Happy, happy Monday!

Who is ready to start the week? Me! Where is all of this extra energy and excitement coming from?
Coffee!!
:coffeedrinker:

I have ta say... I am glad that I remembered it was Monday. With the kids away, I have no mental markers- even less than when they are here. At least I know that both kids usually work on Mondays.

you know what... I am going to post this right now- I see that Linda is online and she can pop in!

Good morning ladies. You are right @faerywings, I'm hopping in for a quick hello. Still trying to get myself back into the groove. Gorgeous morning on the lanai...except for the darned flies. Brian has taken that as a personal challenge however and has been killing them quickly.

I've been enjoying the nice cool breeze and the sunshine. And I've had two visits at the bird feeder. A tufted titmouse who ate and hung out for a couple of minutes. And a cardinal who just cam and perched on the stand to check it out. So, between the cool breeze and the sunshine and the air fresh from the rain...and birds at my feeder...I'm ready to start my week. And, by the way, only one more Monday after today, with Sydney out of the country!

WooHoo!

@vickyday thinking of you this morning!!

I'll be back later to see what is going on!

I hope that Linda sees this before she has to start working.

Yesterday was a kind of crummy-ish day here. The weather was cold and cloudy but no rain. I spent almost the entire morning pulling stuff out of the closet and trunk. I packed up a few more boxes and now I need some more of them. There were a bunch of old notebooks and papers in the trunk that I shredded/recycled. I found sooo much leftover IV abx, syringes, and tubing supplies from one of PICC lines. That hurt to throw out. Not because I have any sort of emotional attachment but when I think of how much they cost. *waves hand in front of my face to combat wave of dizziness* Probably $1000 worth of meds/supplies. The Claforin expired in 2015 so it isn't like I could have even donated it. Gary found boxes of old glucose monitors, 5 or 6 of them, and at least 2 old insulin pumps. Why we kept any of this?? Not a clue.
Sadly, if you looked in my closet it doesn't look any different. I still have way too much stuff piled up on the shelves.

Gary and I are making the Big Trip to the Bagel Shop today, thinking maybe early lunchtime. I think I might grab a sandwich and save half for dinner. Gary has some meat that I got at the FP that I won't touch. Ick.
I am going to spend some time with the rats too. I make sure I chat with them every time I am upstairs but I bet they are lonely without Caitlyn. Two of the three will let me scoop them up and will hang out on my shoulders. Otter, she is more hesitant, and because she has nibbled at my fingers before, I don't reach to grab her. I wait for her to come to me.
Plans for the afternoon involve going out in the yard-- That is my Me Me Monday.

What is yours?

:pillowtalk:

@LSlycord yay! I'm glad that you had time to post this morning.
I saw the photos on FB and I have to say that the gator freaked me out a bit. Weren't you scared to see it so close? *shudders*

@vickyday sending you good thoughts and an easy test! BTW- I was going to tease you with the poop emoji but thought it was too cruel coming from me- glad you have such a good sense of humor! :D

@bcgal00 How nice to be getting back into reading again. Your book club is going to be great, I just know it.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the bagels are good, New Jerseyans are picky about bagels- and pizza. My niece who is at school in Oklahoma, said that the two foods that she won't eat out there are bagels and pizza. (sorry Cheryl :giggle4: !) When my parents come up, they bring bagels from their town since the other bagel place in my town isn't all that good.
Have you scrapped any pages of the baby birds? I really need to spend more time in the Gallery

@Cherylndesigns The well.... yikes... Same here, I am so conscious of how much water we use, especially when it is this dry. If it doesn't rain soon, I'll save some grey water for the tomatoes/herbs. My grass is pretty much dead as it is so that can stay dry.
Of our four dogs, only one hated the crate. She had separation anxiety and was kind of a mess but she will always be my soul mate so I don't care that she pooped in her crate and then flung it out. She was perfect. ♥

@vickyday Have you tried sea bands for nausea? Gary tried everything - Dramamine, ginger tea/root/candy, Marinol/dronabinol, and sea bands. Nothing worked for him, not even the Marinol but I know that other people with chronic nausea have had some success with them.
Cheryl-- is the Meclizine different and/or better than Dramamine? Maybe he can try that.

@LSlycord How neat that you are meeting again people in your new town! Good luck with your new birds. Still no sign of any hummingbirds at all for me. I'm still trying to be patient but you know me :waiting:
I hope Syd is feeling all better soon.

Good Monday Morning everyone! It is our Grandson Mason's 10th birthday today, not sure where the years have gone, but its hard to believe that he is in the double digits:holysheep: already! Another very busy weekend with my DH!! He is slowing down a bit though, he has a hernia that needs to be attended to, but will he make that appointment?? :hahano:. Insists that he needs to get his dental work finished first, WTH?? Why can't men do more than one thing at a time?? Anyway, I had to help do a lot more in the way of any heavy lifting over the weekend. Why is it that men get hernias an women do not?? It is a lovely morning, lots of sunshine and warm temps, but oh my goodness we are getting so dry here, we sure could use a good rain for a few days! Not rain in the forecast however at least not until Friday, we will see. I got all of my household cleaning done yesterday along with almost a full afternoon of yard work, helped DH get the truck loaded with garden waste so he could take it to Bings Creek and then at the end of the day we enjoyed a few hours of sitting on the upper deck with some wine an enjoyed the beautiful view. Some of our backyard work should be a bit less now that our neighbours behind us have finally taken down the dead tree that was along the fence HORRAY!! No more dead branches every time there is a big wind storm. So I have a few more things to do here at the O this morning and lots of catching up to do in the forums! I hope to at least get a page started today. Tomorrow I get my hair cut and coloured, Wednesday our hike is going to be in a beautiful area near me, so I am looking forward to that! Thursday will be a shopping day for a new outfit to wear to my school reunion that starts on Friday. I will have a full week! Not sure if I will be able to fit in a kayak morning this week or not.

@faerywings - Don't you just love all the new smileys!! The little fairy one that reminds us all of you is so cute!! :dancingbfly: . It sounds like you have been very busy purging, its always a good thing to do! Yes I had a lot of medication that was expired in my medicine cabinet too, it got safely dropped off to the pharmacy where they can dispose of it properly and not get flushed down the toilet. I hope that you manage to get your shelves cleaned up in your closet, it always feels so good to get rid of unused items! Wish I could convince my MIL to do that LOL. Hoping that the weather is a bit warmer for you today! Enjoy your trip to the bagel shop! I hope you find a yummy sandwich for your lunch/dinner!

I need to go and catch up on what happened over the weekend with everyone and will try to get more personals done later on. I am sure that Heather will be calling to catch me up on her weekend adventures!

Quick hello this morning, I need to get ready to head out to the travel agent soon. We'll be choosing our next cruise for 2024, probably the British Isles or South America. I'm so excited.

I'll check in later. HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

I thought I'd jump on here early too as I'm up earlier than usual. I purged yesterday too - my office. I couldn't find one of my "weird" chargers and tore the place apart looking for it. Never did find it, but I found quite a few other things that I had been missing. I found my original iPod Nano - I was so excited and charged it up and it still works like a charm. Also found my big Ipod, but it has a really weird charger, so I have to find that now. It's one of those with aigger ones they came out with - lots of Gigs on it and has a lot of old pictures on it, so I'd love to retrieve those. My Nano also has lots of pics on it. Let's see, I also found a gemstone that I had hung on some cord to wear - I thuught that was gone forever. It was like a treasure hunt. LOL I know there were a few more things I found.

Chris @faerywings we had one dog who had separation anxiety too and wouldn't go in a crate. He was a big dog and we left him in it one time and he destroyed it! We never crated him again. He also tried to dig his way out of a bedroom twice, by destroying the carpeting under the door. Chuck had left him in there while he went out. One time was at his mother's house. She was not very happy, even after Chuck replaced her carpeting. He always did something if we left him alone for too long. One time, we went away for a week but had a dog sitter. While she wasn't there, he shredded all of my bamboo blinds in the living room - we think he was trying to get out of the windows. Like you, Bailey was Chuck's soulmate, so that dog could have done anything. He broke his crutia (?) ligament when he got older and Chuck rigged up a little cart so he could get around. He even held his back legs so he could walk. Chuck stayed with him when we had to put him down and he said he'd never do that again. So, I totally get it.

"Cheryl-- is the Meclizine different and/or better than Dramamine? Maybe he can try that." @faerywings Meclizine it TOTALLY different from Dramamine. It's just packaged under the Dramamine brand. We get ours on Amazon, because it's so expensive at the drug store. Meclizine is the OTC of the anti-nausea prescription Antivert. We only found out about Mecklizine when my sister went to her doctor to get a script for Antivert. He told her that it was also sold OTC now. I took Antivert for years because I have horrible motion sickness - beyond Dramamine help. My dad also took it for years - he had vertigo and terrible bouts with nausea. That was how we first found out about Antivert. I would definitely have Gary try it. Dramamine is ok, but it's mainly for motion sickness. I won't be without Meclizine! It's packaged under the Heartland Brand, and we get 100 tablets, on Amazon. If you get it in the drugstore, it's about $8 for 6 pills. But pick some up there first and have him try them. They're $7.99 for a hundred on Amazon. I get the pills - not dissolvable ones.

Our grass is completely brown - we can't sprinkle it and it only gets rain, so it is what it is. Linda @LSlycord Our well doesn't run dry - it just gets overloaded and shuts off if somebody leaves the hose on for hours and hours. It only takes about an hour to regenerate. There's city water close to us, but we don't know how much it's going to cost to get it run over here. Roger's working on that. Chuck made a bunch of phone calls and we found out that it was doable. That's life "in the middle of nowhere". I personally don't want to DRINK city water - our well water is very good and we have filters on our refrigerators and Chuck put a filter on the cold water in the kitchen sink. We'd like city water to water our gardens and fill the pool. We want a big famiy garden, but we can't have that until we can get a way to water it.

Vicky @vickyday thinking of you today. I know you'll be glad when this is over.

Trudy @taxed4ever Happy Birthday to Mason!! Yes, they grow up so fast! Asher will be 12 next month! Good luck with your Gary - no, they can't do two things at once. :floorlaugh:

I'm going to get going and do some work around here - on the board and in the house. I've already dusted the furniture - big step for this early in the morning.

XOXO

I have not heard of sea bands.

Good Afternoon!
Well, I survived the prep and the procedure without any nausea or anything else, really. Polyps were found so those will be sent for testing and something else that she sent for testing, too.
We stopped at KFC on the way home. I ate a drumstick and some mashed potatoes with gravy and a biscuit. Had to stop at that. My stomach is gurgling so I will have to take it easy the rest of the day.
And since Mark was in the room when the nurse said, "no working the rest of the day" I'm going to take advantage of it! ;)
Have a great afternoon and thanks for your thoughts of me today! Now you can pray with me for positive results with the biopsies!

Hello!

Yes, It is me popping in... finally!!! I sure have missed being here over the past few months. The hands are doing much better but still can't spend a lot of time typing so it will hit or miss for awhile. Still on a bland diet (ugh) but the gastritis has calmed down. DD#1 left to go home on Friday... and DD#3 stayed with me until midday Sunday. I am able to drive if I need things but mainly resting, reading and taking it easy. I made my 1st Layout and posted it today.
