Happy Monday, Happy January, and Happy 2018!
It will take me a while to get used to writing 2018 since it felt like 2017 flew right on by.

How was your NYE? Mine was pretty much the same as any night. We ordered pizza and while we waited for it to be delivered with played that wacky Fake News headline Game. I am not that creative but damn, Gary and Cait have wicked senses of humor. Gary "won" 9 cards, Cait won 8, and Brendan and I tied with 5. Gary and I watched 2 more episodes of Travelers on Netflix and I was in bed by 8.30 :D

I was able to get all of the ornaments packed away and Gary put them in the attic. Got some laundry done, played with the dogs. I guess just a normal kind of day.

Today, I have to get ready for food shopping tomorrow, which means I have to leave the house in this freezing weather. Right now it is 2*. :faint:
And it looks like we won't get over 30* until next week.

That is about it from me.
Have a very happy and relaxing day!

Nancy- I wonder if dogs can sense what they can get away with their parents like kids know what boundaries they have with mom vs dad. Luther seems to know what he can get away with your DH and he seems to walk so much nicer with you. ;)
J springs up and jumps on Gary which I do not allow. She won't do it to me or she will get a firm No.
Hope that you all stay bundled up on your walk today.

(((((((((((((((((((Trudy))))))))))))))))))
I cannot imagine how sad it is to have the kids leave. I am looking forward to hearing about the time together and seeing all of the pictures/LOs too.
I think a hike today is a great idea to relax and get grounded again.

Hear, hear, Jean! May 2018 be a better year for all of us!

Rae- How was your NYE? Sounds like you had a fun one based on your plans. Was Jen ok? I hope so, and I hope that she knows that she has all of us cheering her on. I love the idea of a scrap page based on all of the books that you read. Along with just about everything else this past year, I totally flaked on keeping up with Goodreads. I should get that going again since it is helpful when I am wandering aimlessly through the library not sure what books to check out.

Sharon- your night sounds like it was perfect! Bet you enjoyed the quiet!

Hugs to all of you!!

Aww, Chris, I'll disappoint you here is Spring again. Right now I need long walk, but we have a guests. Yep I'm in web thill they are here. And first thing that I do this year was to come here. I think I'm adicted.

I wish I had listened to you! I didn't sleep enough and my nervous are so strained right now. The NYNight wasn't nothing special. I wish this family things to was easier. Four friends of my mom was alone, all by myself, and me and my sist don't want this for our parents, so we stayed at another home party. It was good, but too ordinary. We watch the president speech and the fireworks. Then stayed till 5am. and go to bed. My animals are stresset from the noise. I'm tired and just dragging around.

Beyond that I'm happy (and this scares me because can not last for long), full with expectation and hope for the New Year. :plane:
My favorite actor have a birthday today, but he is not active on a social media, so I just hope he knows how much fans adores him. This walks around in my mind today.

Hugs my dears! Hope we all have fabulous year! :becky:

good morning on this first day of 2018. It is sunny but way way too cold it is only 8 degrees. Now I am cold! I am feeling a bit like a cold is coming on so I have not been doing anything! Staying hydrated. It is chest congestion and a cough. Not bad but bad enough to make me a bit down. My DH is taking Luther out thanks goodness he is awesome about this. Saw the ball drop with my son and then bed.

Chris yes Luther knows that he can do certain things with my DH and not with me so that is good. But as Rae said it is up to my DH to make the rules and make Luther follow them. And at this point he just gets mad. As long as Luther and I have nice walks then I am happy. Glad you had such a nice evening. Welcome to the new year.

Felis that is so nice of you to stay home and be nice to your parents. I had my son and that was really nice. We did not stay up past midnight though. Hope you have less stress today!

Rae your dinner sounds marvelous. I do feel that figuring our a dinner each day is the hardest thing to do in a family. My DH made scrabbled eggs, salsa, sausage filled tortillas. It was so good as I love breakfast foods. You are so right about my DH and listening to a trainer. My DH gets so set in his ways and thinks that if it worked with one dog it should work with another. I will be waiting a long long time I think. He will just do work arounds, so if Luther barks are cars go to parks where there are not cars. LOL but Luther loves parks so he is happy.

Jean sounds like a lovely quiet night!

Sharon sorry about the fog but for you sounds like a lovely night.

Trudy - Hi we all knew you were having a great time! So happy you had so many hugs. And yes a good hike to start your year. How wonderful! Cant wait to see the new pages!

Have a great start to this new year!

Also too cold here with off and on snow but the birds are active at the feeder, at least a dozen goldfinch being very nice. We watched the ball drop, then an hour later the Fleur-de-lis in New Orleans (as I wanted to see the performance there of Imagine Dragons, a band I like.) But then I'm a night owl anyway.

Chris, glad you got some things done yesterday. Sorry you have to go out in the cold. We'll go out for a bit to look for birds for the new year but will mostly be in the car.

Felis, staying up so late sure didn't start your year on a good note. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight and the animals too.

Nancy, hoping you don't get sick!! Staying in while DH walks Luther sounds great. Looks like a hockey game is on right now, so hope you watch that.

Everyone, hoping the year is starting well for you!

Happy New Years, ladies. I'll be back later this afternoon with personals. The old year finished unexpectedly and the new year is starting with a bit of hope and dread.

Bailey has been in the hospital for a few days. We just found out yesterday afternoon. Jen got a call and she went over and spent the afternoon at the hospital. Bailey was mostly unconscious (drugs & diabetes complications). Jen came for dinner, stayed til after midnight and then went home. She is back at the hospital with B now and we'll get more updates as the day goes on. She is going to be offered treatment but no one knows if she can or will accept it. Prayers accepted if you wish to say one for her. I hope she will be strong enough to accept help at this point.

So no walk for me this morning, I will stay home and wait for further news. In the meantime, I will take the tree down and put all the Xmas stuff away. I am trying to start this year with hope. My takeaway from this is that help is being offered and maybe this time she can accept it.

I'll check in with you all later. I hope 2018 will be a great for us all.
