Good morning! I am going to try to post this as quickly as I can. I am so disorganized and haven't started to pack yet. My parents are going to be here in a couple of hours. Not packed, not showered. Not organized. SMH.
I am not even sure where to begin packing. I checked the weather and each day has its own odd forecast. Today is going to be cold and rainy (63*), tomorrow part sun, part rain, highs in the 70s. Monday- hot and humid- in the 80s. I need three different suitcases LOL

I am so happy that I emptied out my gardening bag. I saved my mom's life- no heart attack for her today. *knocks wood*
I was taking all of the tools out of it yesterday so I could run it through the wash. I turned it over to shake the dirt out of it and a clump of dirt started to hop away! It was my toad-friend and he had been in my bag the entire time I was out working in the afternoon. I was a bit surprised and said out loud " oh!! You must have been there the whole time!" Cait told me at dinner that she heard me say that and was wondering who I was talking to until she realized it had to be a toad. :D

I hope that everyone has a happy and safe weekend/4th of July.
TTYS!

@tanteva I know that mushy feeling when it gets too humid. My parents always called it "close" - maybe because it made everything feel oppressive and closed in?
I have no idea if I have seen a magpie or not. I will have to look it up.

@Cherylndesigns I bet you hugged Cammie (how sweet!) a looooong time! I bet he won't mind sleeping on a couch at all as long as he is with family.
Fire is scary. It is good they the family and pets got out safe but such a loss of all of their things/memories.

@scrap-genie did my research for me-- I bet I haven't seen a magpie since I have only been to the west coast once in my lifetime.
Muggy is a good word to describe that air for Eva. Muggy also makes me think of mosquitos and gnats and now I feel itchy Ha!
How nice of you to do the photography for the cigar-box group.

Better sign off. hugs!!!

Organized you say ... I have the same talent. Just put all the toppings on our pizza for dinner, and was just going to shove it in the oven. Guess if the oven was on? Someone ... gotta be Urban ;) ... had forgotten to turn it on. LOL

We ended up watching the first episode of Hinterland yesterday. I've seen it before, but not Urban. I don't mind seeing it again, since my brain is the teflon kind, and nothing sticks ... also, I love what Wales look like. I'm convinced I lived in Wales in a former life. Everything looks like "home" to me. Hinterland is a good show, if you like British crime, I recommend it.

No plans for the weekend, other than relaxing and taking it slow. I'm working 2 days next week. Then I'm free one week, and after that I work ... at least for me ... a lot. I'm not good at adulting.

Good morning! I'm getting ready to go see Cam! They're all up at Adrienne's new house working - UGH. Not in the mood to go work yet, it's only 11. I didn't get to see Cam last night - they got home too late. His plane had a big delay and got in super late. They called me from the car after they picked him up. He hates to fly - he'd just like me, so I felt bad that he had a bad, delayed flight. I'm sure I'll hear all about it today. Last time we all flew together, I had to talk him down. That was funny, because I don't do well on airplanes, either, but I was trying to help him. Haha

Chris, in Indiana, we called humidity "close". I haven't heard that term forever. We're invited to a fish fry tonight. It's early - around 5 so everybody can go to the lake to watch the fireworks. I'm not going on the boat tonight - too choppy. I didn't fare too well the last time and it wasn't choppy. We've been dogsitting with Lila for the last few days and she'll probably be here most of the weekend. She's a mess with all the fireworks and we don't want her home alone in her crate, poor thing. They don't bother Daisy, but when Lila starts barking, Daisy chimes in. Haha Last night, we got tired of it and put them in one of the bedrooms and told them to go to bed. That was the last we heard from them.

We're watching Cobra Kai on Netflix if anybody's looking for a good show. It's a takeoff on The Karate Kid - same guys are even in it. It's so good.

I guess I've been logged on here all night - again. UGH. Have a good weekend everybody.

Another lovely day here but no particular plans.

Chris @faerywings , I know you're off to PA by now, so hope you are enjoying it.

Eva @tanteva , I love your stories. The oven not on is so something that might happen to me. But after you shared the stunning photo of the Yellow-billed Magpie I have to wonder if you know of the Swedish bird artist Lars Jonsson. I had the great good fortune to have a week-long class with him in 1984. I wasn't the most apt student, but he was a wonderful teacher in addition to being an outstanding artist. He illustrated a number of bird guides too. Long before him Sweden had an outstanding bird artist, Bruno Liljefors (1860-1939). I have a book on his work and did two LOs about him:
https://oscraps.com/community/media/impressionist-liljefors-gallery.277977/ and

Cheryl @Cherylndesigns Too bad "Cammie" had a bad flight day but I'm sure he's loving being there and getting his hugs from you. I know you'll have a great, busy weekend.

Nancy, @nancyr I know you're not a fan of the Habs, but what's with them? We watch game 3 last night and couldn't believe they did so poorly. Is Tampa Bay just that good? I know you want more games, so this isn't the way to make that happen.

@scrap-genie No, I had not heard of Lars Jonsson, and I can't say I recognize the paintings either. But, neither birds, nor art are really my subjects. Bruno Liljefors I know about though. Amazing artist, not just birds, but wildlife in general. I love his foxes. When I lived in Uppsala, I visited his grave several times, used to take the short cut through the cemetary on my way home from university.

My father had a friend who is an artist, not as famous, but I really love his paintings. His name is Rune Wenliden, and if you google his name you can see some of his work. He does lots of wildlife and Christmas motives.

Well, it's time for me to go to bed now. Happy about England winning their soccer game tonight. England is "my" team ... I'd probably root for them even if they met Sweden. You can't be anglophile half-heartedly. LOL

I just wanted to pop in an wish you Americans an happy 4th of July. Assuming all forums will be dead quiet as always on 4th of July. I'll be here ... talking to myself. LOL

With Chris off in PA, guess even Eva doesn't want to come talk to herself. We have a lovely day for the 4th of July, but no special plans. Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend and holiday if it applies.

@tanteva I love the British and Australian crime shows on Netflix. The British ones in Yorkshire and Oxford especially as I have been to many of the areas where they are filmed.
It is still hot here and the forest fires still raging. Thankfully not near me but so devastating for those in the affected areas.

Wow... can't believe it.... I slept in until 9:45AM this morning!!! Had a crazy dream that I was in an apartment building that had tree limbs growing through the ceiling, down stairwells, etc. My dead sister was there walking up the stairwell. I remember thinking that I was glad it was the owners problem to take care of... not mine. CRAZY... Sure was glad to wake up in my own bedroom and find out it was just a nightmare.

Had fireworks going off in several areas around town last night. One was at the park about half mile from the house. I could see them from my back patio... so watched them for a bit - then closed the door and read for awhile. I am sure there will be more fireworks displays going on again tonight. I don't plan on being out to see them. I remembered to hang the flag out by the front door.

Been enjoying my 'movie nights'. Last night I watched "E.T." It is on a VHS tape from a holiday special showing sponsored by Sears back in the late 1990's. Had to LOL over the commercial about 'new' phone/keyboard with small video screen attached - so you could see who you were calling! ! ! My how things have changed in just a few years. I watched "Terror in the Towers" - about the first bombing of the World Trade Center on Friday night. My VHS inventory work is paying off big time as I am enjoying watching the movies and music shows from 'back when'.

Kythe, how neat that you have been to the area where some of the crime shows are done. Albuquerque is becoming a big film area. There are several movies and TV shows filmed here. Now that the Covid restrictions have been lifted, several movies have started shooting in the area. It is always fun to see places in the movies that you have been to.

Time to get some lunch. CYL

I love Inspector Lewis. I want to see Inspector Morse as well, but it's not available anywhere where I can see it. Was thinking of buying the DVDs, but they were stupidly expensive.

I love all shows that are set in Manchester for the same reason. We were there in 2013 & 2014 and I loved the town.

@BrightEyes I really envy your VHS collection. We had to get rid of most of ours when we moved. Regret it today, so many of the old movies are not available on streaming services.

Hello and Happy 4th to all who live in the US!

Jean @scrap-genie Cammie is loving being with family. All of the "big kids" hung out yesterday and fished most of the day.

We all met up at a fish fry last evening - the guy who had it was named "Bubba" and most of the dishes were Creole. I had never had Creole food before and it was SO good! Not nearly as spicy as I always thought it would be. He was telling us that there's another type of food (similar to Creole) that is VERY spicy. I don't do spicy, so this was an interesting new taste. I was afraid to put any of it on my plate - I don't eat food that I can't pronounce LOL. So, my hubby filled his plate and I ended up eating most of his. He had to go refill his plate. Haha I'm not very brave when trying new foods.

We're planning to watch the Macy's fireworks tonight. I always say we have the best seats in the house. They've been popping and banging all around us all week - I really get tired of hearing them and trying to keep Lila settled down. I had to hold her tightly on my lap last night - poor thing. We used to have a Thunder Coat for our Lab. I wonder if that would help Lila.

Have a good day - hugs to all.

Both are on Netflix as well as Endeavour (which comes on in the fall I think) is when Morse was a young detective.

We have a ton of movies/TV shows filmed here where I live. Good Doctor, Riverdale, Virgin River to name a few. The cemetery up the road from me is a favourite of the movie makers. My sister actually had a Hallmark Christmas movie made using her house. Boy is that lucrative!

My lovely lovely girls, life is so strange!
But first Happy fourth of July! I hope you will have lovely day and dogs will not be too scared!

So, I told you before, that I have interests about Law of attraction for improving my bad habits, and past month I was working on the lessons from Clark Kegley's channel. Unfortunately I'm still wrapped into the old habits patterns, but have lots of interesting turns in other parts of my life. I was put in my vision board the wish for having new house. I don't know why, it's not like I need it, but I'm always want to buy my neighbors house and extend our property. It was supposed my future husband to do that, but till I'm waiting they may sell it LOL! The universe not get my messages properly!!! My mom's cousin come to visit us and she offered to us, my mom or I to take care for her and to receive for compensation in heritage her apartment at the capitol. So this is the second most common way someone to receive property here (the first one of course is marriage; no wait to buy it is first, however) the third most common way someone to receive property. It has lots of family details that makes this situation unacceptable, we will not stop on the details now as the forum is publicly visible. But the idea is that the fate sends me a chance for new home in less that a month, yes it wasn't the one I want, but yet, so funny!
The second picture on my board was after party with a rock star. Every groupie dream to be invited on them, but this year I turn too old to be chosen, it's usually for 22-25 yo girls, and now I'm 10 years older, so it become almost impossible. And of course the universe not get my messages properly!!! Few months ago some idiot is saw my comments under IG posts and start to catfish me as pretending not on one but 2 of my favorite singers. LOL! Actually this is very popular fraud so I was able to block him immediately. Some more naive or curious girls are been asked for naked photos which he sell on Only fens after that, and other are directly asked to 'invest' money in some projects.
So, the universe goes too crazy and unwary in giving me what I'm asking for but in a very strange and non working forms! I start to get scared what will come from the other wishes. LOL! As you can see I wasn't put there my serious wishes, because honestly I didn't believe that it will work! But now I'll have to sit and make one serious and honest vision board.

Chris, have fun with your parents! Hope weather to cooperate!

Eva, I will definitely will try to find and watch Hinterland as I'm huge fan of British crime!

Cheryl, poor Lila, I hope she will be good today and no post stress! Have fun on your family meeting! Love the LO's I saw on IG!

Jean, I'm SO happy to see you! The chill celebrations turns the best! Oh, I'll check this artist too as I'm huge fan of paintings, and I wasn't hear for him before, love to find new treasures!

Kythe, WOW, your sister is so lucky! Please tell me that she have tons of selfies with celebrities! So cool!

Kay, one of my favorite movies ''Around the Bend'' is supposed to be at Albuquerque, but I'm not sure is it true or they use playgrounds. As many Hollywood action movies are filmed in my country, pretending to be somewhere else.

Not on Netflix here in Sweden. It's annoying how Netflix has different show in different countries. I've seen Lewis & Endeavour on our public service app. Was hoping they were going to broadcast Morse as well, you know like a summer feature, but it seems not.

New season of Virgin River is coming ... Friday, I think? This week any way. Looking forward to that, even though I get a bit annoyed of how they've altered the book. Lovely scenery though - and you live there!?! (watch out for them drug dealers in the woods ;) )

Eva if you use VPN Provider to secure your device they have this option to change your location and you can watch US, UK or wherever you choose Netflix selection. Just keep in your mind always to subscribe via affiliate link of someone YouTuber, at this way you support his channel and also got for yourself discount. See here.

I've been thinking about getting a VPN, but not come around to it. Might do that soon, I've soon seen all British shows available. LOL

I have a magpie baby on my porch! He's sitting there screaming, and what I assume is his parents are flying around looking after him. Mårten and Discord are in heaven - sitting just a few meters from a yummy little bird. If mom only would open the screen door. LOL

I thought he was hurt at first, but I've seen him trying to fly. Not good at it at all, but he's practising. I've named him Folke and I hope he will stay here in my garden. He's adorable. The black-blue feathers are lovely and he's like half the size of a grown magpie. I love him! :)

Googled and all I should do is leave him alone ... but I just have to talk to him. He's not afraid at all, nor for me, neither the cats. Worries me a bit, he should be more afraid. Not all people are as nice as me!
