*yawns a bit*
I am running behind schedule but it isn't like I have anywhere I need to be today. But I have so much to do. I was out of the house most of the day yesterday and missed crossing a few things off my list. Nothing crazy - laundry didn't get finished and I didn't do any commenting in the Gallery here. I am feeling a lot more confident that the to-do list is keeping me on track though. I even added some things I will want to do for the upcoming holidays. Since I make a lot of my gifts, now is the time to start gathering ideas. Supply chains and shipping are going to be an issue this year so that isn't something I should wait until the last minute for.

My neighbor asks me to make gifts baskets for her and I am thinking that some holiday-scented Santa gnomes would be really cute. They could be the centerpiece and personalized (the one couple are huge NY Yankees fans so a gnome holding a Yankees banner might be cute). Then all of the bath/body care things would be scented with the same fragrance.
What do you think? Creative or silly?

Arlene and I had a nice hike, we walked almost 3 miles. We got to see a deer family- 6 of them together, 2 very little ones. They are getting their darker coats and really blended in with the trees. Lots and lots of nuts on the ground so hopefully they will fatten up well.
I think it goes without saying but I am wanting them to be fat so they survive not so they can be hunted. No one thought otherwise, I am sure.

I cooked again last night and have even more food leftover. I made a spaghetti and cheese frittata and it was very yummy and incredibly filling.

Today is supposed to be over 70 and I am working in the yard to get the tomato plants out of the ground. I guess that the green tomatoes still on them are not going to ripen at this point so I will toss them in the woods for the chipmunks. I have a few other plants that need to be cut back and I should harvest the rosemary and dry that up. Some of the sage too. Last winter killed the plants I had, they were buried under sooooo much snow. I wonder if I can dig them up and put them in pots. I can tuck them under the hedges for some shelter. Think that would work? Although the snow and ice we got last winter almost killed my hedges too so they wouldn't;t survive there either.
I know what to do!! I am going to dig them up, put them in pots and move somewhere warm. Me and my plants *heart*

HAGD!!

Kay- I hope that you are feeling back to yourself today, how is the BP?
Definitely worth a day of side effects if it keeps you from getting sick in the future.

@vickyday Did you have surgery on your knee or it is just a bum knee? I understand having to baby a joint. I had surgery on my ankle 2.5 years ago and it has never been the same.

@taxed4ever BWUAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have this fantastic image of you as I was reading your post- It was your face but the smilies of the rolling pin and foot stomping. We really need to get smilies back here although I seem to do well creating my own in my head.
The flip side to having Gary working non-stop on the Halloween stuff is that *nothing* else gets done. I will also start reminding him when dinner is going to be - 30 mins, 15, 5...- and he *still* loses track of time.
The trees are still mostly green here, I was hoping that driving out of town there would be some color, it really can be pretty on the back roads along the reservoir. Another couple of weeks we should be there.

*throws a bag of Reese's to Eva*
Did that help?

@Cherylndesigns Do you really collect funny t-shirts? You would get a kick out of some of Scott's- he has some clever ones. So happy that you had a good time at Homecoming! I guess the town didn't do anything last year? Can't wait to see the pics!
Tex and Rex? Or if it's a girl-- Lex or Lexi?

@nancyr That is so sad that your GP is retiring. It is unusual to have a dr for that many years at this point.
So smart to wait until after the wedding to get all of the shots together. I hope that you do well and don't feel miserable from them. It is supposed to be perfect weather today so enjoy the wedding and the sun!
I think I heard you cheering and chanting for the Devils win over the Rangers. *G*

hang in there Eva!

Got some scrapping done, and a bit other stuff that needed doing (reading e-mails, sorting files, and such) and now I feel I'm a bit more on top of things. Still have things I need to do, but now it's time to make dinner. Will make pasta ... and something ... we'll see whatever I find once I get into the kitchen.

I think DSD gets kinda boring, cuz I just can't buy anything. So much money just "disappeared" in September, and in just 8 days (*STARTS PANICKING AGAIN!!!*) we're off on our trip. Gee ... I need to start planning & packing.

Haha ... stress levels really never go down low, do they!

No surgery, Chris. Praying I never have to have surgery, either! I squatted back in 2002 and heard a "POP" in my left knee and it has never been the same since. It didn't bother me, really, for a long time, other than I couldn't squat as deeply anymore. But the last couple of years my knee will give away with my weight if I'm not careful. Yeah, it's a bummer and a bum knee now! But it could be worse!

Morning ladies... just popping in quickly to say hi and my DH and I are off to Costco this morning and what might prove to be a long visit to Micheals Craft Store. ;) I am in need of so many things and have so many projects on the go, that I am not sure just where to start LOL. So I will say that I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy DSD today. I will be here tomorrow and join in on the fun.

Hello my lovlies.

My shoulder is aching today - it's raining - UGH I hope this isn't an indication that it's going to be a weather barometer. :( Somebody mentioned "arthritis settling in" and I shushed them.

Chris @faerywings I think I'll name my skeleton Lex. I really don't like Rex. Lex (feminine) it is. She's still sitting at the barstool. She must be getting a little tipsy by now. I can't remember if I posted her picture or not. We just went to the parade - Adrienne nixed me going to the game last night. We're so afraid for me to try to get up and down those metal bleachers with one arm. I was glad she made me stay home. She took videos for me of the pregame ceremony. Last year, we had JUST moved here but we did go to the game. We didn't even know they had a parade last year. LOL Chuck and I drove down to the parade route (before it started) and parked in a parking lot. That's what everybody else did - there were tons of people there.

I don't feel like typing a LOT today, but Alyssa and Braden were both in the parade and in the halftime ceremony. Braden because he's on the team and Alyssa was chosen by Student Council. It's a big deal and I hated to miss it. That's why we made a special effort to get to the parade. Adrienne brought Alyssa down, in her formal, so we could see her. We took pics of her in our front yard. Then, she recorded EVERYTHING for us. I can't believe how grown up those kids are. I'll be making layouts and will let you all know when I post them. Here's a picture of Lex and Sam in the meantime.

Chris @faerywings I forgot to answer you about my shirts. Yes, I have quite a collection. I always forget which one I have on until somebody says something about it. I get a lot of chuckles when I wear "0 Days Without Sarcasm". There's a box for the "count" and that's where the 0 is. I get a lot of laughs over "Hold on a minute, while I overthink that". I made a LO awhile back, I'll have to see if I can find it.

Happy Sunday! How are you doing today?
What a gorgeous weather weekend we are having. If this is what fall stayed like, I wouldn't mind it too much. I only would like my allergies to chill themselves out. This year is the worst I have had in a while. Caitlyn's allergist/immunology group is participating in a clinical trial for some light treatment and she is ineligible to participate b/c she already gets allergy shots. She suggested that I apply and see if I can be a subject. Can't hurt, right?

I don't know if we got to 70* yesterday, it didn't feel like it. My house/yard is shaded with a lot of trees and once the sun stays lower in the sky, it mostly gets blocked by them. Although it is supposed to be another warm(ish) day again and any day where the sun is out is a good one. I dug out all but one tomato plant. I am hoping that the tomatoes left on that one will ripen now that it's not blocked by the other plants. Hope is the key word there. heh. I already collected a lot of marigold seeds and will have so many more in a few days. I will ask the neighbors if they want any for next spring.

Today I have the usual housework/deskwork. I might try to get outside for a while since we are supposed to have rain the next few days. My friend stopped over to drop off the money from when I cleaned that week. I told her that I was glad that she still wanted me to clean, that I was worried she was firing me-- hoo boy, did she *laugh* at that! Looks like I have job security with her hahahahaha!!!

Speaking of jobs, Scott gave us some potentially great news for him and a job next year. He was working at a big county event the other day and met a bunch of people with the County, including on the Board of Commissioners. If they can get the funding passed for the new naturalist position, he is the top candidate. (OK, they told him he would have to job but that makes me feel like I am jinxing it so I am going to go knock wood, throw some salt, etc) He apparently got a great rec by his supervisor as well as making a good impression with the people he met at the event.
Any good vibes are appreciated! The big catch is if the money will be there but it sounds like he has a good solid foot in the door.

@Cherylndesigns I saw the video, how cute the parade was. Whose Corvette was that? Nice ride! You musty have been cheering so hard for the g-kids :)

@scrapinmom Sharon- I am sensing some sarcasm about having fun shopping for everyone *G* I can't believe that your g-son is 19 months already. You must adore spending every moment that you can with him. Have a blast with him today!

@tanteva Glad that you felt accomplished for at least a little while, and nope, the stress levels never go way down. They only get ignored LOL There is so much truth to the saying "It is always something." :p

@vickyday that stinks at how you move wrong once and kaplooey- there goes the knee. Have you tried PT for it? That helped with my ankle, at least the second round did. The first round didn't do enough and then I ended up with Achilles tendonitis and had to wear a boot and then Round Two of PT. I still try to keep up with some of the exercises esp when it feels wonky.

@taxed4ever what did you get at Michaels??? Hope for lots of fun things and exciting ideas for projects!

@Cherylndesigns Oh no, I hope that the shoulder doesn't act up when it rains. Good thoughts for you!
Aw, I like Lex- she is looking good, hope that she didn't get so tipsy she fell off the chair! Don't want her to break bone :D

Eva- awesome Docs! I guess you knit the scarf and leg warmers too? Such a cozy page!

Cheryl- Both of those t-shirts are me! No surprise there. LOL!!!

I am here... not sure how today will go. Friday I ran a temp all day, chills and aching. Slept most of Friday and Saturday. I forced myself to get out of bed each day and ended up napping in the recliner during the day. Temp is gone but still feeling tired so guess I may sleep off and on today. This wasn't as bad as the side-effects I had with the 2nd Covid shot, thank goodness. Sorry that I have missed most of DSD time. Just looked outside and the sky is filled with hot air balloons...but not feeling up to taking photos. The festival will run until next Sunday, so hope I feel up to get some photos if the Balloons come over our neighborhood.
Need to get something to eat then going to veg in the recliner. Hope you all have a good Sunday.

0 days without sarcasm! That t-shirt should be mine! LOL Love it @Cherylndesigns

Trying to CALM myself here. Not working very well, but at least I've decided to not over do things today. It's Sunday, and aren't we supposed to rest on Sundays? Even us heathens, I mean? LOL

Made a layout for Vicki R's challenge that I need to post. Might do it soon. Might do it tomorrow.

Hoping to get Urban to watch an episode or two of Sopranos. @faerywings I need you to watch it! I need you to tell me this is exactly how life in NJ is. We're about halfway through season 2. Same thing with Downton Abbey, halfway through season 2, but that one I'm watching on my own.

Lost the mojo for knitting/crocheting as well. I'm going crazy surely but slowly. I wish the snow could come soon. Life always feels easier when the snow lit up the world. But ... 1-2 months until that is likely to happen. Could take a minute or two of sunshine as well. Rain & gray seems to be the weather forecast for the coming week, though.

Positive thinking: it will NOT rain when we're in Vadstena. Or ... I hope the hotel has comfy beds when I have to stay inside all the time LOL

One week from now we've probably just checked in to the hotel and will go out and see if we can find a restaurant to have dinner.

Need to make a check list for packing and prepping for the trip.

Get well soon @BrightEyes

Good morning. Chris @faerywings I caught Lex in the cupboard when I sneaked into the kitchen last night. I swear, she wants that lone bottle of Jack that's on the top shelf! Little stinker! You'd LOVE my T-shirts, for sure! We're too much alike for you to now like them. Wasn't that video cute? I shot all of the pictures in "live" mode, then stitched them together. I love the look I get from doing that - then added the "Game Night" song. I can do it on my phone. That Corvette wasn't mine, but I had one exactly like it "back in my heyday". The guys all rounded up cool cars for the parade. I'll ask Roger who's Vette it was - they're gone for the weekend. Alyssa's bf 's (Big G) dad was driving that red truck, with the American flag on top. I've never seen that either, so they went "car hunting". LOL They're like a couple of kids, anyway - car nuts. Alyssa, in the red formal, was sitting with Big G in the back - I had to shorten my video up to make the whole thing fit on IG. Here's a picture of my Corvette. The one they were in was either a convertible or one that the top lifted off. Mine was an 84. Chuck said the one in the parade was a couple of years newer - he knows these things. lol

Kay @BrightEyes I'm so sorry that you're still having bad after effects! If you don't feel well enough to go outside to see those hot air balloon, you really feel bad. I just hope you get out there sometime before the festival is over. So happy to hear that you have a few days left. You're scaring me for getting my booster shot! Sending lots of healing vibes.

Eva @tanteva so you "speak sarcasm" too? Why doesn't that surprise me? I found another funny one last night - it says "nope ~ not today". LOL I also have "Llamaste" with a llama doing yoga and 3 llamas in masks that says "Llama Squad". I have one with all the "famous streets" in Detroit all over the front, all going different directions. I used to have one that said "Be nice to me, I have friends in Detroit". LMAO I got my DD one that says "Straight OUTTA Detroit" (Like Straight OUTTA Compton) and "A Little Bit Hood - A Little Bit Country".

Well, my shoulder's hurting - too much typing. Time to ice, put on halter and sling. UGH.

Waving to all, with my left arm.

Morning ladies... A mixed bag of weather here today, but we are hoping to get some of the windows washed inside and out today. We spent the entire day in Langford yesterday, most of it inside Costco and Michaels LOL. By the time we got home and got everything put away it was almost supper time. First it was wineO'clock though and we enjoyed a glass on the upper front deck and soaked up a bit of sun and enjoyed the view! The trees around the lake are turning beautiful colours right now, so it was nice to just relax and look at Autumn in our part of the world. DH has taken his truck to get the oil changed, so I have only a few minutes here this morning.

@faerywings - Yes I got lots of goodies at Michaels yesterday, mostly more heat transfer vinyl for t-shirts for the kids and some other vinyl to make a couple of more signs. A few autumn decorations and a t-shirt for Hunter, he wants me to put Sonic the Hedgehog on it for him LOL. Of course I will do it!!

Kay - So sorry that you are still out of sorts from the vaccine! Hope you feel much better by tomorrow!

@tanteva - LOL love that you are sarcastic! Hope that the weather cooperates for your trip next week! I too have to post a page for Vicki's challenge!

@Cherylndesigns - Oh love your sweet ride from a few years back! I can totally see you driving around in that! Love all of your great t-shirts. I might have to steal a few of those sayings for the ones I make! Hope your shoulder is feeling better soon!

Ok gotta run and get things ready for the big window washing day LOL Waving good bye to you all!!

When John was little, I read in an article in a parenting magazine that kids didn't understand irony until they where about 10-12 years old. I immediately realized I had to teach John what it was, or the kid would go mental. So, ever so often, when he was about 3-4 years old, his standard reply to everything I said, was "Where you ironic now, mom?".

I taught him well, he's a master of irony as well these days. LOL

Trudy @taxed4ever thanks! I had several Corvettes over the years. My first one was black and the others were all red. Chuck got a new one every year - you used to have to be able to be on a "list" to get one. His job put him on it, so I'd just duplicate my order every year. Black leather interior - red exterior. They all looked alike, so it was like I had the same car all those years. In the late 90's, I bought this one and was going to keep it forever. LOL It was a total lemon and I had nothing but trouble with it. Because it wasn't new - I had to carry a portable battery charger in the back because it had to be charged so much. LOL That way I didn't have to ask anybody for a charge. I finally got tired of having an old car and sold it. It was a pretty thing, though. I haven't had one since. I was tempted to get a new one in the early 2000's, but saw the sticker price and almost had a heart attack. It was like driving a house!

No, Chris, no PT. I've never been to the doctor with the problem. If it ever gets bad enough I will. It only ever bothers me if I am hoisting myself up on those steps. I generally run up any steps so the weight to the knee is short-lived. But those steps are so high I would never make the hurdle, LOL!

good evening - wow a very busy weekend. Yesterday the weather was perfect for a wedding. So many people at the reception but not the wedding. Me I always think the wedding is most important. The two were the youngest kids in both families so the wedding party consisted of siblings and all the kids. So cute. The reception was lovely and they had a live band that was terrific. My son danced with me so we could practice for our dance at his wedding. The food was yummy. I am finally learning who all the family is on both sides. These two went to high school together as did the siblings. Cracks me up as we have no family. Today was gorgeous as the temperature was in the low 80s. My house is cold but outside walking was perfect! We had apple cider donuts. OMgosh I love those. My NJ Devils are winning in the preseason and it is great. I hope it gives them confidence for the regular season. They still have 3 preseason games to play. I have been reading a lot.

@faerywings Chris the weather this weekend has been great. Like the last taste of summer. I need to be warm. I am sending lots of positive vibes for Scott and the new position. It sounds perfect for him!

@tanteva Eva have fun on your vacation. I hate packing and always put it off until the last minute. I always figure I can buy what I forget if really necessary. I love those can have fast minds and are good at irony and sarcasm - I always think oh I should have said that.

@taxed4ever Trudy I bet you bought out the Craft store. You will be busy before the holidays.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl your Corvette was gorgeous. There is no where in NJ where there are roads that would let you do justice to its speed. Our weather and salt on the roads are just not nice to cars. And you are correct the price is outrageous! Love the skeleton's name! How sweet the kids were in parade and football festivities.

Kay I am not looking forward to the side effects for the booster but I believe in it. Feel better.

@vickyday I feel you and your knee problems. I felt a pop and it was a torn meniscus and eventually I had to get both my knees replaced. It all came down to the fact that the pain in my knee kept me from doing what I wanted which is travel and walk. I am so happy now!

Waving to all!

What is this booster you are talking about? Are Americans given a third vaccine shot now? They are starting to give a third shot here in Sweden now, to the elderly & people living in homes for elderly. Maybe risque groups as well, I'm not sure?

BTW - about corona ... did I tell you I heard back from my penpal in Sri Lanka? She's alive, but has just come home from hospital after being there for covid. But all her family is ok now. I'm going to pack a little folder and bring me some letter paper & envelopes and write some letters when I'm on vacation. I love sitting at a café and write letters. Sipping my coffee and watch people as they come and go.

Hello lovelies! I can't believe I'm not posted for almost a week, but I'm to lazy to write. It takes me so long, that I get discouraged on a background of lovely weather that calling me outside.
I had an awesome weekend practicing in IG gardening photo challenge, so I had to go here and say huge thank you to Trudy and Cheryl! Love you girls, thank you for supporting me by seeing my things and giving likes on them!
Surprisely I didn't won anything :p:cool:, but I'm seriously starting to considering buying of makro camera and finally to try photography as a properly hobby, and not just as a source to recreate my other activities.
Will see, so many good things happened this year that it's a little bit difficult to keep track! Next month will turn one year of having sew machine and unfortunately I'm almost not use it after the first month. I watched few videos from sew class I'm subscribed for, but totally not enough for any progress.
Seriously, most of the time I'm feeling that I'll miss the best in a life because can't find time after work. I'm always too tired.

LOVE you all! Just not enough to make a personal notes :D;), maybe later!
