Our coffee pot died!!!!! I am distraught!!!!!! It was horrible, I woke up, went to get the coffee, and there was nothing brewed. I am pressing all of the buttons, the auto-brew settings were correct and... nothing!
There was no coffee, no coffee smell, the pot was cold as my poor, shriveled uncaffeinated heart and soul.

Thank goodness that we have many other coffee options available. I made a cup for me and Caitlyn with the Keurig and there is also instant coffee, a French Press, and a pour-over type pot thingy. But those are *not* good options when you first wake up. Way too much effort is needed. ;)

I had a pretty decent day yesterday, shopping and cleaning went fine. My mom called to say that she made an appt with the pacemaker Dr so I am taking her there next Thursday and we can go over all of the scheduling and presurgery stuff. Huzzah!!!
Scott cooked dinner last night and afterward, we played a "new" game. We did a mashup of Pictionary and Cards against Humanity. Bwuahahah!!! The kids screened the cards again to make sure the really nasty cards were out of the deck as well as some of the ones that would be impossible to draw. We used the regular Pictionary board and general rules, we rolled two dice- one to move and the other to create All Plays. The kids beat us this time but it was really funny!! Gary called the game "Arts against Humanity." :D

Gary is off to the LLMD this morning, I am glad even if I wished he hadn't waited so long. He hasn't seen her in person since before the pandemic started, did a few phone visits, and then came off all the abx last Autumn. I understand needing a break from it all but I am concerned about how awful he is going to feel restarting them all.
(mutters selfishly- at the worst time of year no less ugh)

It's still so darn cold but is sunny and should get close to 60 so I might try to work outside a bit. At least there is sun :D

xoxo

@BrightEyes You have been busy! I hope the roofer was able to give you an estimate that won't break the bank. The TV service guys really went over and above and all that, how nice to do all of the extras that you needed. That must have made it so much easier on you.
Oh no, didn't you do something similar last year and fell?? Am I going to have to come out there and wrap you in bubble wrap? please be careful! Are you feeling better today, not too stiff? Gentle hugs to you!

@taxed4ever how was the weather for the hike, did the sun come out for you?
Did you take any pics of the mica paint papers, I would love to see them, sound like a fun and fascinating process.
Yups, all of my encouragement for my mom did *nada* but my aunt, she's got the power to get my mom moving with the appt.
This year does feel colder than the last few springs although IIRC, the last few years it felt like we went from a cool spring to hot summer in a flash.

@Lynn Grieveson how frightening! Is your DH home and doing ok? Hang in there -- to both of you

@Cherylndesigns The sheer curtains with fairy lights sound very pretty! Between my SIL and the kids' friend Sam, I should be able to get some advice for decorating. That is a great idea about using our Christmas lights, I wonder if we have enough of the white ones-- we have both white and colored, but no idea how many strands we have of each. Thx!!!
It's sad that you have to consider the price of gas in everything t this point but a sure thing that it evened out not having to take the dogs to the groomers in this case.

@bcgal00 I don't think it is possible for you to take a bad picture ever, :D

hugs!

Oh, Chris @faerywings .... I really feel for you when the coffee pot quit working. Mine quit a few weeks ago, so understand how you are feeling. Hope you get a replacement for it soon. So glad your mom finally got an appt to see when she can have the surgery.

Yesterday was a bit of disappointment... I unplugged the modem and made the drive up to turn it in only to discover that they closed at 1 PM and I arrived at 1:45! So back to the house and replug all the wires back in to the modem so I could have phone and internet service. I got the roofer's estimate... and it looks like he padded the bill big time!!! I had him break down what was roof damage - broken tiles and replace damaged underlayment - ($750) and what was roof maintance reseal around ridge points and penetrators ($2,050+). So I will be calling other roofing guys to get more estimates. I stopped at the used book store on my way home and picked up "The World Trade Center" DVD... the one with Nicklas Cage about the 2 PAP officers who were trapped when the towers fell. Wow... very realistic. Decided to watch another DVD only to discover that the one I wanted to watch had an empty case! Then I remembered that Chari had watched it on her DVD player in the guest room after she had her surgery. Gave her a call and asked her to check her player for it. She will bring it down when she comes tomorrow.

Discovered last evening that I have bruises on both ankles from the fall. Looks like they twisted when I slide out of the sandals. And found a few other bruises plus the upper back where I landed first is stiff and sore this morning. Guess I will be paying for it for a few days. Yes, Chris, I did take a fall a couple of years ago when I was pulling weeds in the front yard.

@Lynn Grieveson that must have been so scary about his accident! Hope he is recovering from it.

@bcgal00 love the photos you posted on FB! Wow, great photos of the birds... and love the look of the area where you can take walks. Glad to hear you found the computer stuff so you could get hooked up again.

Time to get a shower then unplug the modem and make the trip up to the cable company again this morning. Hope things go better this today. Jim and his wife should be here later this afternoon or early evening.

Morning ladies... Another soggy wet day here. Yesterday we lucked out and the rain held off until we were finished our hike. The sun came out a couple of times, but mostly it was cloudy and grey. Still a very pretty hike around a lake with some ups and downs and pretty little creeks and fern covered areas. We had a large group for this one, 28 of us what a chatty group and if there were any bears in the area, I am sure we scared them off with all the noise LOL. DH is taking tomorrow off seems he is enjoying being the senior guy, as his partner at work retired a few weeks ago and now he get first dibs on days off. I think he is really liking only working 4 days a week!! This week is extra short as he had Monday off for the Easter holiday so only works 3 days. So I will enjoy the peace and quiet for today and hopefully finally get the page done that I started. I need to run to the store and get a couple of items that I should have picked up yesterday after my hike. I just felt like coming straight home and crawling into a nice hot bath after our hike and warm my bones up. Other than that not much on my plate today.

@faerywings - Wow I am so happy to hear that your Mom actually made an appointment for her surgery!!! Next time your Mom is stubborn over something that will benefit her, you might want to call on your Aunt to give her what for again! LOL. I will take some photos today of my card backgrounds so you can see them. I love experimenting like that and could spend all day wasting time splattering paint all over the place LOL. Glad your cleaning and shopping went well and that you are getting some much needed sunshine today! Your Arts against Humanity game sounded like a lot of fun! You are so lucky that you can spend such great game nights together!

@BrightEyes - Ugh how frustrating to find the store closed after your drive there! Then to have to hook everything back up again grrr!!! Sure hope you can find a much more reasonable quote for your roof repair! Seems the trades people can charge what they want now, as it is getting harder to find anyone to actually do the work and the cost of products needed sky rockets! At least that is what it is like here. Sorry that you are finding so much bruising, sure hope you are not hurting too much. Perhaps you should phone the cable place before you leave, just to make sure you are not making another unnecessary trip? Enjoy your visit today, you must be so happy to meet your new DIL!!

@Lynn Grieveson - How frightening for your hubby!!! So glad that he is ok, but what a scare for you both! Can't wait to play with the new colour play!!

@bcgal00 - I totally agree with Chris, I don't think you could take any "bad" photos!!

@Cherylndesigns - How nice to have the mobile groomer! Yup sounds like the extra $ to have her come to house will pay off! Especially with the cost of fuel now! Ha, ha, your cat is a little stinker! Funny how they know when to disappear!! Hope you had a good day with scrapping, if you can, could you send me some of your mojo today?

Ok I am ready for my second cup of coffee and pretty sure that Heather will be face timing soon, so I should at least get my hair combed o_O. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning ladies. Had a nice day yesterday with our first visitors to our new home. Some old friends who moved here about 5 years ago came over for the afternoon. We had fun catching up. Our patio furniture came so Darrell has to put it together today but Jen and I can help. I got a big gray mirror for my dressing room that D can put up today. I need to start looking for office boxes this week so I can get my taxes done. It's not so important for D to file as he gets a return but I always pay so I want to meet the deadline if possible. Next year will be so much easier since we are both retired this year.

I haven't scrapped at my PC yet. There are still too many things to do around here, with shopping, unpacking and organizing.

When I took the dogs to the park yesterday I found a solution to Remi's loud excited barking as we walk back to the car as she screeches at me to use the ball thrower and toss the ball. It drives her nuts when I just carry it. So this time I threw the ball when we got out of the gate, she retrieved it and I told her to carry it to the car. Problem solved. No barking and frantic screeching at me to throw it.

Today Jen wants to go shopping so we'll go out this afternoon and maybe later we'll go check out the casino.

@faerywings Glad you mom finally is going for pacemaker scheduling. Sounds like you guys had fun playing games.

@taxed4ever Glad you enjoyed your hike, what a large group this time. I'm excited, I just joined the local photography group here so can't wait to see where we'll go. I just missed the botanical gardens here where they got a private tour inside the greenhouses.

@BrightEyes Hope you find a decent priced roofer. Sorry to hear you are so bruised and sore. Do you soak in epsom salts? That feels so good when you have aches and pains.

I'm getting more coffee and getting on with my day.

Well, today is much better now. Made it over to the cable place and got a new modem. Talked to them about the internet problem in the house so they have scheduled a WiFi check... for this afternoon!!! Wow... I may have to get a booster for the house to make it work in all the rooms. I got home and plugged in the new modem - but still have the same problem with Wifi signal. So very glad they will be here today to get it checked out.

Made a quick stop at the grocery store and got my creamer and several other things. Lucked into a bakery sale there .... 2 dozen donuts for $1 per dozen! Now I won't have to worry about breakfast every day they are here. I am taking a lunch break and also taking another Alieve and hope that eases the back ache again. Not sure when I will be back on-line as I plan on spending most of the time with family while they are here.

Good afternoon.

Chris @faerywings great news about your mom!! Not good news about your coffee pot. At least you had some backups. We always keep instant coffee for emergencies.

The dogs looked SO pretty after they got groomed. Ava brought the pups over and the wild rumpus began. LOL I put it on my story on FB to "Who Let The Dogs Out". LOL Lila does NOT like them at all, but Daisy romps with them.

Don't throw rotten tomatoes at me but it's 75 here! They said the heat was coming and it arrived during the night! YAY! We are hoping to get over to the nursery in the next few days.

Trudy @taxed4ever your hike sounds like it was a good one and yes, that silly cat KNEW that he was "on deck". LOL Gary's work sounds like it's going to be good. Glad he's happy with it. I'll send you some of my mojo - boom - it's on the way! I did 6 LO's last night + another 2 earlier in the day. I work best under pressure sometimes. Haha

Kay @BrightEyes you must have hurt yourself more than you thought. The bruises don't show up right away. That roofer price - yikes!! Hope you get a better price.

Have a good Thursday everybody.
