Helloooo!
:xmas-sheep:
(I am seriously *way* too happy about the smilies for a middle aged-lady ha!)

It's Friday, and wow the week flew by, didn't it? Actually, the entire month flew by. Scary how time speeds up as you get older.

I had a perfect day yesterday- not that anything exciting happened, but I have scrapped quite a few pages this week and that makes me happy. I have really been enjoying scanning the old pictures. The scanner does a lot of the hard work with adjusting the color/exposure/worst of the dust and scratches. PS and Nik Effects Filters do a decent job on the rest. Some of them are still pretty blurry or blown out, but I can improve them so you can see faces again. LOL I don't know if the Nik Collection is still available online, but a few years ago it was free as they revamped it. THE HDR filters seem to help a lot. I have no clue what any of it means but I just mess with the sliders until it looks better. ;)

Sam and Scott were feeling slighter better yesterday although I can hear Sam coughing so much. The rest of us are fine *keeps knocking wood*
I don't have anything planned for today. I was supposed to go down to see my mom today but I not doing that. Even if I test negative, I won't take a chance with her or my dad's health.
I have a few LOs to upload -- the Color Play this month is 100% drool-worthy
Other than that, same old same old- laundry, vacuuming, food shopping spot for next week yay. Fun.:rotfl:

Hugs to you all!!

@LSlycord I am glad that you did nothing. That was the best thing -- to rest. (I know, that's really freaking HARD!) Did your Drs appt really last for 30 minutes or I wonder if that is what she needed to bill you?
That would be a phenomenal experience for Syd to work with her professor. Both of my kids had to do research projects and both were *supposed* to be presenting at conferences. In April 2020. Of course. :( Pffffffft.
As for her going to Germany- *sighs* It's such an amazing opportunity. My friend across the street-- her DD spent a semester in Italy and one in the Disney Program. I don't know how she did it, she barely saw her for an entire year (Her Winter Break was partially spent in Israel with Birthright). I know it was very hard for my friend but she knew how much Dani would get out of the experiences. It seems like Syd will be just fine and we will be here to support you ♥

PS: love the :soapbox: too

@vickyday Soorry for being confusing, no, my fingers are fine if a bit crooked and lumpy ;) I guess it was just a habit of mine to play with the band of my rings. Muscle memory takes over and I still do it and wonder why it feels different. Duh. Muscle memory can be really interesting. I quit smoking in 1991 but if I park in one spot-and only that one spot- in my parent's driveway, I will automatically reach to push in the lighter in. Push in lighter/put on seatbelt/put the car in Reverse, light cigarette/back out of the driveway. 30 years later, that habit is still there but only in the spot I used to park in when I lived there. Kooky. :D

@@brighteyes today's the big day!!!

#cheer-3

We are all excited for you! *throws change on the floor of the car*
Your sounds like Gary's Aunt, and her DD, M. The Aunt and I were pregnant at the same time and Gary's cousin and his son were born 4 days apart :D M and Scott are second cousins but always called themselves cousins, which made it easier and less eyebrow-raising.
The Color Play is simply stunning, isn't it?

@taxed4ever I hope that your back is less sore today, but wow, what a hike! Was that the longest you had been on for a while? Congrats to Wendy on her retirement! Does she have any plans or just going to take time to breathe a bit?

@bcgal00 hugs, love, comfort, and strength are all being sent to Jen. I can't imagine how difficult the last month was for her, she must be just drained, physically and emotionally. I hope she has a support system, therapist or support group to lean on. I know she has to but you need to grieve and heal as well. Hugs and more hugs.
You somehow make keto sound extraordinarily delicious. That's odd to me since I am 100% carb.

@Cherylndesigns I love *all* emojis but the rolling guy is at the top of my list.
Yesterday's Gary Thing was to give AI prompts to create images. SMH. All day. Although some of them had my LMBO.
Congrats on the new computer!! Thank goodness you have Bradon to help you. I would be nervous transferring stuff that I would accidentally delete everything.

Kay- stay warm!

Good morning ladies. I am sitting here in bed with both dogs and a #coffee-4courtesy of Brian. My laptop is open and I am determined that I will get some scrapping done today! My mojo seems to have left the building.

The appointment definitely didn't take 30 minutes. I think that the doctor worries about technical difficulties and that's why she schedules it for 30 minutes. #crazy-2All that I can tell you is that she prescribed Paxlovid and I'm feeling decent...just no get up and go. Which probably is best since I'm not supposed to :dance2:get up and go anywhere.

But boy do I have big news! It's a secret but I totally trust all of you...especially since you don't know these people. I got a FaceTime from my nephew yesterday afternoon. That always worries me when I see that he is calling...he doesn't call often. They are expecting a baby the first of June but I didn't think that they would find out the sex since they hadn't with their first. However, at this 20 week appointment, they decided to find out. And...drumroll please...they discovered, at the 20 week mark, that they are having twin boys!! They have a little girl who is 16 months so boy will they have their hands full! The doctor said that she had never had a patient in 16 years where they didn't discover twins until the 20th week! And the family name continues.

I called my brother to congratulate him after talking to the nephew and his wife. My brother will now have 5 grandkids under the age of 2 1/2. What a wild ride that will be...which of course makes me miss being in Iowa. But I am so grateful for FaceTime. And the best news is that they say they probably won't let them go more than 38 weeks...which is when Syd will be gone. So maybe I can make a trip to Iowa for a little while!

So many possibilities.

I love having the emojis back...and while I was typing that post, I realized that I need emojis of a fast little red car, a mouth with a zipper and ... well you get the picture. Pun intended!:rotfl:

@faerywings I am sorry that Sam is coughing so much. I hope that she turns the corner soon. But I am glad that it hasn't spread to the rest of you. Also very happy that you made it to your folks to gather the photos before this started. I love that you and your brother and dad were able to re-live those memories from the old days of vacations to Maine.

And, as much as I will miss Syd while she is gone, I always hoped that the traveling that we did with the kids would help create a desire for more travel and it seems that it may have worked!!

@BrightEyes I love ColorPlay and this month's colors are extraordinary! I've got to do something with it today! And, today is new car day. #clap Can't wait to see the pictures. (And again, the little red car emoji is needed.)

@taxed4ever the hike sounds like it was wonderful except for the back. However, glad that you had the hot tub to relax afterwards.

@vickyday I continue to love this book. I am so grateful that you introduced me to this author!

@bcgal00 I am so sorry that Jen is struggling. I can't imagine how difficult it is for her...and how difficult for you too.

Hugs all. Have a great day!

Morning, all. Quick in and out here. I got 2 Color Play LOs done and uploaded!!! Didn't think I would have time to do them this morning but was awake way too early again. Another cold day... 19° !!! It actually dropped down to 17° but now it back up to 19°. :brrr: :brrr: :brrr: :brrr: The humidity is also up... so the body is feeling stiff and not wanting to move. Going to sit on the chair massager with the heat going as soon as I get dressed.

Yes, today is the day I get the new car!!! He is suppose to pick me up around 1 PM and take me to the dealership to finish all the paperwork.

Morning everyone!! I am up early and I am all ready to go and meet my sister Pam at 8am to give our sister Wendy her retirement surprise. Boy will she be shocked to see us at her work place that early in the morning! I spent most of my day yesterday getting her retirement card done and working on a layout for the Colour Play and started a second page with Vicki Robinson's new kit. I had to dig around for some old vacation photos, but I found some good ones with photos that I took with my big old Canon camera. It did take amazing photos but man I don't miss lugging that thing around me LOL. Today I will get the vacuuming done and work on finishing my second layout. I will pop in later to do personals as its getting close to time for me to leave and I still have to get dressed. Have a great morning everyone! I will be back in a bit. :waving1

Yes, time flies as you get older. But the real question is, "Are we having fun yet?" Some days I am and some days not so much! Yesterday was one of the "not so much" days, LOL!
I'm like you on the filters. I have no idea what they mean or what they do. I just mess with the sliders.....when I even try the filters which is not very often!
Glad you, Gary and Caitlyn are still not showing signs of covid! I think it is a good idea to not go around your parents!

Good Morning Ladies,
My IBS hit me last night, so I went to bed at 10:30! Woke up at 5:45 and had to take some tylenol for a headache. Went back to sleep for a bit and then tried to lay quietly until Mark woke up at 8:30 since he is not working Fridays again. We went to breakfast as I was hungry before we left. Not so much when we got there, but I ordered a breakfast sandwich of bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit. Could only handle half of it and brought the other half home for him to eat later.

I was supposed to go to the Christian school where 3 of my grands attend about an hour from here so I could take pictures of the basketball homecoming but I'm not feeling up to it. My DD said it was OK as someone will be taking pictures for the yearbook. She and her DH will be escorting their son down the center of the court. Their DD is on the yearbook staff, so I think she will probably be able to get some good photos.

Mark has gone to the woods.....imagine that, LOL! It is really chilly here today (not as cold as Kay, however! :brrr::brrr::brrr: ) so he will have himself a nice fire going. He will do some reading first and then get started on something woody, lol! Asher and I are chillin' in the recliners in the warm house, coffee in hand! #coffee-3

I need to go check out the Color Play since everyone seems to be gaga over it, LOL! I'm not much of a pink gal, but I'll have to see if I can piece something together while I am chillin' today!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I was up late (for me), finishing Kindred. I can't wait for season 2 to see how the story continues. This morning we go to the bank for a chat about how to transfer mature RRSP's out here. Basically I will be looking at my phone as D discusses it b/c I haven't got a clue. I didn't eat half of my omelet last night, I seem to have lost the taste for them. I prefer scrambled or fried. It's funny how our taste can change over the years. I'm obsessed with avocado toast with Everything Bagel spice sprinkled overtop, it is one of my fave things to eat. I am going to make hamburger soup (Trudy was talking about it last week) and I can have that with my avocado toast or jalapeno garlic toast.

Jen came upstairs, we started chatting and now I have to go get ready to head to the bank. I'll be back later.

Good afternoon. Feeling very dazed and confused this am. I about lost it last night trying to figure this Mac computer out. I told Chuck that it's like somebody dumped me off in a foreign country and I knew nobody and did not know the language to ask any questions. :holysheep::runningdog::hiding1: I knew there would be a learning curve between a PC and a Mac, but I wasn't prepared for this! I watched a few good videos on my laptop, and it helped some. I can't even figure out how to get on the internet yet. I feel so dumb!!! The best video I found was this guy who said, "So you just switched from a PC to a Mac and you're thinking what the **** have I done?". Bingo! I may not emerge for several weeks. :soapbox:

I'll try to get back later on - now I've made the switch back to my "small screen" laptop - I think I'm too old for this :poop::poop::poop:!!

@bcgal00 - So happy to hear that Jen came upstairs and was chatting with you! It has been a very difficult time this past few weeks for all of you I am sure! ((((hugs)))) to all of you! Sorry you have to spend time at the bank, hope you are able to transfer the RRSP without having any kind of a penalty, that Banks are so famous for!! I hope you enjoy your hamburger soup, its my DH's favourite and its great that its Keto friendly! Funny that I prefer to have scrambled eggs instead of an omelet too, I have scrambled almost every day, covered in cheese of course LOL. I used to love having poached eggs, but not crazy over those anymore either.

@faerywings - Loved you page that you got done with Karen's My Story Collection, I really need to get to work on mine too! Glad to hear that you and your Gary are still well, hopefully Scott and Sam are all better soon! Probably a good idea to not go and see your Mom and Dad!! You would feel just awful if they got sick. I hope you have another wonderful day today!

@LSlycord - Well what wonderful news you have shared with all of us!! #thanks-3 for sharing with us! How exciting to have some new babies in the family!

@BrightEyes - Brrrrr, it sounds really cold at your place! Hope it warms up very soon! Bet you are excited for the arrival of your new car today! Don't forget to get a photo for us!

@vickyday - I am waiting for my other sister to send me the photos that she took, unfortunately mine are not that great and sister Wendy has her eyes closed in all of them #dk. She really was surprised to see us and we paraded her around to the staff and embarrassed the heck out of her LOL.

Sorry I was such a "Debbie Downer" today. I'm just totally overwhelmed - I never expected such a huge learning curve from a lifetime of PC's to a Mac. I KNOW I'll love it when I get it figured out!! My new monitor is SO big and awesome that I know it will be so much easier for my PS and PSE use.
