Oh wow, it is still pitch black outside and it is 7.15 am. We are expecting very heavy rains today and some rain and snow tomorrow, I am banging my head against the wall [frusty smilie] with the weather and boredom. I am at the point that I am getting very angry at myself which is setting the warning bells off in the part of my brain where it is most easy to ignore them. Isn't recognizing that you have a problem the first step in fixing it? Why can't I make the second step??? Ugh!!!!

As you can tell by my mini-rant up there, I was bored again yesterday. I ran the errands in the morning and did a bit of housework after lunch. Then I finished a LO for the party here, crocheted a bit... wandered aimlessly a bit. Kept hitting Refresh on the Vaccine Appointment Bot - still trying to find one for Caitlyn. She is eligible b/c of her immune system issues but her schedule (school, internship, and timing between allergy shots) makes it a bit trickier.

Gary and I started Season 5 of Outlander last night. Men in kilts. Ah-hmmm :D There is one huge plot point that differs from the books and it is bugging me to no end. Trudy, Nancy- does it get easier to look past that? It makes me want to yell at the screen a bit, although the scene at the end of the first episode was very sweet.

Today is going to consist of me looking out the window at the rain and muttering to myself. Heck, at least it isn't snow! (Today... let's see what tomorrow brings ;) ) Not much else to do. I really want to start looking at plants and yard prep for the gardens and such, but it is still too cold to think about. I also have to wait for the COVID Relief checks to come in and pay the bills first so I know how much I can spend on plants. The IRS site doesn't have any info on ours yet. Soon. It will be soon! *fingers crossed*

Wishing everyone a sunny and warm day so you can enjoy it even though Nancy and I cannot :D

Good morning! Sunny and warm here until late afternoon, then we are supposed to get rain and storms. But who can complain? Not me.

The kids are on a 3 day spring break. So I decided to take 3 days off as well. Yesterday, I went first thing to get my new glasses. And, guess what, I can see perfectly now. The lenses are much larger in these than in my previous glasses so I need to adjust to the mask causing fog ups. But I am quite happy. And they didn’t charge me for re-making them so they were right. I know, that is what I should expect but there is so little anymore that I believe will be good.

Also spent the day nagging the kids until Shaun finally got his application in for college next year (he is starting at the community college so it did’t need to be in so soon) and applied for a couple of jobs so he can get more hours than his life guarding. Sydney applied for a job and started reviewing a book on how to apply for scholarships. The scholarship that she has already qualified for is called Bright Futures. GPA and SAT score plus Volunteer hours qualify you. It pays the full cost of tuition at any of the Florida universities. They are now debating changes to that bill in the Florida legislature. The proposed changes are so idiotic!

Anyway, today I need to do some scrapping, plant some flowers, make a trip to the Wild Bird store to get some seed. And maybe another feeder. LOL

Kay- Corned beef is ok, but for my family, the key is cooking it in the crockpot. It is a no-fail, always comes out super moist and then I can fill up on the potatoes too. Gary and Scott loved it and kept thanking me for making it.
Whew, glad that the temps are staying up for you. It has to be so nice to run errands without being bundled up. Did the BP stay normal during your errands? I don't know what I dread more, the Windows 10 updates or iTunes. Probably iTunes since the iPod I have is actually my niece's ancient iPhone 5! One of these days it is going to update and break for good. heh. Must have been a relief to see the camera working again for you.

@taxed4ever I am so happy for you, the hike/chat with your brother must have been 100% rejuvenating! And to see the Orcas -- what a bonus! That is too bad that you couldn't get pictures of them but what a great memory. Lunch must have been a nice time to talk, too. No wonder you weren't hungry at dinner. I really hope that the weather is dry and warm for you and your Gary next week although maybe a day or two of rain might be good so he doesn't work you too hard out there. LOL No worries about the Challenge, happy to help! All of the Avis are cute!

@bcgal00 Puppy playtimes is a great thing to lose track of, it *has* to be a good sign for Remi. If you ever figure out how to get her over her fears, LMK- J is getting more and more fearful of things in the house, ordinary things like a box and a TV tray. *shrugs* I don't get it. I saw a couple of photos of her on FB and she is way too cute! Bella must be having a nice time playing with the other pups, I bet she misses Taz. How is J doing, is she able to visit Bailey in person yet?

@scrap-genie What a wonderful place to go and see the birds. It sounds like The Great Swamp in NJ. My parents used to take my kids there when they were young. In a few weeks, hopefully, things will be greener for you. What a blast to be seeing and hearing the different birds. I heard our chee-burger bird yesterday which did cheer me up a bit. I can't remember if anyone told me what kind of bird made the "chee-burger chee-burger" call or not but I know they are here every spring :) I wish I know why I put so much pressure on myself as well. You have known me a long time here, have I ever been able to sit and "be?" I don't think so but it is something that I should learn.

Kay- sorry to hear that the errands wore you out. Hope that today you are feeling better rested. hugs~~~

@Cherylndesigns bwahahahaha!!! Oh yes, we would crack each other up-- I think that "Serious Eye Rolling Syndrome" is a great idea for putting off taxes (although you did hear that there is an extension to May 15?). I also think it should be considered an excuse for not cooking dinners, not changing out of PJs, heck getting out of Jury Duty! :p
Congrats to DD for doing her taxes! Thank goodness for tax software or there's no way I could do it. Caitlyn sat with me while I was trying to figure her out and Scott worked on some o his this year too. I should really let them take over because I have fallen into the trap of doing it b/c it is easier to them myself than wait for them to do be ready and teach them then. I fall into that trap a lot.
I showed Caitlyn the pics of Daisy and Lila and she was so happy! She was having a rough time at that point with something with school and it perked her right up.

OT Sidenote: If any of you watch NCIS and haven't seen this week's episode, I am giving you a heads up trigger-warning. Dogs die and I was not happy about it. About 10 minutes in I told Gary that I didn't think I could keep watching but I steeled myself and made it through.
Sidenote#2: Does the Dog Die? is a really helpful website. Wish I thought of using it before the very first scene in NCIS.

I hear ya about living in a metro area and getting spoiled by having everything at your fingertips, I hope that the Dr you found is a great one. Any news on the shots? Enjoy the fresh air, I cannot wait to have the windows open!

@felis- oh no, your area is in lockdown again? I am so sorry. be safe!! xo

hugs!!!

Morning ladies... So far no rain yet, but it supposed to start soon and keep on raining until Wednesday of next week o_O ! So much for getting much yard work or power washing done :(. Today I have lap swimming in the afternoon and other than that I need to get my grocery order done so I can pick up tomorrow. It is my sister Wendy's and her DH's 50th wedding anniversary on the 10th of April, so I need to start making a really special card for them. Sad that there will not be a big party or gathering of friends and family for them! It is also my FIL's 87th birthday on that same day so I will have to get a card made for him also. Hope to get a face time call from Heather and Hunter this morning and that will be my exciting day!

@faerywings - I am tired of being bored also especially in the afternoon, when I too wander aimlessly around the house! I try to concentrate on getting something constructive done, but that never happens. At least you got a page scrapped and did some housework! I did none of that. It was and frustrating day for me yesterday as I received a letter from the govt. stating that I was not eligible for my Old Age Security . Say WHAT???? They say that I make too much $$. What a joke, so now I need to get on the website and put in for a request of reconsideration. No where does it state that they use your combined income, it says "your" income and I certainly don't make any money at all. I don't get it, why would my husband be able to collect but not me?? Wish me luck, seems that is all we do is fight to get what we need right??? Sorry for the rant but dam I need to vent to someone LOL.

@LSlycord - That will be so nice to get out to the bird store and to get out in the garden! Wish I could join you too! How wonderful to have your glasses back and that they are the right fit so you can see again!! Good for the kids for getting there online stuff done! Hope they both get the jobs that they want!

@scrap-genie - Your day at the Marsh sounded lovely! We have an area near us that sounds just like that with a boardwalk etc. Yes it is so nice to hear the birds chirping again! I am wondering what bird Chris is hearing that makes a chee-burger sound LOL. That cracked me up!! Now I will have to listen to some bird sounds to find out ;). Sure hope your weather continues to warm up, spring is in the air here with many of the trees and bushes showing signs of blooming. Not sure if we can work on the fireplace just yet as we are still using it in the evenings to chase away the chill in the air, but hopefully soon. DH doesn't think we should work on it until we have turned off the gas to it when it is warmer outside.

@felis - Oh my I am sorry to hear that things are being locked down again where you are! Hope you are all keeping safe!

@Cherylndesigns - How wonderful to have the windows open and let in all that great fresh air! Hope you had a lovely day with your family!!

@bcgal00 - Seeing your sweet puppy on facebook really brightened my day! Remi is looking healthy and obviously feeling much better! Hope that you were able to have a better sleep last night!

Ok I will get busy and get dressed, get on with my morning chores and commenting here !

I'm in The Zone ~ The "O" Zone
CHEERY O
Hello all of my lovely OOOOO's. I'm losing it today with my hotspot. It's slower than usual and it's driving me cray-cray. I couldn't even post on here earlier - had to wait for it to make up it's mind to work.

@faerywings Chris - we would be rolling on the floor, that's for sure. I'm happy that the pictures of the muppets made Cait feel better. Lila wasn't here today, but our dd just dropped her off. She's going to spend the evening with Daisy.

I spent a long time in "my office" today - downloading backlogged files. Then, I'll be darned - for some reason, I didn't get one that I really needed. I hate when that happens. Now I have to go back in the morning. I should go now, but I'm too lazy,

Trudy @taxed4ever it was wonderful to have all of the windows open. Typical weather though - it's cooled way off today - 50 - it will be cooler for a few days, then back up in the low 70's again. Typical spring.

We're going to start watching Outlander as soon as we're done with Call The Midwife. It's finally on Netflix. That's about all we can get with much success on our hotspot. Some nights, if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction (I don't know - that's just my theory) - we get rotten reception and just give up. If I EVER get normal TV and internet again - I'll be so happy!!

I did a layout last night for the Anna Color Challenge. I don't need wifi to work on PS - thankfully!!

Have a good evening all. Hugs

Hello girls!
Thank you so much for your sweet compliments on my avatar! These who loves to read between the lines can said that you find it predictable ;) , but that's are jealous people with too much free time. LOL :p! I wanted to be sure that O Fairy will know where to finds me! LOL! :p
No, beyond the jokes, I really was thrilled from all comments, thank you so much!
Chris is right, my mood is pretty similar to hers. One girl I follow on IG tells me that her grandma always said that: "only boring people get bored" and I was so agree with that!!! But now I'm bored and scared from this fact! You should feels most comfortable own by yourself. But then I'm so tired from myself repeating the same mistakes in trying to catch something imaginary. And I bet that you also don't want to listen for numerous time the same things that I'm mumbling past year and so!
Oh, and Yes another lockdown here, government is decided to trap us and put in poverty before the elections!

Chris, hugs [it's a shame that we don't have emoji for hug] I am at the point that I am getting very angry at myself too! Like I running in circles, every time when I get away from the bad pattern, something in me tricked me to try one more time just to fail and break even more badly than before!
I thought these days that I'm not hear you to make seedlings. All gardeners on IG shows their seedlings in pots on kitchen windows. I know your kitchen is too small, but maybe some other windows? I had only tulip seedlings, but planted them out when was warm and they will probably froze. As someone mentioned (Nancy?! maybe) I had to do that at autumn instead spring so to give them enough time. I'm always too little to late! I'm surprised that you don't have a polytunnel or even some of these little greenhouses with size of cabinet (they looks like glass cabinet on the porch or balcony).
Thank you for your comment on the turtle's post!

Linda, that's great that you finally have nice glasses! Oh, how bad to change the scholarship! At least if they make some changes for future, that definitely should not affect people who already have it! Fingers crossed for both to get the job they applied for!

Trudy, your cards are always so wonderful, I'm sure you have some awesome idea already! Can I suggest also to make small video with greetings from the whole family for that 50th wedding anniversary! It probably have some free software (or 30 days trial) that combine greetings that everybody can make via cellphone and put it in one compilation! 50 years together, wow, that's really awesome!

Cheryl, oh, sorry to hear that you missed exactly the file you wanted most, very frustrating indeed!

Jean, the nature center sounds as a lovely place for bird lovers, even with its monochrome colors at this time of the year! And your little visitors must be so cute and joly on their "spring break"!

good evening - The weather here is rain and cold. And tomorrow snow. Really I am so tired of this! Mostly it is because I cant get out with Luther. Luckily he goes to doggie daycare tomorrow. He will get plenty of exercise. Yesterday on our walk the most curious of things happened. I was half way down a block and across the street a dog was turning to go down the street we were headed to but on the opposite side. Well Luther let out a wolf and so did the other dog. I swear they knew each other. The other dog kept trying to get to Luther but I could tell the kid (high school) was nervous about them meeting but it went really well. I asked my DH if he knew the dog and he was not sure. I made me happy to see the two dogs have such fun together. Made a yummy dinner yesterday but not corned beef. When I cook I realize that the food is so good but I just have to overcome my dislike of cooking. We did not celebrate St. Pats day. But my son and his MG's family are Irish and OMgosh based on their FB photos they do Irish. Today's dinner was even better. Other than that I am reading a lot and watching hockey.

@faerywings Chris sorry you get bored. But if you are so productive in the morning I think give yourself a break. I am hoping with the warmer weather you can get outside and have dirt therapy! Besides with Oscraps birthday you will be busy. I heard that taxes are due in May now as they are giving us a month reprieve. Glad that Cait Etsy went so well. Still our taxes codes and medical care in this country are crazy. Glad you are getting yours done. The sooner done the sooner the money comes back. There are changes in Outlander TV vs the books. I think the best way to watch the TV show is to forget the book and just enjoy the show. They are such good actors. There is no way they could fit everything from the books into the show. I think they do their best to be true to the characters while having to change some of the story.

@taxed4ever Trudy OMgosh I so want to see Orcas again. They are just so magnificent and I love the are family groups. Glad the hike and lunch was so good. I hope the rain does not really last that many days. I guess you do have green with all that rain.

@LSlycord So glad that you are having good weather. Send some north. I am never sure politicians ever make laws better LOL. I hope the scholarships stay the same.

@BrightEyes Kay I asked my doctor is I should get a blood pressure cuff so I could see how my blood pressure was doing. He said he had a patient who checked it all the time and was so stressed he suggested I not do it. LOL. Glad your resting is helping.

@scrap-genie Jean your walk through the swamp sounds awesome. We are still brown here but I too am hearing the birds singing. It seems strange but this year I feel like I am noticing spring coming more than in other years. I wonder if it is because with everyone inside the outside is noisier. Love your redpolls.

@Cherylndesigns I don't think I could survive with slow internet. My son and I were just talking about how it all started with dial up. I watched Call the Midwife and I don't think I have cried through a series like I did with that show. If it does not make you understand just how strong women are nothing will. You will love Outlander.

@felis sure hope your weather improves! love the new avatar.

Have a good day all!

Today was rainy but I think the plants need it. I was so excited that there were many redpolls today and I got a photo with 19 under the feeder. I'll post that here, but imagine my surprise a little later when there were over 30 there and maybe 40 all around. What a fun spring break they're having. (Gosh I miss the big green grin emoji) Last night was a breakthrough for us as after almost a year we got take out again from our fav local pub - corned beef & cabbage. I was so happy to go inside and see some of the servers we know so well and even get to talk (mask to mask) with one who wasn't working, but there for take out too. It was was so exciting being around all those people and noise, even with distancing (they do Irish there, so of course usually it would have been wall to wall people with a band.) Counting on the vaccine to do its thing as it's been over two weeks since my 2nd shot. Anyway, the birds are below.

Chris, so sorry you keep feeling bored. I always claim I can never be bored, but these days sometimes I feel twitchy and don't seem to concentrate very well. In your case the continuing cold weather is a hindrance because it always helps you to get out in the dirt. Spring really is getting here, just not fast enough for you. As to last night's NCIS, what upset you was bad, but I was also upset because of Gibbs turning vigilante and unrepentant. Just what we do not need from law enforcement!! (Now I need the shut up emoji). Any chance you can get Scott motivated to identify the "chee-burger" bird?

Trudy, how fun making cards for the 50th ann. & an 87th birthday. Love Felis' idea of a video for the anniversary. Sorry for the rain on your parade, but as you sometimes point out, that's how you get all that green landscape. Hope you had a great swim.

Oh, Cheryl, I cannot imagine your Internet woes. Sending you all the wishes I can that you get set up with a real system soon. At least you don't need it for PS or enjoying the dogs.

Felis, sorry too that you are feeling the boredom, even worse I imagine with another lockdown. Hope the party here will engage some of us and bring some fun that way. Almost there.

Nancy, sorry you and Chris are having such a bummer of weather. We haven't had snow lately though it was frosty some mornings. Good that Luther is going to day care if the weather isn't good for walks. IIRC he gets pretty worn out after that. Interesting about the other dog, but what a good dog is your Luther. I'm glad you're hearing the birds too. It always lifts my spirits to know they are thinking spring.

Hope a good weekend is coming for all.
