Hey there, Dear Ooos!
I am doing OK, unfortunately, I am having some side effects from the booster but thank goodness,*nothing* like after #2. I felt pretty good until the middle of the night and the muscles aches/joint pain started to kick in. Right now I feel like I am having a Lyme flare-- muscle aches, joint pain, killer headache, skin and eyes hurt. But if I can get through Lyme flares that lasted days/weeks- 24 hours or so will be a piece of cake.

I bailed on doing the rest of my errands after the appt. It was raining so hard I was soaked to the skin getting to my car- which was only a few spaces away from the doors. Came home, dried off, put some warm and cozy sweats on. I crocheted most of the afternoon and *finally* finished the 4x4" soap sack. haha!!! In between, I *had* to make a chocolate dump cake. I was craving chocolate so much that I ended up caving in and made one.

Today I am making a big batch of rice pudding for my dad's b-day gift. He loves rice pudding and I make him some every year. Gotta do that and a card. I was thinking about dusting.... not sure about that.... just the thought made me worn out.

Have a FAB weekend!!!

@taxed4ever Isn't Rae's news simply wonderful??
How is the fireplace coming out? Can you remind me what the process was for what you are doing? *fingers all crossed* I am confident that it will look amazing,
That is such a cute idea for DS's sweatshirt but all I can think of is Gilligan and the Skipper :p
*high 5* on the calendar pages! I have 6 cocktail recipes scrapped (Did I tell you that am makign a Campbell cocktail gift basket? I think I did)
The coffee oil needs another week or so to infuse and then I will have to whip it into the butter. The oil itself is getting very dark. It is sunflower oil- very pale in color, but it is starting to turn a rich brown
I ordered a new Fragrance Oil for room sprays and it is called Sugared Spruce and I adore it! I think that is what I am going to use for scenting the gnomes- whenever I get around to making them too. (Examples of Faery biting off more than she can chew)
Hope that you and your Gary get everything done that you need to today so tomorrow you can relax.

@bcgal00 I am still utterly *overjoyed* for Jen, those are smart choices to pay off, save a ton of money on interest. It had to have been so much fun to shop a bit and not have to stress about going over budget. *happy dances*

@Cherylndesigns What a pretty day it must have been, so happy that you were able to spend it outside. Mint is very good for upset stomachs -- for most people. Peppermint actually makes me nauseous.
Nice catch on the wild mustard!
Was Ava able to find you a walking stick? Scott just goes into the woods to find them, but my dad has a collapsible one that he can take when he goes fishing. The one in my car reaches from one door to the other and is about 2" in diameter so I can see why it is Scott's favorite. I have to remind him that it is in there. He is doing a "Sunset Hike" at the ecology center tonight.
Gary gets overprotective of me occasionally too, never wants me to push myself. I supposed watching me roll around the house, washing dishes and cooking while attached to an IV pole, can do that to a guy heh
Just be careful when you do start exercising again, the last thing you want to hear is an "I told you so."

Hugs everyone, hope you are doing well xoxo

Hi, everyone... I have been busy and haven't posted in here much this week. Ended up feeling like taking a few PJ days this week!!! We had some very high winds and a couple of days of health alerts due to all the dirt in the air. I did a bit of scrapping, but mainly just kicked back and relaxed... along with getting all the laundry done. We moved our family chat to Thurs evenings and DD#2 and I chatted for almost 2 hours that evening.

@bcgal00 ,,,, so excited for Jen over her big win. How wonderful that she shared some with you. What a wonderful way to start the holidays. Hope the bridge is feeling better and you can start eating more normal meals soon. Sorry to hear about B's setback and hope they can figure out what needs to be done for her.

@faerywings so sorry to hear you are having some side-effects due to the booster... about what I had, too. That coffee butter sounds wonderful. And the air freshener with that fragrance. BTW, I am a slow crochet person, too. It would take me forever to get those bags done. Give me fabric and ribbons and I can whip out a bunch in no time. :) How sweet of you to make rice pudding for your Dad's birthday.

@Cherylndesigns I think a walking stick would be so helpful for you. Glad the mint in the tea helped with your heartburn. My mom had a long bed of mint growing at their house and we loved to crush it in our iced tea in the summer. Think your hubby just wants you to take care and make sure you are healed before you take on very much. Our guys would be lost when we are down - so understand his concern.

@taxed4ever ... wow, that is quite a project. Can't wait to see the photos of the fireplace project. My hat is off to you and your hubby for all the home reno's that you have done.

@tanteva - hope you stay well while the other workers are ill... very worrisome when it sounds like most have been.

Can't believe it is almost the middle of November... I need to work on some challenges. I feel like I am way behind on getting them done. CYL

Morning everyone! Whatyaknow, its not raining LOL. DH and I are almost finished the fireplace and I think it is going to look great! I will wait until all the tape is removed and then take a photo of the finished project. Hopefully I can post it here later today or tomorrow. I am helping out at the Art Show and Sale tomorrow morning for a couple of hours and then I really need to get my housework done. I have been a slacker in that dept. all week long. Will get laundry started today and then DH and I will be doing some shopping. I spent far too much money at the Craft Store yesterday, but got so many pretty things to get my Christmas Cards started! I really need to get another calendar page done also, so busy!! It took me most of the day to get the marble effect done on the fireplace yesterday, so not much else got worked on. When my Gary got home from work I realized that I hadn't even thought about what to have for dinner, so we ordered our fav burgers and I went and picked them up. They were so good! A nice glass of wine together afterward and we just settled in to watch a movie and then an early bedtime. We were both exhausted! Up early this morning and DH is now working on the seal coating of the fireplace. I will hit the shower and get ready to go shopping in a bit.

@faerywings - sorry you are having some side effects from the Booster! Hope that you are feeling better very soon! Not sure when we will be getting our Booster shots, probably not until January. Sure hope no ill effects from it, but then we never had any symptoms from the first two, so we should be ok. We were very lucky! As for the fireplace, we cleaned all the tile with tsp, then painted two coats of primer, two coats of exterior white paint. It's a more durable paint, so we choose to use exterior paint. Then I mixed up a light grey and painted a marble effect on the white, used a spray bottle and sea sponge to get the right look. It was tedious, but it turned out pretty good and we are both happy with it. Now a couple of coats of minwax polyacrylic and it should be good to go. Sounds like your coffee butter is going to turn out for you! Hooray! Your baskets sound amazing, whoever gets them will be so lucky! My sister is also making gnomes for Christmas gifts, they are so cute and seem to be the popular thing this year! Your Dad will be so happy to have his rice pudding! (not my fav ). My Dad loved it also, must be that generation. I hope you have a lovely time together!

@bcgal00 - Rae sounds like you had a wonderful day of shopping and got some great finds!

@Cherylndesigns - The colours sound amazing and lucky you for having such lovely days! Sorry you had an upset tummy, but yes mint is a great cure for that. That and ginger also works for me. I have two walking sticks for when I hike, I don't always use them both but they sure are a great help when I have steep up and down hikes! They are the collapsible kind I love them!!

Kay - How great that you had a few PJ days! I have never been able to do that, just can't stand staying in my PJ's all day and night. Yes DH and I have been very busy with projects, its good to keep him busy doing things otherwise he goes stir crazy doing nothing!! Nice that we save some $$ too. I need to work on the challenges also, but need to find the time to actually do it. LOL.

Ok off to the shower I go and hope that you all have a fab day!

I've been super tired all day . Just sitting here on the sofa, watching the telly & crocheting. Working 2 days in a row really makes me tired. No plans for the weekend other than relaxing.

Sunday is Father's Day here in Sweden. But you know me, we won't bother. Both my father & Urban's father is gone, it's really up to John, and I'm sure he don't know anyway.

Good morning ladies. Jen is coming any minute and we'll bring all 3 dogs in the car while we go out shopping this morning. They love to hang out in the back seat. They wear seat belts which keep them safe but also keep them from getting into trouble when we are not in the car with them. I'll be back later to read thru the personals.

Good afternoon! Adrienne, Ava and I spontaneously went into town yesterday after we went into The Mercantile. Ava's shop looks awesome and she's really spread out since I was there. She's helping them with their marketing so much that they gave her more space. There's SO much in there since a few days ago! They're really gearing up for Christmas! I could spend a fortune in there! I got the coolest old shabby chic window with a wreath hanging on it - it has "my red truck" on it!! That and tartan plaid are my signature Christmas looks. One of the artists had put it together and I got it for $29!!! I about dropped over! I'll post a picture tomorrow. I have this long narrow "credenza" that I had nothing hanging over - I've been waiting for just the right thing. I found it yesterday! I'm going to make a big red tartan plaid bow for the top of the wreath - it needs that. Adrienne hung it for me the minute we got home.

We're going back into town this afternoon - we're trying to shop local as much as we can this year and there are so many little boutiques and one awesome department store in town. There's another smaller store that's just brimming with plaid - which is my weakness. I have so many plaid flannel shirts. LOL

Yesterday was so fun and spontaneous - we decided to go for coffee to this very cool coffee shop in town. LOL we forgot they also had alcohol, so it was "wine over coffee". It was 5 o'clock somewhere. We're going back earlier for some brunch and Mimosas. They have wonderful unique food goodies, too. I had avocado toast with mozzarella cheese and a fresh tomato on top.

Yes, Chris @faerywings it's been so good to get out. I'm going to make ice cubes out of some of my herbs - I found a recipe where you infuse it with olive oil and put it in ice cube trays. I want to make some strawberry ice cubes too - how good would they be in the middle of winter? Do you have a special rice pudding recipe? My granny used to make the best rice pudding and I've only had it a handful of times that it came close to hers. There was a little restaurant in Michigan that had it and it came close.

Chris, Trudy and Kay, I'm definitely getting a walking stick! I haven't found one yet, but they have them online. I think I might get a folding one, Trudy @taxed4ever - thanks for verifying that for me - some of them do fold up. Chris @faerywings thanks for telling me the length, too. I think I told you all that I found a big long stick last year, but it disappeared. I think Chuck threw it away - he doesn't understand my affinity for sticks, rocks, etc. I probably didn't tell him what I wanted it for, in all fairness.

You're all right about Chuck being so overprotective. He would totally lose his mind if anything happened to me. He gets more upset over me EVER having anything wrong than he has ever gotten over anything else in our 40 years.

I'd better get off of here and start getting cleaned up. She'll probably be wanting to leave in an hour or so.

Waving to all and Happy Saturday!

Hello lovelies!
I'm an awful person but I'm not read the cat from days and have no idea what happens with you, please excuse me!
November was supposed to be cheerful month as we have lots of family holidays in it, but instead of that we was bombarded with the bad news from our acquaintances. So, selfishly I had to protect all my energy and used it to stay excited so to be able to keep my vibration high, and not fell in the hole around the holidays.
I can't believe that half month went so fast, and I'm hopping from next week to get back on track at O, because I miss you so much!

I was able to see only few things here and there and
on a first place @scrap-genie thank you so much for the poinsettia, I saw it with delay, but this photo made my day!
@Cherylndesigns congratulations, about your new store with Ava! How many talents this girl hide in her sleeve? I'm wish her headwind at this new adventure!
@taxed4ever congrats for your exhibition! I'm so proud with you!

Wave to all other girls, I'm sorry that I'm so behind, but hope that you are well! And will see you soon (hopefully tomorrow)!

I am back to feeling better, 24 hours and done. The covid booster made me feel terrible all day but worth it. I made the rice pudding and a card (Reminder: You still have to print it) and tidied the house a tiny bit while the rice was cooking.
In the afternoon, I started to crochet another soap sack and ended up ripping out the entire thing. I shouldn't have wasted my time, my head and eyes hurt and my brain was like mush. I have no idea where I messed up but I did. I'll try again later. or I will stick with the same pattern I did before. That one came out great.

My parents are going to be here in a couple of hours so I will do quick personals and then get everything ready for them.

Hugs!!

@BrightEyes I took a PJ day yesterday too. It is necessary on occasion. Good to see you back here. The winds must have been really bad to get the air quality alerts. We ended up with strong t-storms and hail. Scott's Sunset Hike was canceled. You are such an incredible scrapper-- I doubt that you are as far behind in challenges as you think you are :)

@taxed4ever How exciting that the fireplace is coming along and looking great. You are so talented. I'm not surprised that you weren't thinking ahead about dinner, you have been working non-stop. The burgers/wine must have hit the spot.

@tanteva Tell Urban that we said Happy Father's Day!

ugh-- sorry to hear that you have a sore throat. :( Feel better

@bcgal00 You have to take a pic of the dogs in their seatbelts. It is a law in NJ that dogs are supposed to be belted but I don't know anyone who does. We don't drive long distances with mine, usually just to the vet which is <1 mile. I bet they look adorable back there. Hope you had a fun day with Jen.

@Cherylndesigns I am so happy for Ava, that girl in non-stop. Awesome score on the window/wreath!
I love the idea of shopping local, you are very lucky to have shops like that around. I can shop locally if I want to get beer or pizza. :/
Bwuahahah!! "wine over coffee" I saw a meme yesterday of a wine glass saying to a coffee mug: "She likes me better"
The recipe for rice pudding is from allrecipes.com, the only changes I make are a little less sugar, no salt, and a ton of cinnamon

@felis So sorry that things were bad for your friends and you needed to withdraw a bit. Hopefully, that is all past and you can hang with us, you know we will be happy <3

Quick good morning to you all!! I am off to help out with the art show and sale this morning. They are making me be the greeter to the Artists that are dropping off their Art Work. I am a bit nervous LOL. However it will be a great way to meet a bunch of new people. I am only going for a couple of hours, so hopefully it works out well. Wanted to get the before and after shots of the fireplace posted for you all. We are very happy with the way it turned out! What should we work on next?? LOL
Anyway I hope you all have a lovely Sunday, I will catch up with you all later on.

Good morning, ladies. Its been a busy wkend. Shopping and visiting yesterday with Jen, editing, binge watching a show and then at dinnertime the power went out. So I read by candlelight for the evening. The power came back on just before bedtime. Today we're heading out to run a few errands. Heavy rain today and tomorrow so I'm staying home with the dogs, no visit to the park for a few days. I don't mind taking them when it is light rain but it is just nasty out there, a steady heavy downpour.

@faerywings Glad you are feeling better after your booster shot. Ripping apart your project and having to restart, I sure did that a lot over the years I did yarn projects. Don't stress, go back to the pattern you enjoyed and had success with if you struggle with this one.

@taxed4ever Have fun today and good luck with the showing. Even if you don't sell anything, it is great exposure and you get to network with people. The fireplace looks great. I'm not surprised, you are multi-talented :)

@tanteva Oh no...feeling sick. Sending you healthy vibes.

I'm getting out of here and getting some editing done. I need to finish up the client photos today, then I can get back to my own stuff. Have a great day everyone.

Morning, gals... Woke up early and decided to scrap a challenge page while the house warmed up enough for me to take my shower. Decided to make the bed before the shower. I had my legs braced while I was pulling the sheet, blanket and down comforter up the head of the bed when I felt my right knee "pop"... This is my bad one that has surgery on a torn meniscus, dislocated knee cap and cracked knee cap (over the years). Was hoping that the hot shower water would ease it but - NOPE... didn't help much. Decided to dig out my knee brace but couldn't find the heavy-duty one with the metal side supports with swivels. Put on the lighter weight brace but it wasn't doing the job I needed. Finally found the heavy-duty one about an hour later and put it on. Dug out one of my canes and will be using it too when I am moving around. Have a short foot stool under the office desk so I can rest the foot on it while keeping the knee straight. Guess I won't be up on my feet much today. Having 'been through the wars' with that knee, I know what to do... keep the brace on 24/7, stay off of it, and take OTC pain pills. If it gets worse, I can switch to the hip to ankle brace to keep from bending the knee - I got it when I cracked the knee cap. Really need to the cane if I have to start using that one. What a PITA to have this happen.

@taxed4ever ... great job on the fireplace re-do... thanks for sharing the photos with us. Have fun at the art show.

@faerywings - glad you are feeling much better now. So sorry you had to unravel the bag and start over again. Hope the birthday party goes well.

@tanteva Oh, NO... not a sore throat now. Drink hot tea with lemon and honey to help with it.

Forgot to take any pain meds, so going to hobble into the kitchen for them and then on to the recliner with a book. CYL

Good afternoon! I'm gone for half a day and come back to "popped knees", sore throats and bad reaction to the booster!!! I was feeling pretty good today. J/K - Kay @BrightEyes bless your heart - you don't need your knee going out right now! I hope you found the brace you were looking for. It's for sure a PITA!!

Trudy @taxed4ever your fireplace looks beautiful!! It looks exactly like the one we have, but ours is dark brown wood. Is it electric? Ours is, but boy does it throw out the heat. We can turn the heat completely off (just use it for ambience) or there are 4 different heat degrees. We turn it on every evening summer or winter. I had wanted one since we moved in, but we procrastinated and after we had that cold snap last winter, we got one. Now, as long as our electricity doesn't go out -
your art greeter job sounds like so much fun! When we lived in FL, I was very involved in the art scene. (That was a few years ago, but it was great fun. During "Season" we had a function almost every weekend. Robert Rauschenberg was still living and he was always at our functions. What a thrill to have gotten to meet "America's Greatest Living Artist"! He was elderly then and traveled with his entourage - they would literally come "sweeping in" like the celebrity that he was. His home was on Captiva Island and we had several amazing soirees at his beach home.

Eva @tanteva hope your throat is better!

Chris @faerywings I'm sorry you had a reaction to your shot. That's why I'm afraid to get it. I know I'll cave, because Chuck wants to get them. I thought we were going this week, but it didn't happen. I've had a really great weekend! Went back to town yesterday with Adrienne and Roger's son and DIL came over and she went with us. I think I got about all of my shopping done. Braden had me stumped and Adrienne found a leather, hand made, knife case that she said he'd love, so I got it.

No coffee/wine house though. We didn't have time.

Waving to all.

Hello girls!
I'm proud to report that one of mine adult duties was crossed from my list today! Yay, for me being responsible! This is the third time when we are try to choose government this year and I don't care much anymore, as no one do what politics tells to us, and none politic tells to us what they do. But today was combination with choosing of president and I never miss that.
The only option we have for voting is to go to the near school, and it last it takes around 15 minutes for other of my family I'm always the one with stranger stories. The man 2 position before me accidentally broke the machine, the woman before me wasn't able to vote properly and started scandal. I had to wait 1 hour until they repair the machine and continued with the voting process. The tech guy was flirting with one girl from the commission, until constantly was calling all other of us Mrs! MRS!!! Puff, I hate aging so much! Completely objective I can guaranty you that me and her boss was much better dressed, but she have on her side the factor youth. It's illegal to use phone inside, and I was not able to use Insta or even to went as my ID card was already in them. So I have to watch whole darn hour how the 'young' flirt, and in additional one very noisy men from the commission was making stupid jokes or giving advice to the tech guys and play it Johnny know it all. When finally my turn came (will repeat it again an hour later) he start to give me advises, rough interrupting and shouting the lady that actual job is to assist us, obviously trying to underestimate her and blaming her explanations for the previous troubles, so I couldn't stand it anymore and told him: ''Mister please, shut the f**k up!'' . He was shocked, but all other ladies around started to giggling nervous. The good thing of being elder is that when you stop caring to be attractive you can be just direct.

Chris, I'm also decided to give soaps for Christmas gifts. I found online store for eco, bio, handmade soaps, and it's also local, so Cheryl at least one of mine items is also local bayed! Will crochet also small exfoliating cloths with them.

Trudy, the fireplace Is just marvelous! You are done amazing job! Can I hire you and Gary for small renovation project and pay you with cat? No?! Are you sure, as it will be very fat cat!
OMG, the art show sounds so fancy, I'm so happy for you! Wish you visitors in Christmas mood that to buy everything in few hours!:D

Rae, sorry to hear that the power went off and messed your plans! Is that because of the storm?
Oh, I saw few days ago about the J prise, I'm so happy for her luck!

Eva, get well soon! Are you fan of the tea and herbs healing? Did you know that honey helps a lot for the throat? Big spoon of honey and vanilla few times per day. Or honey at your Echinacea tea, but not in hot tea.

Cheryl, you are so sweet on the insta photos! Seriously what is Ava's secret for energy?

Loved reading through everyone's updates. Been a crazy week for me, I returned back to work a little over a month ago and I THINK I'm slowly adjusting and juggling everyone's schedules. One of my friends had a holiday shopping even Friday evening with gorgeous home decor and of course the items I wanted were sold out. LOL.

On Saturday, I actually met up with a fellow digi-scrapper and we had lunch with some fabulous mimosas. LOL.

My daughter and I enjoyed milling about this walkable area that will be near our new home... and it made us extra excited about the new build.

Today has been full of laundry and grocery shopping. Which is my typical Sunday.
