Lookie-- I can spell October today. Not sure how I got that wrong yesterday but I banged that up for sure. ;)

Happy Friday!!!! I am looking forward to the weekend, are you? Darn alarms just go off way too early. Thankfully I am not dealing with freezing temps and have to struggle to get out of a cozy bed yet.

Yesterday, I have a to-do list that was a mile long and I got just about all of it done. I was able to get the kids' health insurance all switched, but still no luck on the Exchanges website. Maybe an a few more days I can try again.

Did all of you get done what needed to get done yesterday?
Finish It Friday is here!
I have to finish figuring out what I am going to wear to the Mourning Tea tomorrow. My friend is having us dress for it-- black/gothic/steampunk mourning clothes. I had a black velvet dress picked out but it is now going to be in the upper 70's and I think that might be way too hot.

And laundry-- I always have to finish laundry.....

Hope you all have a great day!

Laurie- I know! The sounds of ocean waves is heaven to me. I have one of those sound machines that has that one one it and I love to hear it.
How was your lunch?

Dumpty-- if I will millions some day I will personally visit you and bring some!

Nancy- That is great to have a son who knows cars esp with all of the kooky electronics stuff. How did your Devils do?
It has been so *loud* outside, between the birds and squirrels and chipmunks and acorns dropping. Makes me wish for the cicadas again (JK!!!!!) The other day I was slicing bread, and I heard this really loud knocking sound out back. I ended up sawing the knife through my knuckle as I turned my head to see what it was. ouch! Turned out to be one of those big woodpeckers just drilling away.
And I am glad that the principal spoke to me too--- my friend who was at the PTA mtg and heard about this was saying the school district (I think) has to take you to court if your child misses too much school. Really!! How messed up is that?????

Trudy- how is the back today? Hope it is much better!
Cait and I will be on the next plane out, thank you for adopting us!! :plane:

Laurie-- that is too funny about your phone and your freind hanging up on the ticket take :) I am glad that you found it.
Can't wait to see the pics!

Phyllis- did we know you were off to see the grandmen? Glad that you had a nice visit!

Hope everyone has a fan-tabulous day!

Good morning we are still having wonderful weather. My Devils lost 3-0. I know they cannot win every game and thank goodness I also know they cannot lose every game. LOL. Tonight is the home opener so I will be there cheering away. My eyes have not changed so need to get new glasses. That was great news. I also asked my eye doctor about why my eyes water so much. Well it turns out I have dry eye syndrome. The tears apparently are do not have enough oil in them so they keep watering. So the fix is to take Omega 3 supplements. How easy is that. It may take a few weeks to notice a change but not a problem as Omega 3 oil is good for lots of things. Then got home and my girlfriend ask me out to dinner. What a good time we had. Good food too. Also of course got in a good walk. Basically a really nice day.

Chris glad things seemed to calmed down a bit. Hope your tea goes well! Sounds like fun to dress up!

Laurie so glad your phone was found. That can be such a pain if they get lost!

Phylis glad your trip to visit the Grandmen went so well.

Trudy glad your back is feeling better!

Have a great Friday!

hiya. why does it feel like Monday?? oh, well. here's me, sitting at the computer. again. installing my personal books on tape CDs into iTunes, changing every little chapter and author etc., designation. i have developed a jumpy muscle in my right forearm from all this computer work. probably from using the mouse so much. it's bizarre. it just starts jumping all of a sudden, and not just when i'm at the computer. honestly. what next.

Oh, Nancy! SORRY about that. if it's any consolation, the pirates got their a** kicked yesterday....

Chris, i'm going to watch with interest how the new healthcare stuff works for your family. good luck.

Trudy, can i come to live with you, too? better warn your DH about all these women he's going to have underfoot....

Laurie, you always sound so organized! wish some of that would rub off on me.

today i have a bunch of little errands to run. one involves buying a bottle of wine. Hubby is away on vacation at his Alma Mater for the weekend, so i get to be a semi-slug for a few days. but laundry, like rust, never sleeps. so there's a lot of THAT going on. and some painting. and a little of this and a little of that.

have a good Monday! er....Friday!! :becky:

Morning "O" friends... looking to be another sunny day today, but a chill in the air!! Lots of fog around the lake, it looks so pretty!! Chiropractor told me yesterday that he wants to see me twice a week for six weeks!!!! Are you kidding??? He was showing me on a chart that I have a sprained ligament in my back and a couple of compacted discs in my neck and lower back. We will see... I have made two appts next week, but then I am off to Cold Lake to visit with my son and DIL and grandkids for our :canada: Thanks Giving. DH thinks he is just out to get our insurance money and he doesn't really believe that Chiropractors do anything for you anyway. :noidea: I am still in a bit of pain and going does help me feel better for a while, I guess I will have to decide if I should keep going after our trip.

Chris - I am anxious to see if your new Health Care will be better for you also! Dressing up for your little party sounds fun!! Hope you find something that's not too warm to wear! Pictures please!!!

Laurie - Whew, bet you were relieved to have found your phone!!!! I would have been in a big panic!!! Have fun with your online course, is it for work? or is it a scrapping course??

Nancy - Too bad about your Devil's, but like you say they can't win all of the games, but hope that they win the important ones for you! Enjoy the home opener!! Hmmm, my eyes water a lot also, perhaps I should try some Omeg3 suppliments too.

Phylis - Come on over!! It will be a long drive for you though :becky: perhaps you better hop on the plane with Chris and Cait?? Hubby will be thrilled to have all those women around, especially if you cook and help him bottle wine!! :becky:

Going to head out for a walk this morning and then get started on some calendar pages for my brother and SIL. They head off to Australia at the end of November and I haven't even started their calendar. Why do I always leave it so late??? Anyway enjoy your Friday everyone!!

Trudy, do i get to DRINK the wine, too, if i help make it?? :becky: re:the chiropractor, they generally want to see you a few times in a row early on. and, if course, they want to draw that out. my advice is just go until you feel better, then return when you think you need to. that's what i do.

Phylis - Of course you get to drink it too!!! But then we would never get anything else done would we?? No cooking anyway :becky: I think that is what I will probably do with the Chiropractor!!

always chatty at the O!!
Hey ladies!!

Just wanted to hop in and say hi. I had a busy day at work today and thought I'd write a quick note while I am still here and it is quiet and I don't have kids and husbands pulling me in different directions. LOL!! I got off 20 minutes ago but this is so much nicer to do stuff on the computer. LOL!! If only I could use photoshop here I'd be golden.

Life here is still crazy...not sure what's going on, which is the worst feeling, but it's all going to be okay so I'm not worried. People here are just frustrated. It is very strange being in the middle of the crisis being on a military base. Much different than just seeing stuff on the news.

Monday is my celebrate life day I have each year. A friend of mine died in a plane crash in '07 and so every year on that date I try and do something to celebrate living. Not sure what i will be doing yet. maybe I'll call in sick, pull the kids out of school and just go do something. Not sure. If anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it. Maybe I'll get a tattoo. If only they were free. LOL!!

I hope everyone has some fun weekend plans. I think I have very little planned. I hope it stays that way. A chill weekend sounds amazing. Hugs!!

Good evening- it rained today- I was not expecting that, but it is warm out, so not really a big deal. Trudy, the course I am taking is the Fearless Living Program by Rhonda Britten. She is a life coach that was on Starting Over about 10 years ago. I am learning a lot, my goal is to learn about whether to stay at my job, find a new job, or a new career choice. As you well know, my job has not been very satisfying lately. I am already noticing a shift in my attitude, energy and awareness. We have weekly modules, a weekly nearly 2 hour phone call and fearbuster exercises to do. The course is 10 weeks long and we are now working on week 4. I started late and I am trying to catch up!

Oh Laurie your course sounds very interesting. I hope it helps you make that decision about your career. But I say that if you are not happy in your job and you are more than qualified to find another then go for it sweetie!! Life is too short to be unhappy in anything in life!!

Hello my O sisters!!!!!
I'm proud of myself that didn't take me too long to come back, been feeling so guilty about not being around, and sure missed you!!!!!

Chris , hope you guys can sort insurance things....I cant believe what is happening in the world, and never thought America would be in this position...hope things go smoothly for you guys...
A Mourning Tea party? never heard of it, not sure of it is something fun or not? having you dressed up for it sounds great!!! can imagine you in velvet...swooonnn!!!!!
<3

Nancy, what a shame devils lost :(
I had a couple of eye tests, and the optician said I need driving glasses, but I find it that they don't do what they should do...need to go back to the store see what happens
My eyes are too dry, my GO had given me some ointments but I stopped last year when I was in with depression, need to have a look at omega 3, I know is true, good for lots of things! so it can't harm having it, right?

Phyllis: thought of you so much lately , had my eye screening last week for the second time, and I have to admit, I went SURE they will tell me things had gone wrong with my eyes, the way I have been eating...but to my surprise, it was clear!!!!
I took that as a start to not having...at least as much sugar as I was ....had a tough time last winter....things are looking better now but you know how it is, always something turning up to make us fight!
Hope you are well!!!!!!

Trudy…:( my mum had a herniated disc and had to do chiropractor for over a year
I wouldn't be too fast to dismiss them like your husband does…some of them are no good, but they helped my mum hugely… she was bent in half, couldn't even rise her head, and this was in 1974, when they didn't have the technology they have these days...I would do what Phyllis suggests...hope you feel better soon, I know more than anything how bad physical pain can affect us!

Clara cant start to imagine how difficult it must be for you guys, as a nation let alone in a military base, to go through a shut down :(
hope things get better soon…I'm praying for all to find a solution, not only the US but all the world I think is in the verge of collapse :(
LOVE your idea of celebrating the living, and yes yes to the tattoo!!! Sarita will have her done in February when she is 18 (OMG my little baby!!!) I really cant afford it ....but would LOVE another one!!!
how is the weather there? a picnic with the kids maybe?

Laurie, how great about the course!!!!
I know I did a course (you had to attend a venue though but pretty much same) on assertiveness after I split up from my husband and was left thinking I couldn't even fry an egg well….it was amazing, I never though I could loose myself , but even less that I would find it back through someone else's help…
hope you get a job that is good for your heart...or maybe the course could help you enjoy the one you have if the case is you need to stay...
either way, thinking of you :)

So, in my side of things: been sleeping little, scrapping quiet a bit which is great, just got some AMAZINg stuff here at the O and have another store trip planned so I can enjoy the challenges....next stop will be the gallery, I dont know how to thank all the love you guys have left me!!!!
Sarita is back toi her good self (well, as much as a teenager can be LOL)
I lost my carer, who told me she wasnt coming back via email (the bitch!!!!! sorry, but needed to vent LOL)
so now am in the painful process of getting someone new...needs to be a trustable person...so if any of you have friends in London, give us a shout and I give you the info about pay and all...
right, of I go now, but I am SO SO glad I am able to come hang around with you girls!!!!!! hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
