Whoops! I started to type December up there^^

I feel like I have been going circles, around and around and around- then throw in some time loops and figure eights. Hahaha.
(Grammarly desperately want me to rewrite that sense. Sure, it is confusing- it is supposed to be!)
((Now it wants me to rewrite that last sentence. Not gonna do it!))

#crazy-2

I didn't get any scrapping done. I didn't even open PS up. My scrap time was instead spent talking to my brother about childhood vacations and our cousins and my parents' old cars. How we would drive to ME in the bag of the station wagon with the seat folded down, lying in our sleeping bags. My brother remembered going to Gettysburg when Dave Righetti pitched a no-hitter (HOW does he remember this stuff???). I Googled that and got a date, July 4, 1983. That was the 2nd time that we went, we went once before when I was younger. I have a photo of that time already scanned. After I got off the phone with him, I got lost again. I found an article in the New York Magazine from May 1977 and grabbed some screenshots of that too.
That took up 4 hours of the afternoon and I could not sit at my desk any longer.

Maybe today I'll finish the LO.

Scott went back to work today. he said he was pretty surprised at how well he, Sam, and Pup made it through 5 days of quarantining in one small room. I laughed and said no way could Dad and I do that. Maybe when we were first dating but not now! bwahaha!!! Cait and Tom went to a wedding venue and they think it has some good possibilities. It's a family-owned Italian restaurant/ballroom that has been here for 40 years. The people they met with were super nice, very accommodating, and upfront with all of the costs and fees. The head chef met with them and seemed pretty excited to come up with a vegan menu. And-- it is in their budget with some wiggle room.

I am cleaning here this morning, then taking W for her rabies shot. I hope to get my CT page uploaded and then work some more and Karen's My Story project. It has gotten my entire family so engaged. My mom and dad have been talking about it. TO EACH OTHER!!!! :rotfl: I email them some of the info I find online and they love it!

HAGD!!!

Quick request please: My BFF asked me for any good thoughts for her son. He has gotten really down on himself with job prospects. He had an interview last week and hasn't heard anything. Still sending out resume after resume. So if you have a second, can you send him some good thoughts or if you pray, send up a small request, please?
#thanks-1

@vickyday hope that you sleep better last night. The night before sounds miserable :(

@bcgal00 That is way too cold! I can't complain too much this winter, but we are supposed to have a brutally cold Friday/weekend. Hope you and the pups stayed cozy. Poor Jen! No, she totally doesn't need that kind of stress. Just being around people like that raises my anxiety levels even if it's not directed at me, so I imagine that she feels like she is always on eggshells. The mini-vaca sounds perfect and just what she needs. Give her a hug from me.

@Cherylndesigns
:rotfl: at Ava! I can see her grabbing your laptop and saying, nope, you don't need this, let's add this app here, move that there. And voila! Hands the laptop back to you.
Infusing the vodka was fun- my ILs got us Titos, much better than the cheap stuff we buy but we only use it as a mixer. I took a sniff of the bottle and it didn't burn my nose, so I took a sip. Nope. Better than the cheap stuff but still not for me.

@BrightEyes That sounds like a wonderful project that DD#3 is doing and how lucky that you have photos and docs to share.
*fingers crossed super tight for getting an excellent price on the SUV*

Hugs!

Morning, gals. I slept wrong on my left arm and it is stiff this AM. UGH!! It is 26° F now... way too cold! But the good thing is that it actually made it into the 50's yesterday and should be the high's this week with clear to partly cloudy skies. Need to get dressed soon then pull the SUV out of the garage and onto the driveway so I can finish clearing things out of it before taking to the dealer this morning. It is too tight a squeeze to try to do it while it is in the garage.

After working on my grandmother's history - I sat down and wrote out the different houses I/we had lived in while in my home town. I don't have photos of them all but was able to figure out the year dates. Then I ended up pulling the Navy/Grumman albums I made of Bill's career and looking through them again yesterday afternoon. Laughed - and cried a bit - as the memories were recalled. So glad I have those done so my family will have them so they have some history of us.

Thanks for the good thoughts on the sale price, @faerywings. Sending good thoughts for your BFF's son. So glad that the talking about your history with the family and the parents has got them engaged... and great that they are talking to each other, too. LOL that your brother remembers a lot of details... some people have that knack. And glad to hear that Scott and Sam are feeling better.

@Cherylndesigns Glad you have Ava to help you with the new Mac. Did she get your PS and other software loaded for you?? A few years ago, DH bought a Mac and we both took a class from the Apple store on how to use it. We never could figure out where it 'hid' files, etc... He ended up giving to DD#3 as she used Mac's and liked them. DH then bought the HP tower that I am now using.

@bcgal00 Loved seeing photos of the dogs in the snowy fields on FB. Wow, that is a bunch of driving. Oh, poor Jen... no one should have to put up with verbal abuse from a boss. You were right to tell her to quit.

@LSlycord ... ooops, so sorry to mix up on Brian's name. Hope he is feeling better and you, too. Glad Shaun went to the store for the family. Resting and recovering is the best thing for you to do.

Off to get my shower and get dressed. HAGD

I just lost a long post by inserting a coffee cup. Ugh. I'll make it quick. I feel good, temps reaching the 80's today, talked to Syd a lot about the Study Abroad program, watched the KC Chiefs (my team) win last night. Overall mood is very good today. (And since you know me, the previous post had lots of emojis and lots of words.)

Now, off to get the refill and then I will be back for personals.

@faerywings I am so sorry for your nephew and I will absolutely pray for him. It is just such a crazy job market...and I worry that it will get worse before it gets better. Love that the family is all enjoying the trip down memory lane and so happy that Karen got you prompted to start this while everyone enjoys it. (Your parents talking to each other...say what?) Glad that Scott, Sam and Pup survived quarantine.

@BrightEyes sorry that you slept wrong on the shoulder. Love all of the details that you are documenting about your childhood. Hope that you get the price you want on the SUV and that will be done!

@vickyday so glad that you slept well. That's at least half the battle heading into the week!

@bcgal00 I am so glad that Jen shared with you the conditions that she is working under. That is terrible and I'm so glad that she is going to give her notice. No one should be treated like that, but especially not after everything she has been through. I'm sure that you will now need to find another place for the dogs when you travel. Ugh...

@Cherylndesigns hope that the Mac is getting better. I'm sure that you will love it once you get used to it!

@taxed4ever waving :waving1 and hoping that you have a good week ahead.

Good and Happy Monday Morning.....I hope!
Quick in and out today.
The sun is shining at the moment, but the weather says we are to have MORE rain this week! The ground is completely saturated already!
Today Ilene, Carolyn and I are going to a mini Bible conference of sorts. My pastor husband (DH#1) used to attend these "preachers' meetings" before he died. I love going to them! They start at 2 p.m. Two pastors preach and then we take a break at 3:30-4:00 for a snack. One more preacher before we dismiss for supper. The hosting church supplies the meal for all in attendance. The women of the church either cook the meal or it is catered or we go to a restaurant near by and the hosting church picks up the tab. At 7 p.m. the last preacher begins. Some of the preachers bring their wives and it is a time of great fellowship! The attendance is from three states: NC, VA, WV. Mark is usually able to take half a day off from work so we can attend, but not today because he just started a big job at work. So, I have a pot of veggie soup in the crockpot for him. We don't go to all of them. Mainly the 2 or 3 that are held here in NC. So I'll be gone all afternoon. The church is 40 minutes away so we will give ourselves an hour to get there. So I will pick Carolyn up around 12:45 and pick Ilene up and leave her house by 1:00. It will be late (for them) when we get back home.

Have a great day!

I'm so glad you are talking family memories while your parents are still with you! I sooooo wish I had thought to do that while mom and dad were still with us! And most of their families are gone, too. And I don't know the cousins well enough, or even know where they are, to be able to talk to them!

So glad Scott and Sam are better and free! Laughed at your comment about not being able to spend 5 days couped up in a room with your DH! I could stay there, no problem, as long as my computer was alive and well and I had my audiobooks and maybe some yarn. Mark......not so much! But, he would definitely quarantine out in the woods! First DH....yeah.....as long as he had his computer and his books!

Good morning ladies. I'll be getting ready to head out shortly. It is -9 at Clearwater and the snow starts late this morning so we'll get on the road this morning to get up there to Wells Gray Park and see the frozen waterfall. We want to make sure we are coming back in daylight with this freezing cold snowy weather. We decided not to spend the night, we'll come home and get in the hot tub, maybe order in a late dinner. Jen took the week off work and told the owner she would be looking for a new job, she needs a job with benefits. All the owner said was "no problem". I think she realizes she has stepped over the line and hopefully is letting Jen go graciously. We'll see if she starts bugging her next week (she fibbed and said she need to go to Vancouver this week so would be away). Now I just have to pray that Jen finds a job soon that treats her better and she feels more relaxed. She is a people pleaser and strives to do what everyone wants her to do. It makes her vulnerable in the workplace and relationships.

It should be a fun day out with the family and dogs. I need to go get dressed and start getting dog stuff together (its like traveling with kids LOL (treats, food, clothes, wipes, toys, etc).

HAGD everyone.

Good Monday morning everyone! There is not going to be enough coffee in my life this morning!! :javafix1:. We spent the whole afternoon and evening at SIL Linda's and drank way too much wine and stayed up way too late! Linda's boyfriend Mark is a bad influence on us LOL!! #devil We are too old to be doing that kind of craziness!! Oh well I have all day to re-coup, but poor DH has to be at work all day and Mondays are usually really busy for him! Poor Guy! We should have known better LOL. So not sure if I will get anything at accomplished today.

@faerywings - How great that your brother has such a wonderful memory! Nice that you have gotten your folks engaged in all of this story telling also! Sorry for your BFF's son!! I will keep my fingers crossed that he hears about a job soon! Heather is in the same boat, she can't seem to catch a break with a job offer either. Sending along all the positive thoughts I can to both of them today!

@BrightEyes - Uggh sorry that your arm is stiff from sleeping on it! I hate when that happens!! I hope it feels better while you are getting your car ready to take to the dealer! It will be great to have the room for your new vehicle! How nice to have the photo albums and history to look back through, so nice to reminisce !

@LSlycord - :waving1 back at you! Sorry you lost your long post, darn it! It is very chilly here this morning :brrr: minus 5º celsius so that would be 23º Fahrenheit. I bet you are glad that you are where you are today!!

@vickyday - Enjoy your day of fellowship today, hope you don't get back too late!

@bcgal00 - A chilly day for you today also, the cold seems to be hitting the whole country ! Good for Jen for not putting up with her boss's bad behaviour, you are right she certainly doesn't need that in her life right now or ever!! I hope that she can find a better job with benefits! Have a fun day at Wells Gray Park today, I look forward to the photos you will take of the frozen waterfall! Hope you packed plenty of treats for the whole family!!

Ok I have had a long face time with Heather so I am very late getting this post finished! I think I will attempt a nap now LOL. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning all.

It is 26 here this morning and we're getting winter storm warnings! EEKKK we thought we were going to skate through winter, but I guess not. I had an eye appt today, which they've already canceled - they called at 9 am to change it to next week. This weather doesn't look good and it's supposed to start snowing any minute. Looks like we're going to have a couple of snow days. The cat won't even go out. He keeps crying at the door, but gets a whiff of the cold and turns around and comes back in. :brrr:

Chris @faerywings good news that Scott's back to work and you're so right about staying in one room together. Makes me crazy to even THINK about 5 days of that. #angry2

I'm laughing about "the good stuff". That's like going to a bar and having to drink the "house drinks". I'm very picky about wine and can't stand the "house wines". A few of the restaurants here are actually starting to stock some good Moscato - it costs twice as much a glass, but I don't care. :hosed:When we go to Happy Hour - everybody else gets 2 for 1 and I only get 1.
:drinks2:

I will definitely be thinking of your friend's son. SO much of that going on with young people these days. It's so sad and I hope that he finds a way to get through this. Could he possibly get into some kind of therapy? I know it's expensive, but maybe he could at least find a support group - those aren't easy either, but he probably needs help from somebody outside the family.

Yes, Ava is a speed demon. I have NO idea what she's even doing half the time. I hate to tell her to slow down, but she's a thousand steps ahead of my brain. LOL She whips around on that thing like you wouldn't believe (oh yes, you would.) She got home so late Saturday night - she had driven for about 13 hours and I knew she'd be exhausted yesterday. She'll be over today or tomorrow - heck, I've had it for well over a week so what's a couple more days? Besides, my new keyboard comes tomorrow, we think. I can't even see the numbers/letters on that stupid keyboard they sent me. I'ts white on white - NO good for old eyes. Ava said it's not even a Mac keyboard. I wouldn't be able to use it anyway.

Kay @BrightEyes have you come off of cloud 9 over your new car yet? Sorry you slept on your arm and now it's sore. I can't sleep on my right side for very long - ever since I broke my clavicle. I try, every few nights and always wake up with it sore and stiff, too. That's when I put my sling on for a couple of hours. I'm glad you get it about the Mac. Chuck can't figure out why I'm having so much trouble - he's only ever had a PC and has no clue that it's like a foreign country! If I didn't have the kids to help me, I'd probably give up. Yes, the "hidden" stuff is what's making me crazy! That along with the fact that everything is backwards! What's used to be down is now up and vice versa. WHY????? #crazy-2

Linda @LSlycord how are you and Brian feeling? I'm not sure if I ever congratulated you on the new twins!!! How exciting! I know you're right about the Mac - once I get used to it I'm going to love it. Especially for PSE and PSCC - the monitor is SO big and I know it's going to be so much easier on my eyes when I make layouts. Just after messing around with it, I find my laptop so small!

Vicky @vickyday you have the busiest life - I'm sure your friends and you have a great time together.

I'm going to get off of here and take care of the end of the month stuff - wow - it's the end of January!!!

XOXO

Well, I am back home... Turns out the salesman wanted to buy the SUV for his father - not for the dealership. We dickered back and forth a bit... He said $***** and I said $***** and we settled in between - so we both were happy. He drove the SUV over to his Credit Union (less than a mile from my house and got me a cashiers check then drove me home and gave me the license plate (in this state - it belongs to me). It was my hubby's Disabled Vets plate so I can't use for the new car. While he was here I casually asked if he knew of anyone who might want a treadmill... well, he is going to talk to his wife and may be coming over to pick it up tomorrow afternoon!!! I will be thrilled to have it sold and gone. I made a quick trip over to AAA and got the SUV off my policy and over to the CU and deposited the check. And I am finally back home. At least the weather was good... it is now 50°F and sunshiny! I am getting used to driving the Sonata. Have learned where the main switches/buttons are so OK driving it.

I need to get some lunch and may lay down and read for the rest of the day.
