whoops! I almost typed that it was October in the subject. It feels more like Oct than Nov. It is in the 50s and it's raining. Dreary but not freezing. I will take it. I am more than a little nervous about how fast the month is going. I made an appt for J's rabies shot and it is on the 22nd- which is the week of Thanksgiving. Which is in less than 2 weeks. [faint smilie]

I am irritated with myself. I have some errands to run around town and I could have done them earlier in the week when it was sunny and warm(ish). But I wasn't in the mood and decided I would go after my vax appt today. I am going to borrow Caitlyn's raincoat I guess. I blew out my hair straight yesterday which means it is gonna go *poooof!* as soon as I walk outside. :D

Between me and Scott, the house looks decent. He helped take down the Halloween lights cuz even on the ladder I wouldn't reach. And he vacuumed the downstairs for me too. I want to have the LR/DR area at least dusted for my dad's birthday b-fast on Sunday but if the rug looks sort of ok, I won't worry too much about the rest.
I have also decided that I am the world's slowest crocheter. I am making soap sacks-- thought they would be cute to package the soaps/ bath bombs up when I do the gift baskets. Sure, I find a blog with instructions and "whip one of these up in an hour!" It's been waaay more than an hour and I am only halfway done.
Experienced knitters and crocheters: Is this similar to how recipe blogs are written? "make this beautiful cake in 60 minutes" Sure, that time might be accurate if you aren't counting the time it takes to chop the walnuts, melt the butter, so on and so forth.
Or maybe more like Google Maps: Estimated Drive Time: 20 minutes. Sure-- if you aren't counting traffic and stoplights and the person in front of you driving under the speed limit.

Or maybe, just maybe-- I am the world's slowest crocheter ROTFLMAO

Have a fantastic day!

@bcgal00 Have you floated down to earth yet? I am thrilled for you and Jen. Just knowing that you can breathe a little with the bills has to be such an incredible weight off of you. Add it to the memory of a super night together-- truly a once in a lifetime memory. <3
Sending hugs and good thoughts for B xo

@tanteva Have a good day at work today, hope you are being careful around the other people at work so you don't get sick again yourself

@Cherylndesigns do you have a walking stick? That might help you feel a bit more steady on the rocks. I have one in my car ATM, but it isn't mine. Scott left it in there when he borrowed my car and I keep forgetting to take it out. He will be mad at me if anything happens to it. it is his favorite.
Sorry that Chuck is wanting you to not walk. The only thing I can suggest is to tell him that you know he is coming from a place of concern and worry- but that you are a big girl and will beat him over the head with your walking stick if he doesn't knock it off. bwuahahaha
Scott wants it to just be the 4 of us for Thanksgiving. He thinks he is going to Arlene's sister's first then to my MILs. He isn't too crazy about Arelene's BIL. He is *very* money-focused, told Scott he should be a lawyer (like he is), kind of poo-pooed the Environ Sci because he won't "make enough."

@tjscraps - enjoy the hot tub!

Happy Friday everyone! I was totally MIA yesterday except for reading about Rae's fabulous news last night. I bet you are still flying high @bcgal00 !! What a fun and wonderful night for you all!! I too am sending hugs to "B"!! Yesterday we spent most of the time working on the fireplace. I took some before pics and some during the middle of the process and I will try to get the rest of it done today and take the after photos. If it doesn't turn out the way we like, it will have to be re-done some other way UGH!! But I think it will turn out the way we envisioned it! Keep your fingers crossed for me today! I also have to go and pick up my grocery order that I made yesterday and perhaps do a quick trip to the craft store and see what they have in that's new for Christmas. I should really pick up the hoodie that I have been looking at for our son for Christmas too. He wants me to put the name of his sailboat on a hoodie along with the word "Skipper". He loves his sailboat and loves that he is in charge when he takes her out LOL. So far I have made 5 Calendar pages and hope to get a couple more done over the weekend. Once I sit down to do them it really doesn't take too long to get them done.

@faerywings - Chris I am still in denial that it is almost the middle of November!! October flew past me and this month is going by just as quickly!! Nice that Scott gave you a hand with the cleaning yesterday, it will look just fine when you have your Dad's birthday breakfast, you will make sure it does I know! Too bad that the crocheting is taking so much longer than you thought, but that sounds like a cute little way to package your soaps for gifts! Oh BTW how did the coffee butter turn out for you? It was coffee butter right? My memory is so bad LOL. I bet your house will smell amazing when you get going on all of those gifts!

Well I will be getting a face time call right away, so I better get busy with my morning chores and grab a coffee, so I can sit and chat with Heather. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning ladies. Jen came over yesterday to visit for the day and give the dogs a play day together. She is still in shock about the winnings and she agreed with D's suggestion about paying off her car loan and credit card. The rest will go into RRSP's for Bailey. Her and I had fun in the afternoon, we went to value village and found some great books for B, she even found a white puffy jacket she fell in love with. I found some sweaters/shirts. Her and I haven't done that in ages so it was a good time. We all went shopping and D got some clothes and I bought some muck boots for dog walking. The day flew by. I went for blood work this morning and am curious to see what my thyroid is, if the numbers have changed in the 7 mths since I last had it done, while I've maintained a vegetarian diet. I get my eye exam later and will look at glasses. I also need to set up a physio appt in the next wk or so too. Lots to do today.

@faerywings I was always a slow knitter/crocheter too. Take you time, enjoy the process, I always found it so relaxing.

@taxed4ever Can't wait to see the fireplace when its done. I am looking forward to getting into a new home in the next year or two and maybe do some renos but now that we know we are leaving, we'll do as little as possible here, chances are someone will gut our place and redo the whole thing, its so outdated.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoy the day. I'd better get a coffee and get some work done before going to my appt later.

Hello all,

It's absolutely beautiful here and in the 60's! The trees suddenly turned over night and I got some great pictures. I went outside and worked in the garden and harvested some of my herbs. I had some fresh mint in my Sleepy Time Tea last night and it magically got rid of my heartburn. I watched an hour video that an Herbalist with a PHD in Herbalism had online. It was fascinating and I went outside and low and behold, there was wild brown mustard growing in our yard! She said that there were lots of what we think are "weeds" that actually aren't. I also have a plant identifier app on my phone and voila! That was for sure what it was. Years ago, I was into Homeopathic medicine and there's a real cross-over.

Chris @faerywings what a great idea to get a walking stick! I had an old beat up long stick that I picked up when we first moved out here, but it's disappeared. (Before we moved out here, I also read that those were good to walk with to ward off snakes. Yikes! I'll probably jinx myself, but I haven't seen one.) I just texted Ava (she's up at the Mercantile) and asked her if one of the artists there had any? Living in The Cherokee Nation, a very cool one shouldn't be that hard to find. I'll put leather and feathers on it. I know he's just worried about me, but Chuck is way over-protective. He also doesn't want me to start going to Yoga yet. I think I'll go on the nights they just have stretching - no strong body stuff. My ortho said I could start (gently) with my core training again. He suggested I do push-ups against the wall. I used to do those all the time. You do them standing up. When I go back first of December for one last x ray, he'll probably tell me to do whatever I want to.

Sounds like you're paring down Thanksgiving. I hate when somebody thinks they're all that and lectures people on how to make more money. I don't like to be around people who only talk about how much they have, how many trips they've taken, blahblahblah We have a couple who come to our get togethers and they wear me out.

Trudy @taxed4ever I can't wait to see your fireplace! I'm sure it's going to look amazing!! I'm going to go and get ready to ride into town and see Ava. I need to get cleaned up a bit. Happy Friday everybody!
