Good morning and happy Thursday to all of you. And a happy anniversary to me! Gary and I got married 21 years ago and never had a fight. Bwuahahahah! well, not so much that we never had a fight but never had a fight that broke us apart. We have been through a lot and whew, we must be either very strong or very stupid. :D

No plans to celebrate though. I am making the stuffed shells that he likes for dinner, and if I have time/energy, I will set the bread machine up for some homemade bread. I have an appt with the Radiation Onc. this morning for follow up, then meet with the social worker to touch base. This afternoon, I am taking Cait to either Walmart or Target to get some makeup that she needs for prom. *That* should be a blast. /snark
That girl can look at makeup for hours and hours!

We also finally finished up the luminarias for Relay for Life, and I printed out a picture of my family to be placed in the Survivor Tent. I took part of a LO I did when I first got diagnosed and added pics of the 4 of us together....and, I just noticed that I have a typo. Oh well!

Temptation on Thursday:
Leave Cait in the makeup aisle and go look for some new clothes for me!

Hi trudy!! How is your time with Heather and Mason? Just wonderful, I bet!! Is he really getting around well now? Any words? Bet he is the cutest snuggliest thing!
We miss you here but I am so glad that you are having a good time and everyone is happy.

Darn FB! Phyllis, I didn't see that pic, FB always seems to send the the silly info but never stuff that I really do care about.grrr. I will have to go back and stalk Trudy's page.
Yes, the kids have been feeling much better, very little with symptoms, and are very happy to be cutting down on the pills. They hate them and now have such a gag reflex when they even just see them. As for me, the fatigue should be easing up a but although it might take a few months to fully get back to normal, whatever that is.;)
That happened to me with my inspection sticker last year. NJ switched inspections from every year to some other seemingly random timing, I think it depends on the year of the car. I had been driving around for three months with an expired sticker and that can get you pulled over. Glad that the online registration worked!!

Nancy- I can't wait to see your LO's! It got so cold again yesterday! It was 58*. SMH! That is awesome news about your son!!! Congrats to him and the new house. I hope that when my kids move out, they stay close too. I am 45 mins from parents and IL's and it is just far enough to be a PITA.

Sara, I want to go on an adventure with you and Ben! What did the two of you do? So crazy about the AC. I hope that it gets fixed soon for you. I know that if it were 90* here and we had none, Gary would be Miserable! He does not do well in the heat at all. He really needs to get the units in the windows b/c he gets cranky in the heat.
What are Gallup Strengths?

Have a great day O-zies!!!

Happy Anniversary, Chris! people who stay married for 20+ years ARE either crazy or meant for each other. or both! i'm trying to imagine someone taking hours to buy makeup. goes to show my expertise re: makeup. i wear none, so i know NOTHING!

and what is it with Facebook? i thought you were supposed to get ALL your Friends' posts in your news stream! i only recently realized that that isn't what happens! is there a way to set it up so that you DO get all Friends' posts? how ridiculous.

Sara, now I want to know what Gallup Strengths are, too!

as usual, i am wasting time dealing with quirky technology. we have a TracFone that i haven't added minutes and days to for many months. so, i tried to add some this morning. but NOOOO? i am in some sort of SIM card problem loop, and via phone, website or home phone, i haven't been able to get to the bottom of it. WHY does all this tech just EAT a person's time with crap like this???? now i have to wait until the Customer Service center opens at 8. then most likely i'll waste some MORE time there.

i've been up since 3, so i imagine a nap will be in order at some point today. maybe i should start up the "up in the middle of the night" thread again....

enjoy Thursday. why the heck not. :becky:

Ok. I am much more focused this morning. Last night was lame personals. :)

21 years Chris - I am so happy for you guys. I'm sure that your dinner will be delicious and it will be perfect for the two of you. Maybe you can find something fun at Target to wear though....like in the lingerie aisle!!! ;-)

I have so never been a make up person. I do not browse make up aisles. I head straight for the Clinique counter or the Almay section, get what I need, then go. My nails are the only indulgence for me there.

Ben and I went to the public library in the town I work in and signed up for summer reading. (Where one of my students made Benny-boo cry by calling him annoying...the little punk.) Then we took our lunchables and sat at the pavilion at this beautiful park up the hill. This is what is to the right of the pavilion - I think it's called the Cross of the Four Winds:

Here is a close up of the cross:

And here is the pavilion where we ate.

On my FB pic, you can see Ben standing on the wall looking out. There are miles of rolling land and trails that go through it. If you drive (or walk - crazy idea) around the block to the other side that doesn't really have trails, there is a little playground too. We did that, but not for long because it was hot and I didn't put sunscreen on him either. It was a nice afternoon.

Gallup Strengths are the traits in your life that match your personality and identifying them is supposed to help you be successful. I have to say that they were dead on for me. The first and strongest strength for me was "Input". (When I say that it makes me think of Johnny 5 from the movie "Short Circuit".) Here's a few things about "Input" people.
People with strong Input talents are inquisitive. They always want to know more. They crave information. They like to collect certain
things, such as ideas, books, memorabilia, quotations, or facts. People with strong Input talents bring tools that can facilitate growth and performance. They love to provide relevant and tangible help
to others. Their resourcefulness and curiosity lead them to store knowledge that can be culled and shared.

Perfect for a librarian right? :) There are 34 strengths that they identify total, but most of the time people focus on the top 5. I paid $10 to do the assessment and find out my top five. Almost everyone in my class had done it before, so I figured I better do it too. The assessment is 177 paired statements and you pick the one that most describes you. They aren't necessarily opposite things, though sometimes they are. You are supposed to pick the one that matches you more or more often and you only get 20 seconds for each pair so that you go with your gut more. For example, I had one that was "I am tidy" on one end and "I am stubborn" on the other. I went with stubborn. :)

Air conditioning replaced next Thursday. That's a long time away. We might get portable air conditioners for the house, but I don't know. We might go stay at my Mother-in-Law's too. Problem is, I want to do things around the house, but it's too dang hot and sticky! Hard to clean out the craft room when it's 100 degrees in there. Oh well. #firstworldproblems right?

Phylis - I am beginning to hate Facebook. I miss stuff that I want to see all the time! I don't want my pages feed in with my people feed and I hate that I have to switch back to Most Recent. But sometimes I see I missed things with Most Recent and I don't know how! I know I use the service and I agree to use it for free so it's their prerogative to change it, but I have a feeling that something is going to come along that gives people the control they want and kills Facebook.

3 a.m.? That's harsh. I got up and went to the bathroom around then and went back to bed.

I hate dealing with tech customer service. I hope you can get it fixed!!

I need to go run out today and retrieve my credit card I left at the restaurant where we met last night. I can be such a spaceball. And I might force Ben to go to the pool since it's going to be hot. He has developed a hatred of bugs and leaves and doesn't want to go. But we have nothing on the agenda until baseball later this evening. And since I don't want to clean out cupboards or craft rooms....

Temptation Thursday - Rent a hotel room!

good morning! The sun is shining and it should be a bit warmer today YEA! Not much going on. We on a good walk. Had coffee with the girls and that was fun. They were impressed with my photos so that made me happy! Came home and watched hockey. It was a great game.

Chris congrats on the wedding anniversary! Shells sound like a great dinner. I am like Sara and I just head to the Clinique counter, I do not want to spend my time that way LOL.

Phylis up at 3 am is too early even for me. A nap sounds like a great idea! Technology is great until its not!

Sara I love your photos! That park looks fantastic. And the cross is amazing.

Have a great day all!
