of Mount Tzouhalem. I had no idea that trail was even up there LOL. I will definitely return again! The day was sunny and very warm, by the time our hike was over it was 25C./77F. Summer weather!! I am going to try to get a page done today of our hike.
I have to run to the grocery store in a bit and pick up a few things, as DH has a Pot Luck lunch at work tomorrow and because it is Cinco De Mayo tomorrow it has to be a Mexican themed dish. MIL and FIL might stop in later on this afternoon, we picked up a bunch of vitamins and things at Costco for them a while back and we still haven't gotten that to them. Covid kind of put a stop to seeing anyone at all! It sure was nice to be outside in the fresh air and getting some exercise, I did way better than I thought I would have. So Happy!!

May the forth be with you also!! Yes I had to sit through all of the Star Wars Movies, our Son and grandson Isaac are huge fans!! I didn't mind them, but like the original three the best. Sounds like your Gary had a great birthday and your Dessert sounds yummy, but I am afraid I would have way too much of a sugar rush from it and then would crash and burn :holysheep:. I will send all the sunshine vibes I can to you today, sure hope that the weather changes for you soon!.

@vickyday - So glad that the Tylenol kept your headache at bay this morning! Enjoy your lunch with your DH! Hope that you get your order done for your scrapbook pages, so nice when sites like that have a good sale going on!

@bcgal00 - Your cruise has been so wonderful, but I bet you are ready to get back to your everyday life! The dogs will be out of their minds when they see you again LOL. You would have loved the hike I did yesterday so many beautiful wildflowers and everyone was keeping their eyes out for the little bluebirds , but sadly not a one was to be seen. Lots of eagles and turkey vultures, robins and wrens, but no little bluebirds. Enjoy your last day and I will keep my fingers crossed that you don't have to spend the night in LA!

@Cherylndesigns - So nice to hear that you are getting some great weather! I hope that you got your Amazon deliveries, too funny that everyone picks them up, but then they forget to deliver, that would drive me batty!!

@Nonni F - Yes it is sad to see our parents starting to fail!! I hope that your Mother can make the right decision and that she will be happy with it! Yes today was even better with less foggy and groggy feelings this morning! I think the fresh air and sunshine helped to clear the cobwebs out of my brain.:spider1:

Well I better get my second cup of coffee #coffee1 and get busy with my day. I hope you all have a great one! :waving1

Good morning.

Happy Thursday and may the fourth be with you. Well, our gorgeous weather turned to thundershowers this morning. A clap of thunder woke me up. Good thing is that I don't have to water today. Just my ferns - they're hanging on the front porch and there's an overhand right above them, so they don't get watered. Oh well, I can take care of them. They're my babies too. My bBlack Eyed Susans are growing and look so pretty. I went and talked to them yesterday. They're really starting to vine and are climbing up the arch - so pretty. We tied them with string to get them started, but they're finding the rungs all by themselves now.

Chris @faerywings sounds Gary had a lovely birthday and you make the best sounding desserts. I've never heard of Ravine. I keep meaning to look that up. I figured Scott would know of/have one of those water filtration systems. That would be a must if you were an outdoors guy like he is.

Finally tracked down my packages - my book is in Roger's truck - he's one of the culprits for just putting packages in the back seat and forgetting about them. My other package is in Adrienne's possession so hopefully, I'll get it today. Yes, Trudy @taxed4ever it does drive me nuts. Then, Alyssa calls me yesterday afternoon and asks if WE have a check here for her. I told her that I have things floating around that I can't find, and that whoever has my stuff probably has her check. The thing is, we ALL have one mailbox. 6 different people (us and the 3 tenants) all get mail put in ONE box. We all have the same address. Roger's in the process of building separate mailboxes for each one of us, but the mail person will still probably be confused. UPS, with Amazon deliveries, leaves them at one of the 3 tenant's houses - they, UPS, refuse to drive all the way up the hill to our houses. People get SO confused when they ask me what all of our addresses are. They can't understand that we ALL have the same address. One of the joys of living in the middle of nowhere. :rotfl:

Vicky @vickyday yay for the good dental visit. I know you probably don't have arthritis, but have you tried Tylenol Arthritis Strength? I swear by them, and you can take them for any kind of pain. Each caplet is 500 Mg and I take two of them. That's stronger than what's in Hydrocodone. We get big bottles of them on Amazon and save a lot of money that way. We buy the Amazon brand, too "Good Sense". IF you can find them in the drugstore, they're very expensive. I have bad arthritis pain in my hands and only have to take them twice a day.

I'm going to sign off now and try to get a challenge or two done here. It's raining, so I'm socked in and might as well scrap. That's my Temptation on Thursday. Waving to everybody who comes on here after me. XOXO

I am pretty sure I have arthritis in my thumbs. They especially bother me while I am crocheting, but bother me some while knitting, also. I'll have to try the meds. Thanks!
