Happy Weekend everybody! I am happy that the sun is out. It is really chilly but at least it looks cheery. There is a tree out my window whose leaves are buttercup yellow. The way the sun catches on them-- delightful.
Yesterday I wondered what I was going to do and I thought it was going to be drinking coffee and petting dogs and yup, that is what I did. Dogs and rats. I gave the rats pieces of uncooked quinoa noodles and they adore them. They go scampering off to eat them and all you hear are little crunching sounds. I love those girls. Ray is sleeping a lot but I guess if I were her age, I would be too.
My frustration of the day was my attempts at crocheting a scarf for my mom for Christmas. When she dropped off the yarn from her neighbor to me, she mentioned how much she liked one of the skeins. I have started and ripped out countless rows/patterns over the last few days. I tried to find an easy pattern that might work with the yarn and haven't had any luck. It is a bulky weight and variegated shades of brown. Any of the shell stitch patterns came out looking lumpy. I tired a half double and it was too bland, then tried a half double back loop only stitch and the yarn is too textured to see the ribbing.
I am not that good of a crocheter to do anything much more complicated.
I feel like I have been starting at Ravelry.com so much that my brain is unRaveling ound:
Cait and I are running to the FP this morning, I hope that they have sugar and laundry detergent. (But please no more cans of kidney beans.... What do people use kidney beans for???) Hmmm, chili. And I know I have ground turkey. I wonder if the guys would like turkey chili.
Anyone have a good chili recipe to share?
That is about it. Have fun today!!! xoxo
