TGIF! It is a long holiday weekend in the US for the first time celebrating Juneteenth! For those of you outside of the US, it is the anniversary of the date that the enslaved people in Texas were finally told that they were free- well after the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of the Civil War.

It is a bright and sunny day, chilly at the moment but is supposed to get up around 80* Yesterday was gorgeous but chilly (to me) for most of the day. It was nice walking to get ice cream with my friend and our DDs after dinner.
Today I am going to see my BFF, float in her pool, and catch up on the last year and a half. I am so excited!

@tanteva are you feeling better today? I hope so, you don't want a sore arm to keep you from crocheting and knitting. *g*
I hope that your gov't is not making a mess of things. (When don't they? ha!)
I recently finished The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell which kept me interested and am now reading one of the books I picked from Prime Reading- it is a fantasy one and I like it since it is different than everything I have read in the past several months. I added Beach Read to my Want to Read Shelf on GoodReads

Kay- I cannot believe how hot it is going to be by you, glad that you have AC. That is a neat trick for the celery. MIL always stuck the stalks in water in the fridge but that is an accident waiting to happen in my fridge the way everything is shoved around.

@Cherylndesigns Great news that you are feeling better! I hope that you continue to improve.
I hope that COVID stays away too. It was strange when we walked over to get ice cream last night. We all asked each other, are you bringing a mask? When we agreed there was no need, it was really good yet weird at the same time.
Yay that Cameron is coming to visit! How long has it been since you saw him?

Hope all of the O-zies are good! xoxo

I'm feeling a bit better today, still a bit tired, but other than that - and a bit sore in the arm still - I'm fine.

Soccer today - Sweden's game starts in 6 minutes. Dinner is prepared and hubby will do the grocery shopping, cuz I'm in the sofa watching the game & crocheting. LOL

Woke up with a sore back and sore arms... took a few minutes to realize that it was because of the 2+ hours I spent making an inventory of the VHS tapes. This entailed laying on the floor in a 4'X5' space in front of the VHS cabinet while trying to read titles and write them in the tablet - then going into the MB and standing while pulling tapes and writing titles for another hour. No wonder the body is a bit sore this AM... The good news is that the inventory is finally done. Now I need to put the inventory on the computer and print out a clean copy. It was well worth the effort as I discovered tapes I had forgotten I had. I have several concert/holiday/specials by singers/groups. I was thrilled to watch 'Going Home' special by Kenny Rogers last night. Fabulous songs covering from when he first started through the early 2000's years. Also watched "Forever Young" movie with Mel Gibson, Elijah Wood, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Also discovered that I have duplicates of several movies... not sure if they are both good copies or not. I certainly have a lot of movies to chose from now... LOL....

I did get the chicken-fruit salad made and enjoyed it so much for supper. Glad I made it early in the day so the kitchen was still fairly cool while I worked on it. Since the heat is going to be over 100 for the next several days - I am happy to have it made so no cooking for a few days. They are saying it will "cool" off to the high 90's by next Wed/Thurs/Fri. o_O

Chris, so glad you had a good time with your friend and the DDs. Bet that visit lifted your spirits and gave you a taste of what 'normal' is again. Enjoy the pool and visiting with friends.

Eva, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Give your body time to get over the 2nd shot. Enjoy the game and crocheting.

Off to strip the bed and rotate the mattress. It is developing a bit of dip where I lay so needs to be rotated about every 4-6 months. Then will get my shower and get dressed. Another shorts and t-shirt day. CYL

Wow, Kay @BrightEyes , what a treasure you have there. I really should go through my old VHSs too and see what I have. I know what I don't have though - I had a movie that I had recorded from TV, that I loved - then made a mistake and recorded over it!!! Been trying to find that movie forever. It's impossible to get, cuz there's some kind of legal issues about some inheritance, and the movie is hanging in limbo. It's a Swedish movie, and I never think it got out of this country. Considered to be a really bad movie, I'm probably the only one that still misses it. Most people probably think it can stay in limbo forever. LOL

Good morning everyone. Lots of work today so not much time online but wanted to pop in and say hi. Feel fine after my second shot on Monday (sore arm for a few days and that's about it). Going to a small BBQ with friends tomorrow, the first time in over a year. Jen is coming over to dog-sit. Not much going on, other than a bit of scrapping and lots of dog training/walking/playtime. I often go to the dogpark for a few hrs before or after dinner each day. Got my hair cut even shorter yesterday so now it is super easy to take care of. Never thought I'd like a pixie type of cut. I'll come back on the wkend and check in, when I have more time. BFN

Good afternoon all.

I felt well enough today to take Daisy for a VERY SHORT walk - the shortest walk EVER, but she didn't care - it was our first walk in 2 1/2 weeks. Then I came home and watered my ferns and talked to them and even sat in my chair and watered my other plants.

Kay @BrightEyes good job!!! I'm blown away by all you did! Thanks for the pictures. No wonder you're sore today!!

Have a good weekend everybody.

Hugs
