Happy weekend lOvelies!
It looks like it is going to be a gorgeous one here! Sunny and 70's.

Today I am feeling pretty good about the Relay. Still a bit nervous about the Survivor Lap but its a good example to show my kids. And I am proud to have all of the support that I am blessed with. My parents are coming, my kids and their SO's, Scott's GF's mom, who lost her husband to cancer, and maybe my IL's. And my friend who convinced me to do this keeps saying how proud she is of me, all of that means so much to me. Plus-- I have raised over $200 for the American Cancer Society. I wish it was that easy to raise money for Lyme Disease research and awareness, though :(

When I was at the dr on Thurs, my BP was up, 153/88 IIRC. Yesterday I was at ShopRite and I got very dizzy. I was near the Pharmacy so I thought I could try the BP monitor to see if it was still high. Well, that darn thing needed me to put my left arm in the cuff, but I can't because my PICC in in my left arm. So i tried it with my right arm, leaning over with my butt in the air. Needless to say, that didn't work. At all. LOL I had to get blood drawn so I popped into my Dr's office and had them do a quick measure. Still on the high end of normal but at least better than it was. I am going to have to keep an eye on it though. My mom has very high BP when it is not controlled-- it was stuck at 220/140 for a long time when I was younger-- that is scary-high.

I am going to try and get some scrapping done today/tomorrow too. I asked my very devious daughter (JK! It's me that is the devious one!) to get my mom to bring up her wedding album to look at, which I am going to keep and scan pics from it. Its going to be non-stop scrapping to get it all done in time.

Hope that you all have a lovely wonderful day. When I walk the Survivor-Caregiver Lap, I will be thinking off all of you. You supported me in this from Day One and I love you all for that!
xoxo

Laurie- sounds like it has been lovely! Hope you enjoyed your day yesterday and have a great one today too!

Nancy- you are like the best hockey fan ever! (As if there was any doubt LOL) So cool to have your face in the ad!

Sara- oh man, I can't imagine how hot your house must be.
What a mess about your nephew. Talk about unsportsmanlike conduct. SMH I have to say that I didn't tolerate that crap when my kids were little. I remember, and so does Cait, one day we had just gotten to the beach and she kicked up a fuss about something. I gave her a chance to calm down but she didn't. I literally dragged her, kicking and screaming, off the beach and took her home where she had a "lovely" afternoon in her room in time out. But I also have created my own monsters in that I always told them to think for themselves, question everything. That is great until they question me! hahahah!!

Thank you Phyllis! Like I said up there^ I couldn't have done this w/o all of you too, especially your encouragement when I was on the fence about radiation.
Hope that you have a wonderful trip.
And that TracFone deal?? That is insane!

Huge hugs to everyone who pops in today!!

Good luck today, Chris! We are all behind you.

Sara, I have a 17 yo girl, way back when she was 2 or 3 she had a meltdown once in a grocery store...I apologized as I handed a half full cart to an employee and carried her to the car. The shocked look on her face was proof it would never happen again...and it didn't. Parents need to do what they threaten..it works.

Also wanted to say thanks to the O for the generous birthday gift...I grabbed the art journally one- if things ever slow down for me I can play around with it. I have to get started packing for a move..yuk. I'll try to check in again soon and more often...thanks, O!

good morning and as Chris said it is gorgeous - sun and in the 70s maybe some rain but not until the afternoon. Woke up at 5am to use bathroom and could not go back to sleep as the sun was shining and the birds were singing so I got up and have already gotten two pages done for my Great Lakes and Birding Trip. Feeling great about that. Watched the Chicago Blackhawks defeat the LA Kings so I have another hockey game on Sunday night. Then a minimum of 4 for the Finals.

Chris have fun today! So glad so many are coming to support you! I will be thinking about you! I love that you will be making an album for your parents!

Sara that is crazy about your nephew whew he has a lot of growing up to do! Hope your air gets fixed.

Sandy I know what you mean about parenting and being consistent. It does work but it is so hard!

Phylis have a great trip!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Chris - have a great walk today!

Its a beautiful day here today too! I'm planning to get out in the garden later this morning and get some weeding done. How is it that the weeds grow ten times faster than the plants?
As of yesterday, Les had biked 414 km out of 3400 total! He's hit rain, hail and wind so far - hopefully there won't be any snow! A couple more days will get him through the mountains and then the going should be easier. Hoping for a tailwind for him!!

Chris, looks like lovely weather for your walk. So glad you can take comfort from the O. I think sometimes we know a lot about each other from the things we photograph and scrap let alone our talk here. Good luck with the BP too!

Hugs to all, hope you're having a wonderful day and weekend.

Happy Sunday! Hope that all of you got to sleep in a bit. I made it to 6.30 which is later than I usually get. Guess it is good b/c I am going to be a Busy Faery today. So much to do!

Yesterday was actually very nice. I just simply adore my family, they are so good to me.i think it was nice for them to be recognized as caregivers as much as it was to know that they were there to support me. I also think it was really good for Leah (Scott's GF). She wore the Relay t-shirt that she got when she did Relay after her dad died. She and her mom walked together with us and after that lap, they hugged and held onto each other so tight. Her mom has always said it has been hard to for her to accept/process his death, but recently has been opening up a lot more to her. I guess it is really good for healing.
It was also very cool to sit with other Survivors and to hear how long they have been cancer-free. OTOH, it was hard to see that some of them had multiple cancers. That is kind of my concern- can/will I get another concern, since I am now "high-risk?" I guess all I can do is take good care of myself, and hope for the best :D
Oh! And the other "neat" thing, was that I asked Leah's mom, who is a pharmacist, if I could ask her professional opinion on whatever med(s) the onc. wants me on. I know she will tell me the truth about them. She asked who I was seeing and it turns out it is the same dr that her husband went to for 7 years. She just hugged me and said how happy she was that he is whom I am seeing. She said that he is just amazing and wonderful and caring. That was such a relief, as well as a pretty powerful moment for us.

So that is it from me. I have to get going and then scrap scrap scrap. I have my mom's wedding album and OMG, she is so beautiful! My dad looks the same, just with more hair LOL
I am going to have fun working on this one even though I have to do about 2+ pages a day! Templates, here I came!

Hi Sandy- so great see to see you here in the Ooo's! Happy Belated b-day and I am glad to hear you picked a great kit. Hope that your move goes smoothly and that you will have time to scrap with it.
ITA -- even when it kills you on the inside, you have to stay strong and consistent. However, I learned the hard way and it took me a long time to realize this-- only take away TV as a *last resort* or it will become impossible to cook dinner at the end of the day with cranky toddlers underfoot. hahah!

Nancy- it was a bit chilly up here yesterday but today is supposed to get warmer. But I am loving the sunshine! Can you do me a favor? Can you add a link to your gallery in your siggie? I always want to see your LO's but then when I am in the Gallery I tend to comment from the recent posts page.

Thanks Phyllis!

Jane- isn't that the truth? If dandelions could count as "grass" I would have the most lush lawn ever!

Jean- oh yes, I love this place and the wonderful people here!

xoxoxoxo!!!!

good morning - what a gorgeous day we are going to have today here in NJ. Low humidity and mid 70s. Good start to June though I find it hard to believe it is June already. Got a lot of scrapping done, got in a good walk. Watched the HBO movie The Normal Heart. What a powerful movie. It was hard to watch but the story needed to be told. Today more of the same.

Chris so glad yesterday went so well. So proud of you and your family and friends. Have fun creating the book for your parents and thank goodness for templates!

Have a great day everyone!

I am here and melting. It's going to be 91 today. Air will be replaced on Friday. I went to the grocery store and have a dance recital to go to later. I don't really want to, but it will be nice and supportive and get me air conditioning.

Matt's grandma isn't doing too well, so we will go see her tonight too. Hopefully, it won't be traumatic for Ben. He hasn't had a lot of death to deal with yet.

I can barely think straight in the heat. Sorry girls!! Hope things are going well for everyone!!

Evening all - back home- my wonderful husband surprised me with a stop on the way back- to a winery we liked last year!! I wanted to, but did not want to ask since it was an 11.5 hour drive (hubby did it all) So my empty wine fridge will no longer be empty. Now off to unpack and unwind.

well, I just finished posting my GSO post.... which I had to go in to edit 7 times ...my brain isn;t engaging today.... but wanted to say hi....
Sarita is leaving for 2 months to Canada in 3 weeks, which paired with my inhability to retain much in my brain results in not being much online...but will be around more when she is away for sure...

Hope all is ok Chris...
