Happy weekend, O-zies! I can't believe that the party is over. It was so much fun, congrats to the Cheery O's and Designers who put it all together. I didn't do any of the planning or hosting but I saw how hard everyone worked behind the scenes. Oh no, I just realized that I never uploaded my Los for the collab into the Gallery. Oops. That is on my To-Do list for today.

The temps were very Spring-like again but the winds were crazy. I had the windows open a tiny bit which gave me a psychological boost. It's is sunny today bit cooler. Cait is meeting up with her crush this morning at a park, much better weather than the last time they met when it was in the 30s. I think today they are going to make the relationship "official." She has been testing him and so far he has passed. He knows all of the rats' names, including the dead ones. He agrees that toilet paper goes over the roll. He accepts that she pronounces mozzarella "mutzadell" which is, in fact correct. LOL - just a sampling of the test questions.
Not much else happened here, Scott's job is moving forward, he still needs a background check/fingerprinting but his training starts in 2 weeks. Gary is going to drive me to the FP this morning, My back is better *knocks wood a bazillion times* but not 100% so he can help with bags and stuff. Other than that... pfft. I wish I felt comfortable going to Home Depot or Lowes to look at garden stuff. NJ cases are going back up in a bad way again. I have a feeling that the B117 variant is taking hold. You can see in the maps how the patterns are similar to last year, NYC metro into all of NJ and then spreading north and west. Not good. I am hoping that Scott will be eligible to get vax'd soon. Technically, he could be since he was born with a heart defect and I worry that Lyme can still be affecting his immune system. But he won't "skip" the line which I understand from a moral sense but am aggravated from a maternal sense. Life is complicated. *winks*

Do any of you have plans this weekend? Whatever you do- have a fun and safe time doing it!

@bcgal00 I am thrilled and relieved that Remi is doing better, today is the visit with the vet? Good luck!!!!! She sounds like she is a piece of work with a big personality. Two years of puppyhood, eh? :D
Have fun with Bella and Jen.

@taxed4ever Great news about the oven working and you baking some banana bread. You and your Gary got so much accomplished this week. Good for you! Are ya ready to send him back to work on Monday? haha!! A week of back spasms and pain feels way too long. I wonder if it is because it was never so bad that I was never actually bedridden for a few days, that walking around never let it heal completely.
I feel bad for you and Heather having a tough time with both boys and not being able to help her.

@Cherylndesigns Yay for the vaccination!! Sorry that you didn't get the J&J but as you said, they all work. How is your SIL feeling today? Hope he is better. My MIL had a bad reaction to her second dose but is better now.
That's why Gary doesn't want to build me raised beds- the wood prices are crazy. I was thinking that maybe getting some wood pallets for free and varnishing them would work, but I don't know what the pallets might be treated with. The meme must have been too funny!!!
Enjoy planting your seeds!!! Pictures of your plants, please.

Has anyone seen @LSlycord around????

Hugs!!

Morning ladies and happy Saturday to you all! Can't be in here long again this morning as DH is ready to head out and get busy with the errands that we need to do this morning! Yes I will be glad to have him get back to work so that I can have the place to myself again!! LOL just kidding, its been nice to have him around, but I think that he is ready to go back to work and get some rest! He has been a busy guy this past week! Yesterday was nice enough that we got the car washed and got the front porch all cleaned and the outdoor rug put down. Went for a walk, picked up the groceries and had burgers for supper last night! Yumm!! My banana mini loaves turned out great and the oven is working just the way it should be thank goodness! The cherry blossoms are out and so pretty up and down the street. My ornamental plum tree in the back yard should be blooming soon also. I love this time of year!! However not looking forward to the pollen part of spring. Perhaps it won't be as bad as last year, it was much warmer last year! Covid case numbers are on the rise here also, but Dr. Bonnie Henry has opened up a lot of things and gatherings are allowed to be larger. Not sure why they are doing that, but I guess we have to open up things soon and hopefully once everyone is vaccinated the numbers will go down again. I just want to see my kids and grands!! However if the numbers are still not good by summer than that will not happen!! Please behave everyone!!!

@faerywings - How nice that Cait is seeing her new man today! Glad that the weather will be better for her and that he is passing all of the tests thrown at him LOL. Hope your trip to the FP goes well and so happy to hear that your back if feeling much better today! Hope that Scott can soon get his vaccination and what a great young man he is to not want to skip the line for it! However you must be a bit worried about it! Yes the price of lumber here in B.C. has also risen horribly! It has quadrupled in price! No new building of anything for us this year thats for sure!

Ok off I go again, sorry that I have not spent much time here lately, but next week should prove to be a bit quieter LOL. Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Good afternoon my lovely OOOOOZIES!!

Felis @felis I can't wait to see your video.
Chris @faerywings our first plan was to go up to the construction site and reclaim all the wood that's laying around - FREE!!! Roger (SIL) nixed that - he said those boards were not the right thickness we had to have. Ava scored more wood yesterday - Lowe's got more in and now we have enough for the whole house. We got 2 1/2 windows done today!! We were SO excited and took lots of pictures. We KNOW the "guys" could have done them a lot quicker but we wanted to say we did it. I held the shutters on the sides of the windows while she attached them to the house!! She made all of them, but Adrienne and I stained most of them and then I got to help hang them today!

My SIL still doesn't feel very well. He's also taking antibiotics for something else and I told him he needs to eat something first. Of course, he took them on an empty stomach and then got nauseated. I don't know if his feeling bad is related to the shot now or not.

Here are some series of pictures I posted on Instagram, if anybody's on there (@felis I know you are.)
Cheryl (@cherylndesigns) • Instagram photos and videos Here are about 5 pictures of us making the shutters Cheryl (@cherylndesigns) • Instagram photos and videos

@taxed4ever Trudy, so glad your oven is working and banana bread is one of the most wonderful smells while it's baking.

I found some more seed packets (I thought I planted them all) so I'm going back out to plant more. It's almost 80 today so hopefully, my babies are all going to be safe. If I have to I can bring the containers in.

Waving to all and group hug

Good morning to everyone! Even though the darn dogs had me awake early, I am feeling pretty good. I heard some birds singing and I am not freezing. Signs that spring is here! My back is *finally* showing some improvement too. I commented to Gary yesterday that this wasn't even in my Top Ten Worst Back Spasms but it felt like it went on forever.
I was able to get outside for a bit and scoop the lawn- no bending- and the sun felt so nice.
Gary drove me over to the FP and we were in awe of how many bags of food that we got. Still so many jars of jelly though ;) I have to see if anyone in the neighborhood needs any of it. We go through *lots* of PB but jelly- not even near the same amount. I got three large bags of white rice which is fab. When I woke Cait up one day last week, I had coffee and told her I had something for her. Still mostly asleep, she asked if it was pudding, she wanted rice pudding. Guess what I can make for her today? The other thing we got was 10 lbs of frozen chicken leg quarters. Yikes, that is a lot! I am defrosting them and will cook them all at once, then make chicken salad and then freeze the rest of the meat for future dinners and stuff. I have my work in the kitchen cut out for me today. (We also got boxes of Entenmann's donuts and pound cake- Woo hoo!! )
Caitlyn had a nice time at the park with Tom who officially asked her out with a Drake and Josh quote. D&J was a popular TV show when they dated for the first time in Middle School. She came home very pleased. Hehe. Scott was with Leah and Arlene this weekend and celebrated Passover with them. I am so happy when they are happy.

Not much happening outside of my kitchen today. But even though I cooking chicken and the rice, I have no clue what I am doing for dinner. [fainting smile]

Wishing all of you a very happy day!

Trudy- You are going to miss your Gary when he is back at work. You will also enjoy having the house to yourself, I bet. You two were whirlwinds getting stuff accomplished. Your house must be all set for the nice weather ahead. You have so much in bloom by you- other than the crocus there isn't any color here yet. I am jealous! :D
I am not sure why New Jersey is opening up either. We still have lots of restrictions on inside limits (50% I think) but we are the second-highest in the country with new cases. I am still sticking close to home. Do you have any idea when you will be able to get vaccinated? I know you want to get to your kids- this has to be the longest period where you haven't seen them :(

@felis- Happy Earth Hour (that I forgot about)!

@Cherylndesigns such fun photos!!! I followed you on Instagram too even though I am almost never on there. But I did it anyway. haha. It has to make you so proud that you did so much to add to the house.
It also sounds like me that I would have loved to reclaim the wood and be annoyed that it was the wrong size. Who needs to measure???
Have fun with your seeds- what herbs are you planting?
I hope that SIL is feeling better today.

Hugs!

Good Morning everyone! It is a rainy morning, but that's ok, it means that I will be spending my day getting my cleaning done and helping my Gary bottle a Red Wine this morning. The tunes will be playing in the background and we always enjoy the process of getting the wine into bottles!

@faerywings - Chris sorry that the dogs had you up so darn early! Sounds like you will have a busy day cooking in your kitchen today! I bet Caitlyn will love the rice pudding! Not my fav thing to eat, but oh man my Dad sure did love it when Mom made it for him!! :) I think that I will miss having my Gary around, he was pretty good about not asking me to do to much for him and we had very nice conversations over our coffee and lunch breaks! We make a good team and work well together, no arguments or disagreements, because hey I am always right!! LOL. (just kidding). No idea as to when we will get our vaccines, the roll out has not gone the way that the powers that be thought it would. Looks like it will be closer to May/June before it is our turn. We have had higher numbers in the last couple of weeks than we have ever had. It just seems like it will never go away! So other than running to get groceries and few other things, we are sticking pretty close to home too! At least the In-Laws have had their first shots!

@felis - Thank you for the reminder about Earth Hour!! I loved the video and shared it on my facebook page. We did a few small things in honour of the hour. Turned down the heat and turned off the lights, we are always good at recycling etc. Our province is pretty great about keeping our green space clean!! I have even seen quite a few older citizens cleaning up the sides of the roads, out there almost every day picking up garbage etc. It is so good to see!!

@Cherylndesigns - I saw your photos too! They are great and the shutters looks so good!! The Herbs that you got planted will be so nice to have on hand for your cooking! Sorry that your son-in-law is not feeling well! He should have listened to you and ate something before taking his meds. Always a good idea to eat probiotics when you are taking antibiotics too! Hope that you are having a lovely day!

Well its time to get some breakfast going and start the sterilizing of the bottles. I will put on another pot of coffee too! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good early afternoon. I got up early today but Adrienne's already been here and picked up Lila. She hurt herself yesterday (the dog) and I wanted to keep her here where it was quiet. They were all up in their huge boat cleaning it and Lila jumped out and landed (legs splayed out) on her tummy. She's okay - we checked her all over and she didn't yelp or wince. The girls started running so the dogs would chase them and Lila didn't go - Daisy did, but Lila laid down. We knew she wasn't doing well. After a quiet evening - she slept here - she is fine this morning. She's not very big and little dogs can get hurt easier than big dogs. She was running around in the yard with Daisy today. Chuck and I really think she just strained herself and dogs are smart enough to know when they need to rest.

I'm so glad that my IG pics came through. I'm SO proud of myself for having "ownership" in some of the DIY projects that Ava and I have been doing. Our shutters are SO beautiful! We got 2 1/2 windows done yesterday and I thought we'd finish them up today, but we've all decided to go to see some beautiful waterfalls. I've not gotten there yet, so I'm super excited to go and hopefully get some great pictures.

@faerywings Chris - I've got dill, basil, parsley, oregano, mustard, chives, more dill - I'm a dill freak so I planted 3 whole rows of that - I want to make sure I get plenty of it to come up. As soon as they sprout and have good roots, I'm going to move them to some multi sized clay pots and just container garden this year. We won't have time to get a real garden in this year. I want to do my small front yard first. I'm planning that right now.

Trudy @taxed4ever I love the thought of bottling your red wine. Have a wonderful time with that and listening to your music. I love white wine, but the thought of you bottling wine is a wonderful visual. Glad you liked my pics on IG. I had fun putting them on there. This is such a different life - one that I've wanted my whole life - and I'm just enjoying being a country girl so much!!

Chris @faerywings my granny made THE best rice pudding I've ever eaten. I'd love to taste yours. We went to a restaurant in Indianapolis several years ago and they had rice pudding that came pretty darned close. I've tried and tried to make Granny's rice pudding but I've never gotten it quite right.

I'm going to go and start getting ready to leave to go see the waterfall. Hope everybody has a great day!

Good Sunday afternoon - I am finally getting hear. My Devils lost twice to the Washington Capitals. Both games fairly close but they are just the more experienced and better team. Today they play at 5:30 so that will be fun. The weather was so good for walking Luther and not being so cold in the house. Friday night my youngest said that the kids wanted to come down early on Sat and have breakfast with us. They want my DH to make them pancakes as he spells their names. Of course they tell us this at 6:30pm and they said they are coming at 7am. Well we did not have pancake mix or other stuff for them to eat. I volunteered to get up early to do the grocery store run while he walked Luther to get him tired. LOL. My son texted to say oh yea they like chocolate chips on their pancakes not syrup. Weird but luckily we had the chips. Well they ate everything so that was good and Luther calmed down a lot so that was good. I then went with the kids to get the kids kids birthday gifts of bikes. It was so fun. They wanted bikes but they did not want to say they did not like the colors of the bikes they first tried but eventually they got the correct colors for bikes, helmets and baskets. Good times! My DH could not go as he has zoom class. After we got the bikes drove to the grade school parking lot where my sons went to school so they could practice riding the bikes. It was so cute as the youngest Liam was scared and needed his mom to push him as the tilting with the training wheels made him super nervous. While Livie was most sure of herself but had a harder time getting the bike going. It is so fun to see in real time the difference between girls and boys. By the time they had been riding for about 15 mins. Liam had it all figured out and he did not want his mom and he was just buzzing around while Livie continued to be more cautions. The parents got on their bikes while I stayed and when needed gave the kids a push on their bikes and took lots of photos. Then I walked home while they headed back to their place to get ready for Easter egg dyeing. We went up for that too. OMgosh it is such fun to see how all the adult siblings get along and then to see the kids interact. It was fun talking to the all the sister in laws as two of them are now pregnant. We left around 7pm. It was a long day and I was in bed by 10pm which is way early for me. Now today is rain but looks like middle of the afternoon will be a break and I can get a walk in.

@faerywings Chris glad your back is improving even if slow. Awesome you got to be outside yesterday. It was a gorgeous day. For me I could use it to be a bit warmer but still comfortable. How wonderful for Cait and her new beau. Sounds like they are taking it slow and enjoying learning about each other. Scotts new job should be great for him. Glad they got their checks. My son got his too!

@taxed4ever Trudy congrats on the oven getting fixed. I bet the banana bread smelled so good baking. Have fun with the wine and music. You might tell Heather that her son is practicing looking like a hockey player with his front teeth gone and should tell his friends that. Bullying is just the pits. Hope the teachers take it seriously and do something. Maybe the teachers should do something about losing teeth and how that is supposed to happen. Show them sharks and how many teeth they lose and keep losing their whole lives.

@bcgal00 Rae I love those photos of Remi. I makes me smile to hear you talk about how much energy she has. If we had not trained Luther I am not sure how I would have survived. Have fun.

@Cherylndesigns thanks for sharing the photos. If I tried to do that I would cut off something even if I measured twice. I am so not a do it yourself person. My aunt tried when I was a teenager but it did not stick.

@scrap-genie Jean that is so interesting about mail delivery and pick up. Congrats on the bald eagles. I was walking Luther and by the river I saw a turtle sunny, a young deer and a red-tailed hawk. It was a red letter day for me.

@felis felis thanks for the reminder about the earth hour. Like Trudy we try to conserve.

Waving to all
Have a great day!
