For the next few days, double-check whatever date I type in. I am utterly lost when thinking about what *year* it even is currently.

My house is still operating under the theory of Chaos Rules. Most of the chaos is in the form of dog toy stuffing that is everywhere. They de-stuffed and destroyed every toy that they got. Some of them within minutes. W has been cracking me up because she loves wrapping paper so much, she keeps sticking her face into the paper bags full of wrapping paper that will go out with recycling tomorrow. I could put the bags of paper out of her reach but it is kind of fun watching her dig around to find the exact piece that she wants.:D

Today will be more of the same- tidying and organizing.
How about all of you, are you all back to normal?

Love to everyone!

Rae- Thw whirlwind is worthwhile when everything goes well! I cannot imagine how wonderful it felt for you and J to have B home with you for the day. I am so happy that she was so happy. My dogs were all pretty much sacked out yesterday, well in between de-stuffing toys. There would be a frenzy of fluff, then hours of not even seeing them move an inch.

Kay- If you have cheery/peach bread for dinner- that is healthy because of the fruit *wink*
I am bad with the decorations most years- when I want them away, I want them away *now.* So far this year I am good with them still up. Not that I can get into the attic to bring the boxes down anyway.
I am very happy for you that the snow stayed away.

Nancy- I am surprised that you went to PT yesterday. Good for you. I was a bit annoyed/concerned/anxious that my mom skipped her Cardio Rehab last Friday and then it was closed on Wed. She will go in today and hopefully, her BP/pulse/weight are all good.
That is really neat that your FIL updated so much of the family history. Any surprises other than your families living near each other many years ago?
You are very lucky to have a mechanic in the fam! Glad that it wasn't anything major. How is DH feeling today? The kids are going to PA with Scott's best friend and his GF- so it is the same crew that goes camping together every year, minus Brendan, but including rats. They are celebrating Christmas and NYE up there. It should be a good time.

Jean- Your Christmas sounds relaxing and happy! Ha!! Evil Cat cracks me up!
The walk sounds wonderful- 52* this time of year is awesome! We have been in the 40s and I am not as cranky when I have to take the dogs outside as I usually am.
I am not surprised at all that BIL loved the drawing. Gary *loved* the painting that I asked Leah to do for him-- knowing that it comes from family makes it all the more special, same for your BIL too.

Wishing everyone a very happy day and lots of coffee as needed. :tea:

Shhhh!!! I have been up for almost 4 hours already. Fell asleep early then woke up at 3:00 AM and couldn't fall back asleep. Will probably crash sometime this afternoon and need a nap. I need my :tea: !!! Already on my second cup. Where, oh where, is our Smilies of our huge coffee cup??

Chris, I was in stitches laughing over the dog wanting to dig out the paper pieces to play with... My DD's dogs love to dig into any stuffed toy and pull out the stuffing. They also do that to comforters. DD had put a comforter in one of the crates and her dog dug into it enough to make an opening... crawled into it between the layers... then couldn't find her way back out!

Yes, it is nice to have the house back to 'normal' again - even though I didn't have much out for the holidays. DH was one who liked to get decorations packed away before New Year's Day so we could start off the year with a "clean slate" as he called it.

Chris, you certainly shouldn't be climbing into the attic... you have a couple of strong men there who can put the stuff up there for you. My BFF took a terrible fall from the attic stairs in early November and it will be several more weeks/months before she recovers from all her injuries. So thankful that all my decorations are in the 3rd car garage space.

Rae... how wonderful that Christmas with B went so well. Wise decision to get things put away for her once she was back at the care home.

Nancy and Jean... sounds like it was a great day for you, too. Nice to take the 26th to relax and recover from all the festivities.

Last night for dessert, I had a couple of pieces of the fruit bread DD#1 gave me. Turns out it is cranberry and peach - not cherry... so moist and delicious. I need to get the recipe for it... or maybe not as I am having a hard time staying away from it. LOL She also sent me home with a slice of pumpkin pie along with some turkey, ham and gravy. I had meatloaf for supper last night so will have some of the Christmas leftovers tonight. Yummy!

Good Morning everyone!! Sorry that I have not been here to wish you all a wonderful Christmas, but I have been kinda busy LOL. The house has been filled with people, food, fun and laughter for the past couple of days and now the clean up begins!! I have had a really long facetime chat with Heather, Jonah and the boys and so I am very late arriving here at the O today! Yesterday afternoon after everyone left with full stomachs from turkey buns and all kinds of other leftovers for lunch, we promptly laid down on the couch and both had a nice long nap!! Then it was off to my sister Pam's for supper, more Turkey and Ham and other goodies!! I think I have already gained 4-5 lbs LOL. Oh well back to behaving myself again today.

Chris - Your Christmas sounds much like mine was, full of fun and chaos!! Minus all the animals though (some might call my relatives animals!) LOL . Hope that you get to enjoy some peace and quiet and that you get some real food in your house today! You could have some of the mountains of leftovers I have if you like!!

Kay - Uggh that is too bad that you have been awake for long this morning! I bet you are ready to crash and have a nice long nap right about now! The fruit bread sounds yummy! I have never had one with cranberries in it! Ya maybe a good idea not to get the recipe LOL. How nice that you got leftovers sent home with you! No one wanted any from us. Except for sister in law Linda who thought a turkey bun would be a great thing for her supper. I probably should have sent home leftovers with MIL, but she never ever asks us if we want any when we go there and only offers them to her youngest daughter, so I don't feel guilty for not giving her any. :sorry: it is very scrooge like of me. It is just that she so blatantly favours her youngest and it really hurts my DH and his other sister! I will never understand how someone can love one child more than the others!

Rae - Sounds like your Christmas was filled with fun and love!! Perfect!! Now it is time to relax a bit and catch your breath!! Hope that your work schedule did not start again today and that you get to enjoy a quiet day today!

Nancy - A lovely Christmas for you also! How wonderful! Sorry that your DH is sick, hopefully he gets himself to the Dr. soon! Hope you had fun with watching Hockey! Sorry that Canada beat out your USA team, but it sounded like a great game! I did not get to watch as all the men were in front of the television and us women were in the kitchen sitting at the table and having a great time chatting and laughing! Great score on the 50% off on your Calendar!! Whoo Hoo!!

Jean - How fun to get a gift from the Evil Cat!! Sounds like a lovely Christmas day for you and your hubs!! How nice that your BIL loved his gift and has a great place to hang it! Look forward to seeing your Christmas Day outdoor photos!

Felis - Hoping that your Christmas Day was wonderful too! Sending you love from very far away here in Canada :canada:

Ok I have vacuuming and :washing: to get done and it is time to get out of my kitchen area where the fumes from my self cleaning oven are becoming unbearable!! Have a great day ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. Quiet house this morning as D watches movies and I putter. Taz is still sleeping lots but playing a bit now. Funny how zonked out he gets when our schedule changes.

I'm catching up on some CT work and then later this afternoon will be heading out to an open house and then home later tonight to watch a few more episodes of The Witcher (Netflix series). Sat and Sun are more family visits and maybe another of our friends. So Monday will be my first "normal" day. I need to spend a day or two getting tax papers together but hopefully I'll find some time to get some freezer cooking done, need to organize the freezers and pantries and figure out what I need to stock up on again. I have a feeling I have doubles and triples of lots of things that are shoved into the back of the shelves.

Chris - isn't it fun watching the dogs play in the wrapping paper? Taz buries his face in it and then races around the house with it, shaking it and then frantically ripping it apart. So messy but fun to see.

Kay - love turkey leftovers. I've got to freeze some of ours as we won't get a chance to eat it soon enough and kept the carcass for instant pot soup if I have time tomorrow. Pumpkin pie is one of my faves and I just pinned a low carb crust so I can make my own soon.

Trudy - sounds like a wonderful time with family, I'm sure the nap was equally as wonderful :) I think I gained a few lbs too but I'm not worried about it. We know how to eat healthy and I'm sure we'll both be back on track quick enough. BTW, my low cream cheese brownie was a hit, you might like it.

I'd better go get some CT stuff done, walk Taz and get some things done around the house before heading out to a party. Have a great day everyone!

Hello girls!
Christmas days was just a lovely time!!! People act different when they are calm and festive. Lot of fun!
Unfortunately I have to work today and at the weekend, which reinforces my sense of Christmas as island into the sea of tasks.

Sorry, no personals again! But I'm so happy to read your lovely Christmas stories!
Kisses and hugs!

Continuing with the theme of no cooking this holiday, DD cooked again. (hubby smoked ribs and BIL made potato salad. How nice. We had a salad and baked beans. It was very nice. I also got to make chocolate biscotti with my BIL. What a treat!

We have so little Christmas decorations to put away it will be a breeze.
