I don't know why I was confused when I woke up this morning but I had no idea what day or time it was other than "dark." I think it was because I didn't sleep well, I kept waking up and maybe that threw me off. I double-checked the calendar so I know that I did type the correct date.

I had an interesting start to my day yesterday. I headed to my friend's a little early because I knew that I was going to work slowly and cautiously. I look under the rock where she keeps the key, not there. I look under all the rocks and plants. Nothing. Behind the welcome sign and in the mulch. Nope.
I text her that I can't get in but I have no clue when she will have a break. I text Cait thinking maybe she knows if it got moved from the last time she bunny-sat. I am looking all around and felt very suspicious. She is having her septic repaired so there are working and dump trucks, and me-- creeping around the house. I waited a half-hour and then went home, texted her that I would go back if I could get in. An hour or so later she texts that she has a garage door opener, and didn't she tell me last night? Nope, the last text I got from her was at 8 pm. She thought she sent it around midnight and prob did not hit "send." This poor woman is not having an easy time of it but at least I was able to get in and she has clean bathrooms today.

My back did "ok" - achy and a bit twingy by the end of the day. But I think I slept funny the night before b/c now my neck and left shoulder are all kinked up. Who's got the duck tape and superglue? Help me, I am falling apart LOL

Caitlyn and I are going to the FP and then the new thrift store in town on the way home. They posted pics of Halloween decorations they have and we want to check them out. We might try to decorate today, Scott has plans this afternoon and is working tomorrow, then Cait has school all day on Monday so I am not sure when else we can do it.

Hope everyone has a really fun day/weekend!

@tanteva "Mothering" is a much nicer way of phrasing that over "nagging." I appreciate that! *G*
I do the same when I go away for a few days, the house has to be tidied and the fridge has to be stocked. John is going to be fine, but I completely get the stress and worry you are feeling.
I hate tacos too. Same reason they are one of the biggest PITA foods to make.
Good luck packing and as long as you have enough PJs and underwear, nothing else matters. *says the person who packed for a week when she was away for 2 nights*

@Cherylndesigns How awesome to have Indian Summer, we had nice temps when the sun came out but wouldn't call it hot. You must be so excited to see all of the fall colors soon.
heh, that is what I did with the laundry basket, pushed it from the laundry room to the stairs with my foot.
Hope that your shoulder is better rested today.

@vickyday HOW exciting!!!! So many baby snuggles. You must be in Grandma Heaven. Happy birthday to you too!! Bet you did not want to put that baby down. I can't wait to see pictures of him.

Kay- I can imagine how awesome your house looks, great shopping scores on the decorations and craft supplies. I saw that Lo on FB and OMG, I loved it. So creepy and fun.

@felis My mom would call that kind of rain "Good Soup Weather." I was laughing at your description of Middleton, little muddy shark dog. <3 My dogs hate the rain and will hold it until they can't any longer.
yup- you told me so *giggles* I hope that my friend felt a little less stressed when she came into a cleaner house.

Better get rolling-- xoxoxo

Hi everyone! I was MIA yesterday, DH decided to take a day off as we had to get the CRV into the shop for its regular servicing. Then he surprised me by taking me out to brunch. We went to our new fav place called "Brunch on 3rd". I had the yummy Stoney Hill Eggs Benedict no biscuit and some Berries instead of Hashbrowns. So good!! After Brunch we went and picked up 4 dozen eggs and I went to the grocery store and picked up everything I needed for Turkey Dinner tomorrow. Of course I forgot to get a very important ingredient for the stuffing (mmph!!) How can you make stuffing for everyone without bread cubes??? So back to the store today darn it! It was such a lovely day yesterday so I got out in the backyard for a bit and cut back all the Phlox and Peonies got that all raked up and looking neat and tidy. I will get the rest of the back yard done when the next sunny day occurs.
Lots to do today, making the stuffing, a frittata for breakfast on Monday and making the cheese sauce for the brussell sprouts. It will be nice to have these things done a head of time. Oh I also got some really cute place setting cards done in the afternoon. I love my silhouette machine!

@faerywings - Chris it sounds like you had a frustrating start to your day yesterday, too bad you couldn't find the key to your friends house! I did not sleep well last night either, but that is quite usual for me LOL. It was strange yesterday when DH was cutting the grass in the backyard, he came across two big piles of poop. We have no idea where or what could have left it. Unless the neighbour has been letting their dog do his business in our backyard. Really doubt it though. We haven't ever seen a stray dog wandering around and anyone who walks their dogs around here always has them on a leash. It might not even be a dog, but its not deer poop. So I think we might have to get an outdoor security camera and see what the heck is going on. Anyway I hope that your neck gets unkinked today. I could use some of that duct tape too as my neck has been stiff and bothering me lately too. Guess we are both falling apart LOL.

@tanteva - You must be getting excited for your get away!! Glad you are keeping yourself busy with scrapping today! Enjoy your vacation! I hope the weather is good and you don't spend the whole time in your pj's! Get out and enjoy the new surroundings!!

Ok better get busy with all I have to do today! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Hi all. Gosh, I'm on here early today. Got up a little earlier and Adrienne didn't come for coffee. She never does on the weekend because Roger's home. We went up there for dinner last night and they're coming here for dinner tomorrow night. Don't know what we're having, but we have lots of stuff in the freezer. She made chicken and dumplings - they were so good. She's made them a few times for us because she knows we love "dough". LMBO - we love anything made out of dough.

Chris, @faerywings what a way to start your day. UGH at least you finally got in. I can just see you foraging for that hidden key and those guys all there working and wondering if you were trying to break in. BWAHAHA Sorry you didn't sleep well. Probably overdid it yesterday - it was all of that key hunting.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a wonderful day yesterday must have been until you realized you forgot bread. No, it wouldn't be easy to make stuffing with no bread cubes. Your brunch sounded delicious. The last time I had Eggs Benedict, we also had Mimosas. You're so organized and you're going to have a wonderful celebration.

Eva @tanteva it's getting close - I know you're all excited.

My shoulder is a little achy again today - I had to put my sling on. The doctor left that to my discretion - he said to wear it if I needed to. I didn't wear it last night - just my halter and I think I'm paying for it today.

I got a LO done for one of the challenges last night after we got home. The Artist's Inspiration - I'm using a big photo that I converted to black and white.

Happy Saturday and have a good weekend. Hugs

Time to turn off my puter & pack it in a bag. Will probably pop in a couple of times on the phone. There's free wifi on the hotel. But I'll try and be off-line as much as possible, and just enjoy the real world and life.

Will see you again next weekend. Behave ... like I would ... and obey Chris ... like I always do. LOL

Hello girls!
It's still raining, so it was not much interesting day. I will get the rest of the yard done when the next sunny day occurs ;), but today was able to deal only with inside chores. I'm disappointed that at my free days I prepared only one herb to dry inside, has to do this for the spices too, as today was impossible! My mom used the only window of few dry hours at the morning to take the dogs out. But everything is wet anyway, so no gardening.

I was chatting online with girl that want to take care for feral cat, but don't know how to catch it. Sometimes I feel like I'm not much helpful, but I do this for so long so I have many gadgets. I have cage, restraint bag and butterfly needles, that do any work safely. On a questions like: can I do this by wrapping in a blanket, my brutally honest answer is 'NO', followed by sigh of irritation. Some cats are lovable and feels comfortable with their owners and they are who you see at these YouTube videos, BUT feral cat is wild almost dangerous creature, this will not work in that case. I'm feeling guilty for not be able to provide some creative solution, but really is it worth it to take a risk for both cat and owner, instead to buying a travel cage? I understand that it is expensive and if you aren't sure did will be able to keep the cat don't want to spend money, but in now days is so easily to resell the cage. I don't know. I really shouldn't offer advice, because I can't provide non professional solutions!

lol, Chris, this sounds very embarrassing to creep around with all these workers watching. You know what I'm always saying: can cleaning the energy at your life, by cleaning your home, so I think the clean bathroom certainly will helps for her better mood! Have fun while decorating!

Trudy, oh, yes, your Thanksgiving is tomorrow, have fun! I'm sorry, but I didn't understand who will come for that diner? This brunch place sounds really lovely!

Eva, we will miss you here, but hope to have lots of fun and photos, I will wait to hear the trip details after that!

Vicky, what cute child! Congratulations! So they lives near to you and you are able to provide care?

Chery, why you're so disobedient :p!? What will happen if you damage the shoulder with some long term chronic pain! Put this sling on for your own sake, *I really need one angry nod emoji here*. I don't think that the diner is what actually matters, but the company, so I'm sure they will like it!

Jean, @scrap-genie I saw you to posting pages and really miss you here at the chat! I was wondering and I check at the forum search, how you did these pumpkins. I saw that Chris is told you to see for some patterns at Ravelry, but do you pick up just a random or yours are exactly like hers? @faerywings ?

@felis
I haven't done any recent crochet but you might remember in autumn 2019 Chris inspired me to make these little pumpkins for decorations. I brought them out again this past fall and still really like them even though they're a bit lumpy. The lacy doily in the photo was crocheted long ago by DH's aunt.

Felis @felis I found a pattern that I think was a little different from Chris' but the result is about the same. They are now out right next to me. I'm not all that committed to following the directions exactly either.

Thank you so much, darling! Everybody showed their so I need to be at the club too :p:cool:! But I wasn't understood did you follow the same pattern, I already saw one very lovely at IG, so that's even better!

Thank you for your answer, and I really miss you here! So excuse me if it's not tactful to ask, but how are you these days?

Hi everyone!
I couldn't wake up this morning, kept thinking that I was happy that I didn't have anything to do today. Then I remembered that my parents are coming up with bagels in a bit. I need to get in the shower soon and get the house ready.

I was busy all day yesterday and I think that pooped me out. Cait and I were at the FP and then the thrift store. The thrift didn't have anything that was our style but the person in charge had a beautiful yellow lab with her. Her name was Chloe and was 11 and a rescue from North Carolina. Guess where Cait and I spent most of the time? :D She was such a sweetie and loved getting her belly rubbed. Every time we stopped, she would reach out with her paw -- more, please!
I baked a pumpkin crunch cake and then pumpkin soup with homemade croutons for dinner. It was a nice autumny day for it.
Today is bagels and then getting ready for the week ahead. So much for doing nothing *G*

@tanteva have a fantastic trip, hope you get lots of good weather and relaxation!

Really?? This is your send-off???
Hey guys, please don't listen to her, I know you all can do better than that! :D:D:D

@taxed4ever That is so sweet of you to have brunch with your Gary, but dang girl- the biscuits and hashbrowns would be the best part! LOL Have a wonderful Thanksgiving today! xoxo to you and your family!
Do you have a fox in the area?

@Cherylndesigns mmmmm, I like anything "dough" too
Yeah, I don't think I would have felt as weird poking around the house for the key if the workers weren't there. Although they might have known about me, she is usually good about letting me know when other people are going to be working in the yard so it is possible she let them know about me.

@vickyday Gauge is precious! Look at those tiny fingers. Woah, you did have big babies!

@felis we have the same weather here too-- it has been damp and rainy. I have some rosemary and sage hanging to dry right now.
We rescued a feral cat when he was a kitten, probably 3 months old, and while he did acclimate to being inside and around our other cats, he was never truly comfortable around humans. It has to be hard to not be able to help your friend with the ones she wants to catch.
I agree, the more clutter in my house, the more clutter in my mind, and vice versa. I don't move her piles of papers around because she has a method to her madness, but I straightened them and I made sure that all of the blankets were folded on the sofa and the pillows were neat.

@scrap-genie So happy to see youuuuu!!!

Yay, Eva! @tanteva! Have a wonderful time!

Chris @faerywings must you talk about food??? BWAHAHA J/K - *drooling here over that pumpkin cake*.

Trudy @taxed4ever Happy Thanksgiving!

Hot here, but the wind is brutal. We got a new flag as soon as the weather broke (probably last April) and it's literally shredded after the whipping wind. We had to "retire" it already. Have to order a new one. It had a small tear in it, but literally got shredded - I've never seen such strong wind. Goes with the territory plus we live on top of a big hill.

I got a couple of layouts done from my outing with Ava yesterday. We just drove around and if we saw something we wanted to take pictures of, she pulled over and we took them. It's always fun to hang out with her.

Got to go rest my shoulder. Today, heat feels good - so I'm sitting here with the heating pad draped over my shoulder.

Hugs
