Daily Ooos: Thursday, August 26

HHH (hazy, hot, humid) day already and it is only 7.30 am. The haze is from the fires again. My goodness, I can not imagine what it is like where the fires are actually happening. It is awful.
Even though I got my hair cut yesterday, I have no idea what it looks like, it has been up in a bun since I walked out of the salon. Too frizzy and poofy- a cross between Marge Simpson and Roseanne Roseannadanna. I know there has to be a bobby pin stuck in there, somewhere too.

I was much more successful in my real-life shopping experience than in my dream one. I didn't get lost once, and I sure as heck wasn't able to wander out the door without paying haha!! I ran two loads of laundry and am knocking wood again-- no leaking water. Gotta say that sitting in the laundry room (large closet basically), watching the floor for an hour isn't a big thrill in my life and it was pretty darn hot in there when the dryer was running, but it was a relief that it worked out ok.

Today, the kids and I are going to the Christmas Tree Shop and my goal is to pick up some of the spooky paper goods for the Sept Bash (even though it is a shared b-day party, because it is our house, Caitlyn claims rights to pick the theme). They always have some cool stuff there. after that, we are going to my parents' house to visit and grab some lunch. Should be nice!

@tanteva do you drink hot, caffeinated coffee after work??? If you do, you are a coffee goddess (on top of Pres of LHA-- still waiting for the VP spot over here). Since I have gotten older, I can't have caffeine after 2-3 pm or it will be even harder for me to get to sleep and stay asleep.
That is fabulous news about work, even better that you know in advance when you are working.

@Cherylndesigns scratch off me ever moving to FL and thinking that I could get a job as a housecleaner LOL I am in awe that your cleaners would make your room look like a hotel room. The family that I clean for-- I have been with them since the youngest was in diapers (she is now in 8th grade ). She has a lot of sensory issues and liked her blankets smoothed out flat on her bed. She would want to help me "make her bed flat." That was the limit of me making beds.
I am with you, I would not want anyone else to do my laundry either.
I hope that the people Adrienne found are good and reasonably priced.

Discord has much better 'puter skillz than I do. Hope that at some point he can help you get the right keyboard setting back. Can you reset to default? That is the limit of my ability right there. Sorry!

Keyboard issue solved by restarting the computer. For the life of it I cannot understand his skills. I know once he did something (can't remember what now), but Urban (who is the king of keyboard shortcuts) told me, Discord must have managed to step on 3 keys at the same time to get that done. And it wasn't like three keys close to each other either. It was as Ctrl+Alt+Del (but not that) just the same distance between keys. I'm beginning to think he's Steve Jobs reincarnated LOL

I drink coffee whenever I want it. Usually, in the evening I'm more keen on tea, but yesterday I really needed some coffee. Tired today as well. Not doing my cleaning shores today, will have to make both the stair way (today's task) & the kitchen (tomorrow's task) tomorrow.

Best today: John came and asked, since we need to do some grocery shopping today anyway, can't we have take away for dinner. YES PLEASE! no cooking today. Now I have to decide if I want pizza or kebab. Life's difficult choices.

Though: since Swedes have no food culture at all - I could get a kebab pizza. I think it's the most popular pizza in Sweden. Pizza with kebab topping. Just snagging an image on-line to show you:

Quick in and out today.... yesterday was a BAD day. I sat too long in the morning and by afternoon the muscle relaxer quit working! Due to the way it works - I couldn't take more until the evening dose. Lesson learned! Spent the afternoon and evening in the recliner. Watched the 'Alexander' (the Great) DVD and by the time it was over, the muscle relaxer had finally kicked in. Unfortunately the back is stiff and sore this AM so it is back to the recliner this morning.

Eva - that kebab pizza looks very interesting. An unusual pizza here in New Mexico is one with chili peppers along with Supreme toppings (pepperoni, sausage, black olives, onions, green bell peppers). Yes... it has a fiery bite from the green chili peppers. That was hubby's favorite. Great that you will be getting more work hours so more pay and you enjoy the work.

Chris, glad you had a good grocery shopping trip. Yikes - your dream about it was a complete nightmare! Sorry that regular coffee in the afternoon/evening causes sleepless problems for you. Hubby and I loved a hot cup of regular coffee in the afternoon/evening on cold days without problems sleeping afterwards.

Just got a message from hubby & our boss has posted the schedule for the rest of the year. He asked if I had a Monday written down, cuz he saw I was on the schedule for a Monday. And I didn't have that written down. Yay - more work hours! When Urban gets home I will have him log into the schedule (as a temp I don't have access to the schedule on-line, no login), and I will check it out properly to check if the dates & hours I've written down is correct.

No matter how tired I am today - I effing love that work, and want more hours. LOL

Eva @tanteva that's so funny about the keyboard shortcuts. Urban must have special skills, or the cat maybe. "Back in the day", there were lots of keyboard shortcuts. I never learned them all, because I hated word processing. But there were a lot of them. I remember some of them to this day. CONTRL+ALT+DEL is still my favorite. The "3 finger salute". LOL We used to have layouts showing the shortcuts.

Kay @BrightEyes you've still having a time with your back. Take it easy and get better.

Chris @faerywings I'll bet you're glad you don't have to do all that fancy bed changing and "staging" when you clean. LOL

@faerywings I can simpathize with you on the hair....I have the same thing...humidity is all year long here and it takes alot of work to control the frizz.

Oh, Eve @tanteva that pizza actually looks very good. I prefer plain cheese - 3 cheese pizza. The big discussion now (on several venues) do you like pineapple on pizza? Yes, I do. It's called Hawaiian Pizza here.

It's called Hawaii here as well. It was a huge thing here in Sweden to add pineapple to anything and name it Hawaii. LOL Like "Varma mackor Hawaii" (Hot Sandwich Hawaii) - which is basically a piece of toast, with smoked ham, a pineapple ring & cheese baked in the oven. (Image linked from a blog)
