Happy Monday and Last Day of June!
I know that I have said it so many times, but Wow! June really flew by.

Today, however, I am asking for good thoughts for my BFF Across the Street. She called me last night at dinner time asking if I had aspirin. I grabbed it and met her on the street. Her husband was having chest pains and didn't want to go to the ER. And -- he is an EMT! (Men!! so damn stubborn). Anyway, she finally gets him to go. She calls me later, he had a heart attack, full blockage, stent was being put in. She texted me again later on to say that he was out of surgery, and on his way to ICU.

So any good thoughts you have for them, please send them along.

The crazy thing going on in my head (and her's) is he is so young. 50. That is it. We are too young for this. Me- cancer at 45, him hear attack at 50. Although I have to laugh-- years ago, I would have thought 45 and 50 were *ancient* Age is relative, I guess LOL

Hope that you all have a fantastic Monday. Don't forget to finish up any of the Monthy Challenges and get them into the June Tracking Thread

Nancy- your dinner sounds yummy! Pulled pork was one of the few meat dishes I really liked. Happy Anniversary to your ds!

jean- you have such a neat life- so many fascinating interests- art, birding, genealogy. But your yogurt was a nice treat.

Trudy- *snorts* that is too funny about your DH not wanting to take the extra day off.
This year our 4th of July is a Friday so we get the 3 day weekend. But usually it seems like that day just chops into the week. Glad that you survived Costco. I am off to Shop Rite soon, so wish me luck on that. Not so much for crowds but for my sanity! LOL

Hugs and love!

Chris, thinking of your neighbor today. you know, 50 is not that unusual for a heart attack, especially if he has family history. i can't believe he didn't want to get to the hospital, and he's an EMT! but sometimes all of this just seems so random. we have NO cancer in our extended family. none. but in my generation, we've got one breast cancer and one colon cancer.

Trudy, i think our husbands are related:
Most have taken the extra day off to make it a very long weekend, but not my DH, oh no he would never do that!!
or maybe it's just these "law enforcement types." my husband is the straightest arrow ever. glad to hear that Mason is sleeping now. speaking as someone who's always up in the middle of the night, at least once, it does wreak havoc with a person's mood. :)rant: <- me....)

Jean, i think doing genealogy research was some of the most fun i've ever had. SO enjoyable when you find something!

Nancy, congrats on your hitch. when you've got the equipment you need, it makes things so much easier. i can't even imagine trying to get a bike of a car roof!

well, back from the whirlwind trip to DS's house. it was a pretty nice visit, except for a few temper tantrums featuring The Grandmen in rare form. it will probably be at least a year before i see them again. :hurt:

i'm pretty much stuck at home this week. DD's car went goofy while we were gone, so she brought it out here yesterday and i let her have mine, so she can get to work. looks like a few days at least of housework, etc. does this happen to anyone else? you can do all kinds of dusting and floor scrubbing and the house STILL doesn't look much better? maybe that's because my house doesn't look that great to begin with!! :pound:

OK. off to take the zucchini almond flour muffins out of the oven. have a great day! :becky:

Morning O fam- I took today, the rest of the week and next Monday off. I already have it packed full, but hope to find time to stop in at the O! We have to use our paid time off for not working the holiday, and we do not have the choice to go in and work instead. I am hoping that only lasts another year or two with the transitions going on at work.

Finally stopping by. Life just seems sooo busy right now.

Chris - That is scary about your neighbor. Definitely sending good thoughts and prayers his way (and for his patient wife, too).

Phylis - Glad you had a great time at DS' house. And yes, I can totally relate to cleaning the house and then having it look like you didn't do anything. UGH! Oh, and those zucchini almond flour muffins sound delish!!!

Laurie - Yay! Enjoy your time off. Make sure to do something fun for yourself in the midst of all that busyness. :)

As for me, Monday was full of summer school in the morning, editing in the aft (and somehow fitting in a quilting how-to with our neighbor's teenage daughter). And now that evening is here, I'm getting ready to attack the pile of laundry that needs to be folded. Ahhh..exciting times indeed! ;)

Hope your Monday is fabulous! :)

good morning well we had a great dinner but our guest cancelled LOL. So we watched the Lego Movie. OMgosh it is funny. We laughed as we tried to figure out all the clues and who were the voices. It is really as much an adult film as a kid film especially for us as we must have had all the lego sets they mention. So fun. A really nice way to end the weekend.

Chris I am so sorry about your neighbor. Sending good thoughts and prayers! And yes where did this month go.

Phylis so glad you had a good weekend. Hope the car is fixed soon.

Laurie have a great vacation!

Have a great day all!

Already past noon, but want to stop by. We had a nice turnout at our show and the frozen yogurt was super, especially the vegan raspberry-chocolate. One friend couldn't make it, so we're having lunch with her in July and seeing the show then.

Chris, how scary with the neighbor! Sounds like he got good care. Hope he is going to be fine.

Phylis, glad the visit went (mostly) well. Hope you have video chats and all while they're away.

Trudy, not taking the extra day reminds me of talk we've had recently of folks still working full time well into their 70s. Everyone's idea of their life is clearly different!

Nancy, still seeing any birds in your NJ summer?

Laurie, is having a packed full schedule really your idea of time off? ;)

Hope everyone has a great day.
