Hooo boy, what a week. The stuff that got crammed into this one week has been kind of intense. (I am 100% ignoring the fact that technically, I still have to get through today)

Yesterday starts off pretty normally. Some small glitches here and there, same as everyone deal with. I called my mom mid-afternoon to see what time she wanted me to come down today. She is all out of breath and says she can't talk. Then tells me that my dad fell again, hit his head and the next-door neighbor was trying to convince him that he really should go to ED to get checked out. Annnnnd, guess what he was doing when he tipped over?
Yard. Work. Dammit, Dad! We had this discussion on Sunday. I was going to come down on Friday to help them out. Told him I would work all day for a bottle of my favorite wine. But no. Silly man had to do it himself in 85* weather. And my mom is no better, she was on their deck washing off the table and chairs. WTH?? Thank goodness his skull is so thick. (He fell off the back of a fire truck a few years back, thought he was fine- nope, he had to have staples all along the back of his head) SMH!!!
To cap off my day, Caitlyn and I were waiting at the vet when my brother calls me. He is saying something about how my SIL thinks he needs to go to the hospital to visit. I keep telling him not to go. My dad was already irritated that he was there ( He was grumbling about how stupid he looked with a bandaid on his head when my mom called me with an update). The last thing my dad would want was a "visitor." I joked with Cait that it's kinda terrifying that *I* am the calm and stable one in the family. Her reply: Not true Mama, some of them are dead. :giggle4:
At any rate, my mom called while we were still out, and he is fine. He was dehydrated and had low blood sugar. And they told him to stay inside when it is hot. Will he listen? I am not gonna take that bet.

Not great news about Squirrel either. The vet really didn't think it is an abscess but gave her an abx injection anyway. The lump- whether malignant or benign- is inoperable because of its location, too close to the urethra and colon. Cait had a feeling that was what he would say but it's still tough to hear it. Rats are really one of the best pets ever, other than their very short lifespan :(

The wildfire in town is still going strong, only 30% contained this morning. I can't see or smell it where I live but my FB feed is full of comments and pictures from people who can. Someone posted a photo of an engine from my dad's town, but not his company. Does anyone want to bet how much he would want to come up here if his company is called out? That's another bet I am not willing to bet against. Nope. Anyone want to bet how fast I would drive to the fire and drag him back to my house? :lol23:

Wish me luck today. I am still planning on going down to help my parents a bit. A bunch of stubborn Iantoscas is always a good time to be had. /snark
Oh, gawd. I think my brother said something about him being off for Employee Appreciation Day. If he goes there too, add one more stubborn Iantosca to the mix... (No no no..... please no....) I love my brother, very much, but like I said *I* am the calm one in the family.

@Su_Sanne It's so weird about the gif you posted. I can see the noses twitch but only once and only the first time I click on the image. Whether it is working or not working, the image is adorable ♥

@tanteva Yay for finding the trim action!! Boo on the
Hahahaha!!!! LOVE that sticker!! Not gonna save it but I am laughing over it. You really are "absolutely bonkers." :exitroom:

@vickyday That's too bad about ginger making your stomach worse. I am like that with mint which is supposed to help with indigestion. Mint makes me feel even ickier.
You *could* try drinking your ginger shampoo but it might make you fart bubbles. :sparkles1: :floorlaugh:
I am so happy that you and Mark were both feeling up to going out to lunch!

@bcgal00 Oh sweetheart... What an utter mess of a day. All of it - and while being in pain from the eye drops- It's too much. I am sending you every last bit of good thoughts and love I got.

@taxed4ever How fun to hear about the boys' music festival at school. That's too bad that it's so complicated to share videos, was heather able to take any of her own?
Your hike must have been wonderful, too. Have a fantastic and romantic  time away
Red ants-- that's a good possibility for SuSanne's arm.

Wishing everyone the best today xoxoxo

I am bonkers!

In 4 days I have created 546 digital stickers. No, seriously, 546. I'm having so much fun LOL It all started with me looking for some great scrapping kits to scrap about Veganuary - and there are so little kits about vegetarian diets. So ... I decided I needed to make me some wordarts myself. And I really like how they turned out ... now I'm trying to do word stickers for all my future needs. LOL

Like I said, bonkers.

I haven't been active here much lately. Works been crazy and I've been so tired ever since I had that ear thing during Christmas. Called the dr's on Tuesday & yesterday they took a ton of blood from me. Logged in and checked, everything's fine with me. I'm guess I'm only a menopausal bonkes b*tch. Better learn to live with it.

Good morning ladies. Saw the specialist yesterday who agreed that stopping the glaucoma meds right now is necessary. I was having a reaction to them and my eyes are swollen and inflamed. I am back on anti-inflammatory drops for a month and then go back to him to try more meds. I've got dark glasses to wear over the next few days until my eyes improve enough to handle sunlight/indoor lights with regular sunglasses, then I can go back to my transition glasses. The pain is subsiding albeit slowly. As for our trip, it is all up in the air. The airport may open today but whether our flight will be there in time to meet the ship is unknown. We got a message from the cruise with a number to call to arrange alternate travel to meet up with the cruise ship later in the itinerary. Fingers crossed we don't miss x number of days of the cruise but its out of our hands, whatever happens happens. I am stressed but trying to be hopeful that our plane will get there on time.

@faerywings sorry to hear about your dad falling, also sad to hear about squirrel. Sounds like a good idea to go to see your parents today.

I'm getting off of the computer, I can only read and type for short periods as it bothers my eyes but they are getting better, so that is good.

I'll be around off and on today but leaving in the morning. I'll check in from the ship, depending on the wifi. So the next time you hear from me, I'll be on the cruise (hopefully, if our plane gets us there).

Good afternoon. I never got in here yesterday. I started posting several times, but it was one of those days. Lots of ins and outs and Casey came to clean, on top of everything else. I finally just gave up.

Chris @faerywings what a mess that must have been with your parents. I'm sure you're about to pull your hair out. They just don't want to give up. It's so hard to do! I'm sure your dad, especially, still thinks he can do the things he used to do. He can't, but he'll have to learn that the hard way. :( Sounds like he had a scare yesterday. Poor guy - he must be very proud and probably hates asking his kids for help. It's #devilto get old. I'm sorry about little Squirrell. Poor thing. Give her a little rat hug from me.

Rae @bcgal00 so sorry that you're having so many problems with your eyes and also, will keep my fingers crossed that you get out of there.

:waving1to everybody. XOXO

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Like @Cherylndesigns I never made it on here yesterday. I took the day off to work in the yard and was determined.... @faerywings Chris... I can only imagine your father out there in that heat. While we are further north than you we got to 89 and I got so dizzy I thought I would vomit. Sat down for a bit, showered and ate and I was like a whole new person. I'm glad your dad is okay. He sounds as stubborn as mine. A few years ago my father went out to mow (no reason to do that, my baby sister actually lives with him).. but, that's beside the point. He started having chest pains. Thought he was overheated... so he had a beer. (it was ten am) From there he went to lie down for a bit, then called his sister in law a half hour away to come take him to urgent care. SMH. Maybe stubborn is what keeps them going.... ugh

Today was another unseasonal scorcher, but I only trimmed roses instead of raking and hauling barrels of leaves out into the woods. Feels good to be outside again. While the winter wasn't harsh it was long. I'm out on the catio now... with no cats... not sure what's up with that. It's a beautiful evening. I can sit out here and scrap and not turn on the news. Another bonus to good weather as I'm a news junkie and it's not always good for the soul. Bob has mentioned more than once we should put a TV out here....... NO!!!!!!!

Whatever your weekend plans are... I hope they include something fun.

@bcgal00 I'm glad they had you stop the drops and I hope you catch up with the cruise ship. Going back to look at yesterday's posts. I missed what happened.

Hugs to all of you!

@faerywings Oh dear... just looked back at yesterday's posts. Sorry to hear about the fire. The cropping up all around here too. We're expecting rain Monday.. I'm thinking that's a good thing.

@Su_Sanne that arm sounds scary. Much like Chris I always take pictures. Never fails that it's gone before an appointment,
Do you have poison ivy where you are? I was never allergic as a kid. It never bothered me. Even in early adulthood if I saw it in my garden I'd just rip it out and get rid of it. Not sure what happened but the last few years... I swear I don't even have to touch it... I just have to see it (kidding of course) and I break out something horrible. I hope it gets better soon.

I do not watch the news AT ALL!!! I figure if it is something I need to know Mark or the pastor will let me know! During the last election my friend, Ilene, was a news junkie! And she literally DROVE ME NUTS when I would talk to her because it was all about politics! I told her she needed to stop watching so much as she was turning into a very negative person! She did quit listening to it every moment of the day!

Have a wonderful day!!!
I remember my dad and sister were always trying to be the one with the last word! They fought like cats and dogs! She was the baby and used to irritate the crap out of me and my brother! She comes up from FL every year to spend Memorial Day weekend and through the following week with me. I love her to pieces, but am so ready for her to leave when the week is over! Gotta love those family dynamics!
