And we have a new a new week again. Will I be any more organized this time around? I sure hope so. I am shocked (and more than a little terrified!) that the holidays are literally around the corner. I scared the you know what out of my kids last night when I said that Thanksgiving is next week.
:hurt:

The house is really coming along nicely. Everyone agrees. It is crazy how much we did in a little more than a month, starting with me refinishing the table. I really should have taken before/after photos of everything.
I started to put the books that I am keeping back onto the bookshelf that we are keeping in the BR now. The one that was in the BR (smaller) is now upstairs in the media room by Gary's mess. I mean, desk. heh.
I have several boxes of books and another knick-knacks packed up and ready to be donated to a Veteran's Group but when I went to request a pick-up, I am out of the area. I will bring them down to my ILs next week and have her request a pick-up from her house.

I am off to the DMV with Cait this morning. She needs to get a new license and now that she is 21 it has to be a different format and then after 2020, NJ is going to yet another format with higher security features.
I have license plates to drop off too. We are going to the dollar store that is next door and maybe I can start with some stocking stuffers.
Then I have to get my food shopping/coupons set for tomorrow. So much fun! ;)
I started to scrap a page for a challenge and will work on that if I have time too.

HAGD!!

Jean- that is neat that you learned a lot of history at the seminar. Ancestry.com must be doing a lot of new DNA revisions. My kids got an email a couple of weeks ago with updated information. The area of England/Scotland that their DNA came from was refined. (they asked me if I got one too and I laughed-- I am not from there!) But I got one this weekend too, and I am now 95% Italian heritage and 5% Middle Eastern. I used to have DNA traced to the Caucuses but that is now gone. Fascinating how this works. I was always told that I was 100% Italian and it seems to be practically spot on.

xoxo to all of my busy O-Fam!

This is one picture I took on Saturday, a view from my front door. You can't really tell from the picture but this is the island that was made from an A&P cash register counter. My DR is to the right of the front door and the LR area is to the left in an L-shape. Just so you have an image in mind when I :blah:

I need to get to work on sorting, cleaning, and organizing some things. I have really enjoyed my scrapping therapy this month with the o'challenges. One week until my boy will be home from college! We can't wait! My plan is to step away from the computer for a bit to get ready for the holidays. Hopefully, I can come back and scrap some challenges while he is back for finals in early December. I am extra excited about the holidays this year! It's so good to be all together again!

Morning ladies... So absent from here over the weekend! I had another busy couple of days! Yesterday DH and I got busy cleaning out the garage and putting away all the garden things that were hanging on the back fence. Uggh they were covered in spider eggs etc. But all clean now and tucked away until next spring. Then I cleaned off the front porch and put away my pumpkins and made room for the Christmas things that will be put out there in the next few weeks. DH had to make me another cradled wood canvas because yup I got another commission to do a turtle painting. This one is going to a fellow who lives in Kentucky. My last one is ready to mail and so I will have to get that to the post office or the FedEx office tomorrow, I will have to see who offers better shipping rates. I need to make a birthday card for my SIL too, it is her birthday on Saturday and we are joining her and my brother for supper. It will be our good-bye dinner also as they leave on their trip to Australia on the 1st of Dec. They are excited to get going and be with their kids and grands again! I think this time they will be gone for 4 months and I am beginning to wonder if once my SIL's mother is no longer with them, if they will move there for good? Praying for rain for those in Australia affected by the horrible fires, thankfully it is not where my niece and nephew live! Not yet anyway  So today I have to get the sign that I am doing for my sister's friend sanded and put a coat of paint on it. Then I will have to put the writing on it and it will be done. Nothing fancy, so hopefully it will be a quick job!

Chris - Love the photo of your cute little island! Nice to see where you all hang out!! Good luck at the DMV today, hope that the line ups are not long and that you don't have to wait there for hours!! DH and I are hoping to go on a vacation this winter, so we decided not to do stockings this Christmas and only one small gift each. I will be hosting Christmas Dinner and we will do a Chinese gift exchange with his Mom and Dad and sisters etc. I think that they will all stay overnight so that will be fun! It just doesn't seem right that it is time to think about Christmas gifts, where has the time gone?? I also had a change in my DNA results, but I haven't had any time to really take a look at it yet LOL.

Cinda - Nice to see you here! Yup cleaning and sorting and organizing are on my list too! How wonderful that your son will be home from college soon! It will be wonderful to be together for the holidays! Your thanksgiving is so close to Christmas it must be stressful trying to get ready for it all!

Ok I am off to make the bed and do my usual morning chores, then hope to get some commenting done here. Sanding and painting and maybe, just maybe I might get a page started for one of the challenges! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I miss you all and just had to pop in. I feel like life is still busy (isn't it always?) but things are starting to settle into a pattern and I feel like I can breath again.

B is in a wonderful medically assisted foster home (she is their only tenant, having a small 2 bdrm apartment in the base of their newly built home). They are both nurses and one of them is always there to care for her medically. They provide all meals and take her out on outings all the time. They are just wonderful people and we are so grateful for this. I just pray that it continues, with our medical system, who know when they might make changes but...for now....she is well cared for. She is only 1/2 hr away too which is great considering some of the places were over 1.5 hrs away.

Our new schedule is spending Sundays with her, one afternoon a week for a few hrs and then any other time I want to pop out I can but have to check what activities they might be doing on those days. It's been almost 2 yrs since the TMI so it's been a long road til now.

So....that's the update.

I'm scrapping a lot more and having fun. I scrap more throughout the day (during break times from my desk work) and spent most nights relaxing with hubs, watching shows or reading. Taz is great and enjoys (demands) his twice daily walks.

So I feel like I can start hanging out more again and even bought some kits last night to maybe do a few challenge pages. So glad to be back! Really missed you all but needed a break and a change in my routine for awhile. Hope you all are good and looking forward to catching up with you all.

Chris - kitchen looks great. What a great idea to repurpose the counter.

Trudy - your painting has really taken off! I've seen some on FB and they are so beautiful.

I'm getting to work now so I can take a break and scrap at lunchtime. Have a great day, everyone.
