Welcome, Friday! Who is ready for the weekend?
I think that Caitlyn is very, very happy for it to be Friday. She worked remote on Monday and was off on Tuesday for the holiday. Wed and Thurs they were in the office and had to make up hours for the extra time off. She left at 7.30 am and didn't get back until close to 7 pm. She was wiped out when she walked in the door last night.

Oh my-- I went to grab my coffee mug and take a sip, but I grabbed my water bottle instead. Blech!!! That is so disconcerting. *shudders*

I am going to sign off for now, I have to get the boxes out to the curb before 7 which is15 minutes from now.
BRB!

Good morning ladies! @faerywings I absolutely could not agree more with the need for the weekend! I can do weeks with a 3 day weekend but I cannot do weeks a Tuesday off. That should be illegal. I've been confused all week and I need to re-set with a weekend.

I am hoping that my office is done today...at least enough that we can move the furniture in. I don't care if he hangs the barn door next week or if he paints the outside of the office next week...just please let me get my office situated. And did I tell you that we are replacing our living room sofa...even though they were leather, the dogs are hard on them. We are getting modular pieces that need to be constructed (yes, with a drill or screwdriver) by a company named HomeReserve. You can take off the covers and wash them when they need washed. Or you can buy new ones if you are tired of the color. The furniture has a 10 year guarantee. We bought one piece to try it out and Sydney put it together. It is comfy. So they are being shipped now and should arrive on Tuesday.

Could it be that by this time next week it will be "kind of" settled? I sure hope so.

Ok, the boxes are all by the curb-- 13 boxes and bags in all. And to look at my house, you wouldn't notice any difference. hmph.
Next time I get a notice for more donations, I'll get some more junk together. If I do that enough times (100 more, maybe 200), you might, just possibly, see more house and less junk.

More HHH weather but a chance of showers on and off all day so I don't think I'll be outside at all. I weeded for about an hour, the tiger lily leaves are getting brown and the rain crushed them into the dirt. A soggy mess.
I don't have any big plans today, I have a page to upload and a little bit of housework.
My "big excitement" of the day is baking a tomato pie in the toaster oven for dinner. I've never baked something like that and I'm not sure how it's going to turn out-- it should be fine, right? No way am I turning the regular oven on. Nope.

How about you, anything happening?

@LSlycord How did you do at the dentist? I hope that it was easier this time around.
I cannot find the article I read on how to stop apologizing for everything but if I stumble on it I'll definitely share the link. Sounds like we both have that issue :giggle4:

@bcgal00 Who is happier in their pools, you or the dogs?
Hahaha!! TFS your photo/hiking injury story :D
Please tell Jen we are all thinking of her and hoping that the physio helps quickly.

@vickyday That's such a bummer that you didn't get to see the sunrise. You made it home early so at least you and Mark got the freezer running. Looking forward to seeing your photos and pages too!

@Cherylndesigns OMG!! Lila had a seizure? Has that happened to her before? Is it the noise or the anxiety (both is my guess) that gets her? Poor sweetheart :(
Safe travels to Ava and Kinleigh. One good thing is that maybe Kinleigh will be so exhausted by her visit that she will rest more than talk. One can hope :lol23: Give a hug to Adrienne from me, it had to be hard to say goodbye to that little one.
Love that photo of that more-than-half-empty glass. Why bother making the glasses so big if you aren't going to fill them? Sheesh! :drunk:

Big hugs to everyone!

Hey there Linda! Just a few more hours and you can relax again for a couple of days. Between the move and Syd and Tampa and the construction, it is no wonder why you are all :spinningchair:
I am fascinated by the new sofa system. What an incredible idea, so smart. LMK how it all works out!

Back in for a quick one. @faerywings that is the perfect emoji for my life. I'll take some pictures of the sofa system while we build it. The dentist was easier yesterday...don't know why but it was!

@vickyday I can't imagine returning to this heat. It is truly oppressive. But glad that you have the freezer saga behind you. Now you can start filling it. Notice how there is always a "now you can..."

@bcgal00 hope that the stretches help Jen. It must be so discouraging to have that knee slowing her down.

@Cherylndesigns good thing that Ava and Kinleigh went to Tulsa last night. Even Ava's energy wouldn't hold up with the drive before that. And I thought maybe girls day would get a pass with all of the activity but I hadn't quite thought through that. Adrienne will really feel like she is at loose ends...glad that you are there for her. And so sorry to hear about Lila's seizure. We used to have a dog who had those frequently...but we never got used to it.

Ok...I'm off to work. I got my "winners" updated this morning so now I just need to send the coupons. That may wait until after work however.

HAGD everyone.

I didn't have the week day confusion I normally do with a holiday interruption since our vacation started Monday.
You'll have to show us the new furniture from start to finish. I like the idea of being able to wash or change the covers!

Yes, I'm glad the freezer saga is behind and now I can work a little each grocery trip to fill it. It will take some time because we've had extra expenses lately, including the freezer, we need to get caught up on. It never ends!

Good morning ladies,
Yesterday, in my extra tired stupor I worked on documenting our trip. I have 3 pages done @faerywings . I'm going to post 5 at a time. I'm trying something different with these pages. I'm using one of Anna's album sets and only coloring the stains from the templates by picking colors from the photos on that page. I'm picking a color from the photos to fill in the background, too. I want these pages to be documentary in nature versus artsy. And I think I can finish them quicker, too.

Ilene got back yesterday, too, from her almost 3 weeks away. I may go see her later, but I've been fighting aa stupid headache all night and today. I think I am just overly tired from not sleeping much on the trip. Who knows! I just need to get back to the doctor to get the testing process started to see if they can figure out why I have so many headaches. I just dread the process, not to mention the cost!

Anywho...That's about it for me. No big plans today. Mark is in the woods. A tree broke off and almost hit the cabin while we were gone so he is cleaning that up. It's big enough it would have caused significant damage! Thank You Lord for directing where it fell!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I have coffee with my ladies group today and errands to run. It's been really hot here so not spending a lot of time outdoors except for short play times with the dogs and pool time when I get back this afternoon. I just started Fairytale (Stephen King), its a big book so will take awhile to finish. I'm enjoying getting back into reading. I just finished "Confessions on the 7:45" and really liked it.

I had my dentist appt yesterday and at the end of it, I got up out of the chair, forgot my glasses were in my lap, they slipped underneath me and as I got up from the chair, I crunched them. They are mangled and I don't hold much hope that they are fixable. They are my oldest glasses but my fave b/c they are the most accurate for reading up close and are very lightweight. I'll bring them in and see if they can put them back together.

@faerywings Hope your tomato pie works out.

@LSlycord The sofa with the removeable cover sounds great.

@vickyday So glad the tree didn't hit the cabin. Whew.

I'm getting more coffee and go find a sun dress to wear today to keep as cool as possible while I'm out today. HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

Well, I babysat Kinleigh for almost 3 hours yesterday - here. Chuck didn't think I'd be getting up til noon today. I played with her the whole time she was here, too. I needed to get one thing done on my computer and I bribed her into sitting in the chair in my office while I did that. Then, she was off and running. That child never stops and never stops talking either. Poor Ava, I hope she is so exhausted that she doesn't keep up a constant stream of "Kinleigh talk" all day. I understand most of what she says, but every once in awhile, I don't and she gets frustrated. I say "show me" and she does. Steph called me and I told her I was running out of things to keep her entertained and she said "have a dance party". Asher and I used to do that when he was about her age. Good idea - I got my speaker out and turned on my playlist for "my walking music". We danced in the kitchen, and she loved "Hand Clap" and even started clapping her little hands at the right time. Anyway, that wore me out, but not her. Then, she wanted to go outside so we did that. She smelled all the flowers, and we went in the front and the back. I tried to get her to sit on the front porch with me but that lasted about two minutes. We went out and listened to the birds and she walked along all of the railroad ties (we have them lining the driveway and the road up to the corner by Adrienne's house. She had the best time walking on those. The things that kids like to do. Haha She picked up some sticks and "planted them" in a few of my pots. She was so proud of herself. Anyway, Roger came and got her about 5:30 and I was pooped.

Chris @faerywings I KNEW you'd love the picture of that wine glass. Why DO they put it in such a big glass anyway? Makes it seem even LESS - use a normal size glass. It wasn't even half full. Good for you for getting all of those boxes and bags out to the curb. Haha for "you can hardly tell it". That's so me. Stuff just grows around here - I swear it multiplies on it's own. That tomato pie sounds scrumptious! I've never had one but I love tomatoes and I love pie so YUMMMMM. Adrienne makes the best fried green tomatoes.

Linda @LSlycord I'm SO glad the dentist was easier than before! Good, good news. Also good news that your office is nearing completion. Where have you been working? On the dining room table? I didn't know you were getting a barn door. I have one in the master bedroom - I had a barn door installed instead of a regular door into the master bath. I LOVE mine! One of the guys made mine by hand and it's gorgeous! I had always wanted one!

Vicky @vickyday glad you're home and I'm sorry you have a headache again. Hope it goes away and that you can go visit your friend. Hugs.

Hugs to everyone. I have some loose ends to tie up here and I'm not sure what is going on today. Adrienne and I will probably at least go to Starbucks to get our crack (I mean Carmel Frapps). :rotfl:It's been a few days since we had one. I'm sure w/d is sitting in with her, because I know it is with me. We vowed to only go once a week but we broke that vow already and went twice last week. We also said no more larges - only mediums, but then thought what the heck how many more calories/fat grams can a large have in it????? :floorlaugh:

XOXO

Morning, gals. I slept in until 9 AM!!! But... I did read until 10:30PM last night as someone was setting off fireworks until then! Every night since July1st! I am more than ready for them to stop!!! And for some reason since the gastritis episode, coffee doesn't taste good so haven't been having my coffee in the mornings.. <<< sigh >>> I worked on a CT layout this morning.. which felt really good. Have a couple of more CT LOs to do for Karen S but am out of steam right now.

I need to go to the Base to pick up the Rx that they were out of when I picked up the other meds last week. Need to do it in the morning as the temps will be 100+F for the next several days. Thank goodness the humidity is not high along with the high Temps. No way to do I want to get out in that high of temps.

Hello, beautiful people! It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
Long, emotional week here. My father lost one of his sisters. I was blessed enough to be able to make it to the hospital to say goodbye, but it brings a lot of deep, hidden emotions to the surface. They all took the fun out of dysfunction many moons ago. Our generation of cousins can't rap our heads around it, I often think their childhood was so hard they are reminded of it by seeing each other. I just don't know. I am just thankful they all managed to come together; though I'm sorry it took losing their sister to make it happen. Anyhow... I'll save all the rest of my therapy session on Tuesday. (by therapy session I mean here... on Tuesday.) ;)
I hope everyone gets much needed rest this weekend, that aches aren't achy and hearts are healed.
PEACE
