Good Morning, O-Fam!!!!

How was your weekend? Last full weekend before Christmas so I bet everyone was busy. I know that I was even while not getting anything much accomplished. It took me forever to get the kitchen cleaned and all of the cookies packed up and into the freezer. I wrapped 2 whole gifts. Impressive, right?? :biggrin1:
In the midst of my trips in and out of the attic, I pulled a muscle in my waist (who knew I had muscles there?) and now I hurt every time I move. Not what I need, but hopefully it will be better asap.

I scrapped a LO for the Font Challenge and that made me happy. Love looking at pictures of my puppies. Good thing that I love them because they are getting into everything. Not R, but the other 2? :faint:

I ordered the last two gifts that I needed and now I only have to work on stocking stuffers for fam and furbabies.

On my list to do for the day is get ready for food shopping and figure out WTH I am cooking for dinners that will be easy this week. And the menu for what it is worth, for Christmas day which is here. the other thing is to call the County about my heating assistance application. We get a small amount of assistance for out heating costs and every year they tell me that I am missing documents. And every year, I need to resubmit forms that they already have. But I have it down to a science. I have each year's applications/documents and information saved into separate folders on my computer. All I need to do is reprint them and send them along. I just need to find out what exactly that they need.
Toss in some more wrapping and baking and I think I will be OK.

Hugs!

Nancy- I think you would have to be a die-hard fan to watch a hockey outdoors when it is 12* (Low bar for me, since I don't like to be outside when it is colder than 60* LOL)
The walk must have been so pretty with the homes all lit up. I miss not being out after dark. It was one of the nice things driving home from work all those years ago.
Great news about DS and the SIL- I imagine going to an Ugly Sweater Party will help with bonding. Gotta be goofy for that.

Rae- nice work, lady on winning the Amazon Card! And a BIG congrats to Darrell on the Grand prize. You sure have good luck!!
Hope that the food hangover didn't last too long for you. That is really sweet of you to offer to do portraits for them. See, you put out such good karma and it comes back to you in spades.

How was your afternoon with Jen? Any more updates on Bailey?

Jean- were you able to get everything accomplished that you needed to do yesterday? But if not, how nice that you got inspired by felis to scrap!
Yes, Cait was funny with the butter and she was cold which made it even sillier. We have such a great routine with these 2 cookie recipes. The one recipe doubled needs 8 cups of flour and over the years we have learned that one of us counts aloud and the other makes tick marks so we don't lose track.

Off to do a System Restore on my computer. It has now shut down unexpectedly three times in the last week while I was I in the middle of doing something and it started during a Windows Update.

Have a fantastic day!

good morning - Luther has been out for his two walks and today the temp is above freezing. Our bummer yesterday was a leak in the steam heat system. But we found the leak and it was plugged so we now have heat. You can tell when we have a leak as the furnace water has to be filled too often. But luckily it was easy to find the leak and my DH did it without have to call some one in. I also got laundry done. Tonight the Ducks come in to take on the Devils. Adam Henrique is returning after the big trade. I am looking forward to the game. Also good news is that two of my injured players are back and that should help a lot. Our team plays home for the next 5 games and they will be tough especially on Thursday when they play the Rangers. This will be a good stretch to see just how good my team is!

Chris that is so great with all the baking that you found time to scrap and wrap! Hope shopping goes well!

Rae the party sounds awesome. And to do their portraits that would be so nice of you! They will be so happy to have them. It is always so nice when a party turns out better than you thought. Glad the food challenges did not last long. You do have the best luck. I will have to be on the look out on the TV for your Darrell when he goes to the game. I think sports are hard to get into if just watched on TV but to be at a hockey game live is something else. Congrats on your amazon gift card!

Jean hope the day went well with football.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I am breathing a sigh of relief....today is the first day of my reduced schedule for the next couple of weeks. I still have to work but less hours as one boss is gone til the new year. I will get some time to finish up Xmas stuff, watch some holiday shows and best of all....time to scrap (which has seriously suffered this latter part of the year).

My back is still bothering me but I'm able to function (gee, Chris...bet you can relate lol). I will call my GP and see if I can get in this week to get some anti-inflammatory cream as I'm using up all of D's so I'd better replace it. Because I wanted to sit and rest my back throughout Jen & I baking yesterday, we only made 2 types of cookies and we will make more this coming wkend. She made gluten free sugar cookies and I made a chocolate/nut butter cookie. I wouldn't eat her cookie b/c of the sugar but we both tried my cookies out and both of us were raving about them....they are absolutely delicious! I used a bit of stevia/xylitol/coconut sugar as sweetener for them and added stevia sweetened dark chocolate. I can't wait to go to Bellingham and stock up on the stevia chocolate for baking. I haven't found it here anywhere or on amazon so need to go to Whole Foods in Bellingham.

Chris - me too, I need to plan some easy meals this wk as I want to focus on other things like wrapping, shopping, etc. I think I need to get the crockpot out and make a dish D can put over rice and I can put over riced cauliflower. Hope your pulled muscle pain resolves quickly.

Nancy - D is so excited about the hockey game, the seats are right up behind the goal net I think. Wherever they are, they are very close and D is super happy about it so you might see us :) Good thing you got the heater leak plugged. Not something I'm sure you want to deal with at this time of year.

Everyone else....hope you are having a great day.

I'm sure Trudy is over the moon excited to have her family for the holidays. Can't wait to see holiday pics at some point. How fun for them. I've got a few files waiting to get done, so I'm going to get to work for a bit and then I am going to scrap a page...yay!

Have a great day, everyone.

Hi girls,
Just to say :hello: will try to come back later, but I'm too busy today. At least I'm in good mood, so I'm not complain at all!

Between yesterday and today I got the books wrapped and ready for mailing, finished the 4-page family history newsletter I now do every December (it goes to same people as the book plus even more as a different side of DH's family), got it printed and into cards for those needing snail mail (will email to rest), I think I only did one other card, maybe another 5 to do. While getting ready to go to the post office, DH read email telling about his cousin. She's gone from colonoscopy this morning to emergency surgery today or tomorrow because of a possibly cancerous polyp. Given what she's been through with bouts of cancer, this is just so much to take in. I plummeted from happy excitement to really sad! Hours later I'm still waffling back and forth. Well, whatever it takes.

Chris, yikes, be kind to our faery and quit pulling muscles you don't know you have! You always come through, so I know everything that has to will get done.

Nancy, five home games at the holidays sounds like your kind of time. I know you'll enjoy. Looks like some warmish weather for a while here. Enjoy the games!

Rae, sure hope your back quits being a problem and you get to see the GP. Those cookies look so good. Glad you'll have a little more time for a while.

Felis, yay that you're feeling up. Keep it going!

Trudy, thinking of you and all your family time. Enjoy!
