Whew, the air doesn't look or smell as smoky as it has. I felt bad for the kids when they came home. They smelled like campfire from camping but to still smell that way after they were home and showered. *wrinkles nose*
They asked us what we did while they were away and man, it was sort of shocking how boring we are. We did nothing- the highlight was getting bagels, pretty pathetic. It made me realize that we have to change our (lazy) habits especially when they move out.

I'm cleaning for my friend today and then it will be the 4 of us for dinner. :) We are going to work on the Lego Pirate Ship after. We might even be able to finish it tonight.

Temptation on Thursday
I don't really have anything hitting me, feeling pretty bland today.

I hope that everyone has a fun and happy day today!

@vickyday I always end up googling doctor's reports too ;) If it weren't for online searching, I would have never been able to put the pieces together that Gary had Lyme. I hope that your Dr calls with the info soon.
Did you have a good time shopping with DD?

@taxed4ever Hope you had an amazing hike and enjoyed the clean air for all of us who are coughing our heads off. I had to take my contacts out around noon, my eyes were burning. Every time I went out with the dogs, I thought my glasses were smeared b/c it was so hazy. I'd take them off, look at them, and realize that everything was still foggy.

@bcgal00 I saw the pic of the birds! They are so cute! Those are the ones in your yard?
Hope you had a nice time with the coffee group. BTW- I borrowed Golden Girls from Libby and I am 4 or 5 chapters in already, I bet it will be a good one to discuss.
That's awful about the lack of medical care. Really awful. Is there a reason why, a lack of funding or specialists don't have incentive to set up a practice in the area?
Well, I guess you won't go bankrupt from medical care as long as ya don't die waiting for it. *snarky American healthcare humor*:grimreaper:

@LSlycord I can believe it-- that going to the beach set the tone for the day.
oooooh boy, I can only imagine Syd making "suggestions" about Andie's diet. :D I probably blocked the Caribbean info out of my head. :rotfl: I go through periods of being intensely jealous of anything tropical- we are watching a show on Netflix that takes place on an island resort and it churns in my stomach how much I want to go. Doesn't even matter that it involves a murder, nope- I wish I was there. Ha!
This usually happens when it the winter- understandable to feel that way- but this year it's been rough.

@Cherylndesigns That really is the truth, you throw something away and then you need it the next week LOL
The icy cold tap water is one of the better things about the winter. You can always tell when the ground is frozen. We have a filter on the house and on the sink since our water is really hard but it tastes so much better than city water.

Vicky- well, that sounds like a disappointment about the bin store and the restrictions on the prices. :/
I read your blog post and I am on the same page as you, Rae, and Linda. The only thing that stood out was the serrated polyp but that looked like it should be removed for the possibility of being precancerous. My good friend had polyps removed at her colonoscopy a few years ago- turned out to be cancerous- but because the Dr got all of the cells out, she didn't need any other treatment. She gets regular colonoscopies and that's it. I hope that this is the same case- if anything needed to be removed, they got it already. *fingers crossed* :sparkles1:

Good morning ladies. I'm up early and instead of going to to the beach this morning, I finished up a few things for my CT work! And I did a layout! Will wonders never cease!

Does anyone want a husband? Brian is driving me nuts with this move. Thank goodness for him...because I'd still be sitting here surrounded by boxes! But I seriously need some time to live here before I can make decisions on everything. And Brian doesn't believe in time!

Syd still has her cold and they have one more weekend of travel before she comes home. I think that she is just too run down to fight it off.

@faerywings I'm glad that the kids are home and that you get to have all four of you for supper tonight. That will be a real treat! I have a friend in Atlanta who said that they were getting the smoke there! It's crazy.

@vickyday I hope the doctor calls today. I do have a love/hate relationship with those portals. But I'm always glad when the doctor calls and gives me a medical interpretation.

I'll pop back in later today.

Yes, the polyps that were tested were removed. I did hear back from her yesterday. I need to make an appointment with her to discuss the ICValve causing my stomach issues.

Good Morning,
I got a message back from the doctor yesterday. I have to make an appointment to discuss the findings and what can be done if the ICValve is defective and causing the reflux. The girl who called me on Tuesday is the one who relayed the message to me. She said the doctor would send the results to me. I told her I would wait to see if the doctor sent me something else besides what I already saw on the portal before I made an appointment to speak with the doctor. We shall see.

Mark is home today. He took the day off after a rough couple of weeks at work. Last week he was in charge while the boss was on vacation. This week was catch up and fixing machinery. After he finished the project yesterday he had been working on he told them he was taking today off. He is relaxing in front of the TV today. We are going later in the day to pick up a new washer and dryer for his X-mother-in-law since he has a trailer to bring them home. Probably so she doesn't have to pay a delivery fee. You would think they would deliver them for free. His first wife will be going, too, which is why he wants me to go with him. I'm OK with that. I trust him but her reputation is questionable. I don't make any judgments, but any mother who can abandon her kids is questionable to me.

Anyway, nothing going on here. I woke with a headache today, so I'm waiting for the Tylenol to kick in. It does seem to be fading, thank You, LORD!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies! It is still warm and sunny, we do have a slight haze from a fire burning near Tofino this morning. They had to close the highway down yesterday and so many were stuck in the Town of Tofino way out on the West Coast. Hopefully they will have the highway back open this morning. Seems the whole country is on fire!! It is far too warm and dry here for the beginning of June!! We are already on water restrictions and there is a Campfire Ban for the whole province starting today. What is it going to be like in August?? We need some rain!! Yesterday's hike was very nice almost 9 km and mostly in the shade, thank goodness. I still was very hot and sweaty when I got home and had to hop into the shower :showering:right away to cool down. I spent the afternoon getting Isaac's birthday card made and it is now ready to go in the mail. I plan on going out this afternoon to look for something to wear for my High School Reunion this weekend. Friday is a meet and greet at the Riverside Inn in Lake Cowichan and then Saturday is a Supper and more catching up with raffles and other fun things at the Community Hall also in Lake Cowichan. We will come home Friday night, but hope to stay at my brother and SIL's on Saturday night. So as usual it will be a busy weekend for my DH and myself. Not sure how much I will be around for the first couple of days of the Party here at the O?? That is why I did not sign myself up for any of the games or challenges, sorry I am not much help here, but I will try my best to pop in and leave some love! My Gary is taking the day off tomorrow, he wants to go out for brunch and also take his truck in to get the rear view mirror fixed, it fell off a couple of years ago and he has never gotten it re-attached. MEN!!! Anyway then he has to go to the Dentist to get the second part of his root canal finished up. By then it will be time to go to the reunion. I hope that I can still remember everyone who was in my grad class. We have lost a few, which is sad!

@faerywings - I hope your cleaning goes well today! It will be great to have everyone back at the supper table tonight, enjoy!! Our son said the smoke is terrible in Ottawa and the streets are empty as everyone has been told to shelter in place. The air quality is worse than New Delhi India and that is BAD!! I sure hope that the air clears up for you all this weekend! If my Gary ever retires, it will be my goal to get both of us to be much more active with perhaps getting bikes, we will see. Perhaps that is the reason he won't retire :giggle4:.

@vickyday - Hope that there is a quick and painless fix for your health problems!! Sending you lots of positive thoughts and prayers :loveangel:. Good that your Mark took the day to rest and yes a good idea for you to go along with the appliance delivery! Sounds like the first wife is a real piece of work!!

Ok Heather will be calling shortly and I still need to empty the dishwasher and make the bed. I hope that you all have a wonderful day today!

Good morning ladies. The heat has started, up to mid 90s today so will get the dogs out to the dog park soon. Not much going on today, a quiet day. I'll take out some chicken to bake with veggies for dinner.

@faerywings How were the bagels? D has been eating blueberry bagels this last week which I feel is at least a better choice than the Save-On muffins he usually has, a little less fat and sugar. As for our medical, our government really let us down by underpaying GPs compared to all the other provinces and there aren't enough facilities and incentives for training here and staying here in BC. This has been years in the making and nothing was done. All of the provinces are struggling but I think BC is in the worst position. Alberta at least has numerous clinics open and nurse practitioners, plus they started a pilot program with pharmacists running a clinic to deal with medication, simple first aid type of visits. We'll see if we can afford to move in the spring. Our home has dropped drastically in price so we aren't sure if we can afford to sell and buy a suitable home there. Right now it looks like most homes are not selling here, they have been on the market for months. I just pray that what needs to happen for us will happen, that things will work out.

I'd better get out there and get some gas for the car today, the news just said that its making a big jump tomorrow.

Remi is ready to get going so I'll go see if Bella is awake and we'll head out to the park. HAGD everyone.

It is very unusual that you all in Canada are so much warmer than we are here in NC! Usually by this time in June we are sweltering in the heat! Not so much this year! Even my daughter in OH is hotter than we are!

Good afternoon, all.

It's beautiful here and Chuck looks at the air quality every day. Barring any fires (which we haven't had) our air quality is excellent. He was looking at ours compared to other areas yesterday. Our UV index is high today, but the humidity is low. And that's it for the weather report today.

Chris @faerywings Adrienne told me, yesterday, that I was starting to look tan. I have been up at the pool a few times, plus out in the yard working some, but have also been using that Jergen's Glow Lotion every day. Just sayin'..............................................;)

Don't worry if you and Gary do nothing - you're not boring - you're just getting a little older and that's normal. We used to be on the run all the time and now I love to stay home and do whatever I want to do. Adrienne and Ava still want me to go out and last week, we were out a lot. Some weeks not so much. I used to play gold almost every evening after I got off work. We got off at 4:30 and busted right to the club. My sister and could easily get 9 holes in during the summer. In the winter, we went and played racket ball most every evening. We used to also work in shopping at night - the mall was about 30 minutes away and if we got there by 8, we could do a lot of damage by 9. My sister would tell me to be waiting at the end of my driveway (we lived in the same subdivision) and she'd barely come to a rolling stop. My dad used to laugh so hard over our dashes to the Indy mall.

Trudy @taxed4ever that stinks about the fires! It must be a mess to have all of those cars re-routed and backed up. Hope it's not too smoky for you and that you get out for your hike today.

Rad @bcgal00 That stinks that the value of your home has dropped already, and the market is so soft where you're looking at.

Linda @LSlycord I know you're counting the days until Syd gets home! She's going to love the new place!

Vicky @vickyday sounds like they're on the way to finding answers. Now, about those headaches....................:(

I'm going to get going and try to get outside soon. It's not too hot yet, but it will be. It rained yesterday but not enough to water my plants adequately. Hugs to all.

A quick in and out today. Yesterday was a good day... finally had a "normal meal"... a bacon and cheese sandwich! Moving slowly adding a few more items that are not in the BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple sauce, toast). Tummy seems to be tolerating them. Hoping that another week will see me eating 'normal' meals again.

I listened to my DDs and finally got an Alert system with a fall alarm plus GPS. Got it all set up and working this morning. Since I don't carry my cell phone with me - this is a way of getting help if I need it.

Worked on another CT LO this morning. I sure have missed doing them.

I got a personal note from the doctor regarding the pathology report:
"This letter is to inform you of the pathology results from your colonoscopy. The pathology of the polyp I removed revealed no cancer. Although no screening method is perfect in its protection, because one of your polyps was a tubulovillous adenomas (and advanced kind of polyp that could have become a cancer quickly), it is recommended that you have a colonoscopy in 3 years to look for new ones.

The nodular area noted in your ileocecal valve did not have any cancerous risk. This nodularity is not anything to worry about and should not be causing any kind of decompensation with your ileocecal valve. The valve appeared to be functioning fine when I looked at it."

I think I still want to make an appointment to talk with her about all of the symptoms and stomach issues I am having. There has got to be something that can be done! But, maybe it is my thorn in the flesh to live with. If so, I guess it could be worse!

It's SO good to hear from you Kay!! Hurray for "real" food - hope it agrees with you. Probably a good idea to get an alert system. I worry about when I might be alone someday and that's such a good idea.

Vicky, they have to cover themselves, but that sounds good. Three years is awhile, so she must not be terribly worried. Sounds like good news to me, but it's probably a good idea to go in as well.
