What a day/week/month!
Not for me this time (although I can say that it is a little bit me as well) but for my BFF. The sister of my heart is not catching a break and I can't help. Things worked out with her DD but what a very stressful situation that was. The other day, she went to the eye dr and found out that she has a macular hole and needs surgery ASAP. The surgery and recovery sound pretty awful. I am so worried about her. I love her so much and she has been at her breaking point for a long time now. She went to the Dr thinking she only needed a new Rx and less than 24 hours later has surgery set for Monday.
If you all can send her some calming thoughts?

I got nothing accomplished yesterday. I really wanted to scrap but I screwed up some of my tagging of kits and spent my time out of bed fixing that. Gary ordered calzones for us for dinner, poor guy has been struggling to try to keep up with the housework. He said the other night that he doesn't know how I do it- and he isn't really doing as much as I do - not by a long shot. I better take advantage of the next few days because I will be doing all that again next week. ;)

Scott is supposed to be going to Maryland for an environmental conference with the research team he works with for the weekend. He is pretty sure that he is going but all of the carpooling is getting messed up at the last minute. He doesn't mind driving but doesn't want to do it alone nor can he afford the gas on his own. (as his worrywart mama, I would rather that he not drive 4+ hours at night somewhere he has never been on his own but I am not going to say that to him- just to everyone else :tape: )
I hope it works out.

Anyway, I should get this posted and grab some breakfast. My foot is getting a little tingly which is my sign that I need to get it up soon.

Have a fab day!!!::grouphug

Nancy- That is disappointing that the water is too cold for aqua therapy, but how neat to have a good time with nice people. Good for that 92 yo!
We are getting into the "April Showers" aren't we? Gary and Cait both told me that the crocuses in the garden are popping up. Gary even took a picture to show me. Other than that, with have very little in the way of buds. My forsythia is *just* getting that greenish tint to it.

Trudy- who wants to hike in the pouring rain if you don't have to? Not me! Scott would, rain snow... nothing stops him SMH.
I am shocked- shocked!- that you are being particular with the photos on the website. Of course you want it to look perfect and it will.
Did you get to work on the Lyrics challenge? That is one that I really want to try but am a bit scared to LOL

Kay- I hope that you slept better last night than you did the night before. BTW- thanks for the Kay Hooper book rec. I am reading Stealing Shadows now.

why oh why will no one send me their scrap mojo? :drama: :pound: Good for you for being able to get your pages done.

Sharon- Whew! great news about DD being back in Japan. Maybe not great that she isn't home with you but that she is safe and sound. I can only imagine how fast time with her flew by.
Oh no-- is MIL ok? Hope that she doesn't need too much chauffeuring her around.

xoxo to all of you!!

Morning everyone... I am up with the birds this morning. Got my DH some poached eggs for breakfast and have another busy day ahead of me. I wish I could have slept a bit longer though  Yesterday, I had another one of those days when I felt like I got nothing accomplished yet I felt like I was running all over the place
run-around-smiley.gif
My sister came to see me in the morning to deliver eggs to me, so that was nice, we had a cup of tea and nice little visit. Then I went to the pool and got in 30 laps!! Came home and had something to eat and then got a phone call from my brother. He and his wife just got back from being in Mexico for a month (so jealous!) So we had a nice long chat on the phone. After that I am not sure what I did, not much obviously LOL Got supper ready and enjoyed the rest of the evening watching some TV with DH. Oh I did manage to get my Etsy shop up and running, but still need to add a few more items to it . I have named my shop IslandlifeAcrylics, but still not sure I like the name or if I should simply call it TrudysfluidArt, for some reason it has to be all one word. So what do you ladies think? Any suggestions for a better name?

Chris - Sounds like you and I had the same kind of day getting not much of anything accomplished. I am sending all of my calming thoughts out to your BFF and to you! How awful for her to have to go through this surgery! I was glad to hear that things have worked out for her DD though! I also hope that things go well with Scott's upcoming trip and that he will not have to do the drive by himself! We never stop worrying do we? Get that foot of yours elevated my friend and take care of you today!

Kay - You had a very busy day yesterday and I hope that you had a much better sleep last night! I hate that we can never seem to get more than one good sleep at a time! Hope you figure out which unit to take out of your cabinet and that you manage to figure out all the wiring. At least it will all be dust free and cleaned up, dusting is my most hated household chore!

Sharon - Wow your visit with your DD is over all ready? Where does the time go? Glad that she made it safely back to Japan! Sorry to hear that your MIL was involved in an accident! Hope that she is ok, so nice of you to take her where she needs to go!

Ok I am going to open my photoshop and get my layout finished this morning ! Have a great day everyone!

Wow... couldn't believe it.. I fell asleep at 9 PM and slept until 6 AM!!! 9 hours of unbroken sleep so I do feel much better today. Yesterday I managed to get some of the chores done that I have been procrastinating on. Cleaned up and dusted the large family room TV cabinet. Finally figured out where to put the new BluRay player. Dug out a small wire stand and put the cable box on it and slipped the BluRay player under it. Then got it connected and gave it a trail run. Whoo-whee... it worked correctly on the first try! ! ! ! My kids had given me Season 1 & 2 of The Outlanders. I have collected and read all the books so am very happy to have these. Also have quite a few more movie DVDs that I haven't seen yet. Also hooked up the new MB cablebox. And since I was working with "wiring"... I replaced the socket and cord to one of the Master Bedroom lamps. Got it all put back to together and gave it a try... only to discover that only the '250' watt light works... it is a 3 way bulb/socket. Think that I hooked the ground side wire to the wrong spot. Was too tired to mess with it by then... so will switch the wires today. Hope that will solve the problem.

Chris, so sorry about your BFF's eye problems. Glad they discovered it early and maybe the surgery will help. Keeping her in my thoughts. Glad you are paying attention to the signals from your foot and getting back into bed when you should. Have to LOL... yes, the guys don't realize what all we do until they have to sub in for us! My DH was not a cook so we had a lot of carry-out meals when I was down. Glad you MiL brought in some meals for you.

Nancy, sorry the water temps were on the cold side. But glad you carry through with your swim anyway.

Trudy... Congrats on getting your store set up!!! Picking a name for it is quite a challenge. TrudysfluidArt describes what it is but IslandlifeAcrylics might draw people in. I know a lot of people like anything to do with the sea... so that is a good. I do understand when you are busy all day but don't think you accomplished anything.

I never got around to sorting the laundry yesterday so that is at the top of my 'to-do' list today. Hope you all have a nice day.

good morning - well it is finally tax day. I have to print out forms for my DH but that is the easy part. But would have been nice if he had asked me to do this a while ago. LOL Not much happening today as it will be rain all day. Luther is at daycare so he will be busy. My western hockey team the Coyotes were eliminated by an Avalanche win. Sad but they had a great season and this is a team that is young so hopefully next year they can make the playoffs. Did watch the USA women defeat the Finish team but it was close with the Finns leading 2-1 but the final score was 6-2. The USA dominated the 3rd period. Good start.

Chris sending good thoughts for your BFF. Hope Scott has a great trip. Figuring out carpooling is always the pits. Have fun scrapping and keep the foot elevated. I bet Gary is tired. It is hard to keep a house running!

Trudy glad you got your laps in. Congrats on the Etsy store! I am terrible at names. Interesting how it has to be one word. Saw the Bruins won while resting some star players.

Kay you were a busy woman so not surprised you slept well. I too slept well. It does make one so much happier. I talked to the people at the rehab and they say that they want the water between 90-92. In the winter it was up near 95. I have to say I like that 95 LOL. But I am sure that with the summer coming I will enjoy the cooler. Congrats on being such a handy woman. I could set up a blu-ray but not the plug.

Sharon wow that visit went so fast! Sorry about the wreck and fixing the car. Will you ever go to Japan to visit her?

Have a great day all!

Hello O's!
We are in day 2 of terrible thunderstorms here in S. Louisiana. Water came up to the back door yesterday and I got our sump pump out (no small feat) and it is broken!! All I could do is make sure the drains were clear. One of my dogs who is afraid of everything needed lots of cuddling. That is easy! Waiting for the next round of storms and taking my MIL to get her hair done. My MIL is fine after the accident. Nancy- we are thinking of visiting DD for Christmas.

nancy-we always wait to the last minute for taxes because we usually pay! Happy to hear the womens team won. Great finish!

Kay- impressive work with the electronics! You are getting to be quite the handywoman!

Trudy- it sounds like you had a great day of catching up with your siblings!

Chris- no we never stop worrying about our kids whether they travel 4 hours or in my daughters case around 17 hours in the sky, then a train and cab. Praying for your BFF and her upcoming surgery.

Good morning, ladies. It's been a peaceful week, no news is good news, right? No word yet on whether B got accepted into the care home so we're still waiting.

I've been happy with my new schedule, more scrapping, less wasted time online (although I am still online a lot more than I should be lol), still reading lots and getting outdoors lots.

Chris - sounds like you are recovering well. Poor G, feeling overwhelmed with doing your chores. I'm not surprised he doesn't realize how much you do. You are always busy, always doing something. Sorry for your friend and I know you feel helpless but I'm sure just being a good friend to her helps her more than you know.

Trudy - yay for getting your etsy shop up, your paintings have been fabulous. I vote for islandlifeacryllics. It sounds more professional than the other with your name.

Hope everyone is well. I'm getting back to work, just wanted to pop in and say hi. I've got a busy wkend with B and Jen while D is on call for work. I'll pop in at some point over the wkend.

Have a great day.
