I am feeling a little more positive and a little more anxious/depressed this morning. I am happy because of how much I adore my family. We sure are a strange and silly bunch. Dinner was another fun adventure. Leah was here too and I had missed her. :) The anxiety/depression is all news related so I am not going to get into that. I hear all of those sighs of relief from you!! heh!

I don't know what I did yesterday. I scrapped a page for kit coming out soon and it made me laugh. I was able to catch up on a couple of CT things here but not everything. That is at the top of my To-Do list for today. Caitlyn and I got a bunch more done on the puzzle we have going. This one is really tough but we are getting there. It is all swirls. Every darn piece is a swirl which makes it very satisfying when we find the right ones.

Not much happening here this weekend. I am making dog treats this morning and Gary will be cooking his penne and vodka for dinner tonight. Yum!

Hugs to everyone!

Rae- I bet that you got lots of stuff done yesterday although I hope you don't procrastinate too much with the tax stuff. Between desk stuff and errands you had a pretty big list but you never cease amazing me with your organization. I saw that you even got in some time to scrap. :hail:
You and Jen will be a perfect match when she moves in.
What is the Silent Patient about? I am almost done with The Testaments (M. Atwood) and I like it a lot- answers a bunch of questions that I had from The Handmaid's Tale.

Trudy- that cup of coffee after fasting is the best. I bet it was a good day to stay inside once you got home. Yes, between our main vet and the rats' vet, we are incredibly lucky.
Here is the kink to Leah's FB page: https://www.facebook.com/liquidsun.art/ You should be able to see it but if you can't let me know and I will link up her Insta page. She is interested in seeing your paintings too, so I am going to show them to her today.

Jean- We had a snow squall come through yesterday but thankfully it didn't last. I bet it was the remnants of your system since we seem to get whatever blows through from the west. Did you end up with enough to plow?
Don't think about housework stuff- think about art instead! (Am I being a bad influence?)
TY for the sauce suggestion, it really made a difference. Gary thinks it would also be a good base for a white pizza.

Kay- good luck with the tax info. We are going to be cold here the next few days and then it is going to warm up a bit mid-week. I saw the headline that it was the same temps in Antarctica and Miami the other day 65*F. That is terrifying. :(
Hope that you were able to get all of your errands done and that your foot is still happy!

Felis- You wouldn't catch me walking in snow and ice unless I absolutely had too-- you are crazy!!! Hahaha!! That was sweet of you to walk with your dad. though.
I hope that you hear back from the vet soon so you can get something set for when you do have a working car. I am glad I am not the only one who enjoys that feeling of control when I clean. I find that when I hear something neat, some bit of information, I have to dig in deeper. I love learning new things, I only wish that I could remember everything better.

I am depressed. I had to cancel my vacation to Japan because my dad's heath isn't the best and I am afraid something will happen while I am gone. He is 3 hours away from me in the nursing home. My brother is too far and DD is pregnant and can't help. Dad is 94 and now has brochitis and a floating rib. He was just in the hospital last summer for 5 days.

Hello girls!
I prepare my posts at Notepad to can edit them before post, so yesterday I was start my post, but then they called me and I never come back. I could post it at the morning as usual, but Saturday is my favorite day as I shouldn't be anywhere and was able finally to sleep till noon. I'm edited my yesterday post and hope I catched everything. Umm nothing interesting here as I'm enjoying my lazy holiday.

Chris, thank you so much for the Leah's link! They are very pretty, especially the one that looks like planet earth. She should make one moon too. Oh, again I'm like you, I do love love learning new things, but forgot them in days, . The most popular vlogger at my country makes videos with ''10 facts about...'' , it's my family favorite Youtube content. I really sorry these videos not have subtitles, as I know you'll like ''10 places that are disappear last 10 years because of the human impact''. And have also episodes about my country archeology treashures wich Trudy will like, but again no translation  .
Nice to hear you had nice time with your family! Stay away from the news, dear! If you can't change something, ignore it! (Advice I repeating myself all the time, but I have to learn follow it better  ) .

Sharon, sorry to hear that you cancelled your trip! But you wouldn't be able to enjoy it with these worries at your mind.

I slept in this morning... could have something to do with being up until midnight. I dropped off to sleep at 8PM then woke up at 8:45 and couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up and scrapped for awhile. I am between books right now... tried a few but they just didn't grab my interest. Need to take the library books back and see if I can find some that will capture my interest. I decided to not go to the library monthly book sale today. I have so many books I have already bought that I should at least read some of them before adding more. Will be donating some to the senior citizen center.

I did some straightening out in my bedroom... cleaned off the dresser top that was filled with stacks of photos, etc. I also cleaned out a big packing box of photos/albums that was over half empty... and consolidated it into the 2nd photo/album box. Yes, I am still working on scanning in photos... have a bunch from my mom and grandmother that I want to get scanned then will give them to my sister. She will appreciate having them plus a couple of albums from our parents 40th and 50th anniversary celebrations. She hopes to make a trip over here once the weather warms up.

Chris, hope your mood improves even more. Glad you have a good visit with the family. How are you coming on the puzzle?? I have several but haven't work on them for the past few years. Maybe when I don't have anything to do..(like that will really happen)... I will dig one out and work on it.

Oh, Sharon... so sorry that your dad is not doing well. I don't blame you for cancelling your trip as you want to be near by if your dad needs you. <<< hugs >>>

Rae, you have a lot on your plate... hope you get some of it done so you can relax this weekend.

I did get another tax statement yesterday... and found I already had one that I didn't realize I had received. It looked different from most 1099's. Only have 1 more to go. I spent time yesterday putting them all together so I am ready for the meeting next week.

I need to go shoe shopping and see if I can find a pair of shoes that is easier on my bad foot. Most of the ones I have cause the foot to start aching after I have them on for more than a couple of hours. Thank goodness I have a couple of pair of slippers that are fine for around the house. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Good morning ladies. I've been out in the garden, feeding and taking photos of the critters. Ran some errands and stocked up on my skin care stuff b/c they had a promotion on at the store and dropped off drycleaning for D. Then I popped into a small gift shop that I've never been in (after coming out of the bird store a few doors down). Glad I went in, I was able to find a hostess gift for tonights party we're going to. The birds were waiting for me this morning (I slept til almost 8). There were 11 jays in the tree staring through the window LOL. So when I went onto the porch with the food they all started nattering at me and flapping, anxious to get to the food. I no sooner shut the door behind me and they all swooped onto the porch.

Now I'm going to do desk work and sort thru tax papers for a few hours and then take Taz out for a long walk since we'll be gone late afternoon/evening so only gets one walk today.

The sun is out which is nice to see.

Chris - enjoy the dinner. The Silent Patient is good, I have no idea where the story is going so am anxious to finish it. A woman's husband is killed, she is found with him, presumed the killer (we dont' know if she did it or not) and has become mute. She was institutionalized and yrs later a psychotherapist is interested in her case and tried to help her and unravel the mystery. It's not action packed, moves a little slow but is interesting, a fast read.

Sharon - so sorry to hear of your canceled trip and your dad's health. Hugs.

Felis - I bet that felt good to sleep in.

Kay - I need to organize too. Today will be paperwork but in the next little while need to go thru my whole office and then thru the rest of the basement.

I'd better get going. It's amost lunch time now. I need another coffee.

good day - My Devils play tonight against the LA Kings. I am hoping for a second win in a row. The Devils defeated the Flyers 5-0 on Thursday. I am really really hoping they play that way again. I made it swimming wellness two days in a row too. Friday my DH stayed home and he was sick. But he found out it was only allergies. He made Shepherd's Pie for dinner.

Chris glad you made it through the week. I know those dogs will be happy!

Rae hope the party is fantastic!

Trudy glad to see Boston is back doing well. Hope the painting is going well. I am watching them play the Coyotes now.

Jean I loved the immature hawk. So beautiful. Hope all your meetings go well.

Felis I too like to walk in the snow. But walking in the rain is the pits to me.

Sharon so sorry you had to cancel your trip. That is terrible. I too would be depressed!

Have a great day all.

Good afternoon everyone! A early morning of shopping so we could be back home in time to watch the Bruins Hockey game. Looks like they are doing pretty well! It is a lovely sunny day here, but my goodness the wind is blowing like crazy. something must be going on down at the Lake at the bottom of our hill, the eagles are everywhere, flying circles all around the water. Not sure what all that is about :noidea: It sure is nice to see the sun again, its been a long time!! DH and I went out to Mr. Mikes Restaurant last night and had a yummy bacon mushroom burger :hungry: no bun for me though, it was delicious!! Tomorrow MIL and FIL are coming to take Gary out for his birthday lunch, a week late, but last weekend was the super bowl and DH did not want to miss any of it. Not too much else happening here. I have been painting coasters and matching trivets and today I got them all ready to be resined tomorrow morning. I will post a photo to my facebook artist page soon.

Chris - Thanks for the link to Leah's page, she is doing some awesome work! So happy for her! I started following her on Instagram too. Here is the link to my Instagram if she is interested in following me back https://www.instagram.com/dreaminginacrylic/
I hope you are enjoying a nice quiet stress free Saturday!

Sharon - I am sorry that you have had to cancel your trip!! I hope everything is ok with your Dad and I know you would not have enjoyed your time away worrying about him! You are a good daughter!!

Felis - Not too much happening for me today either, I will be trying to spend some time on Instagram I wish I was better at posting there and knowing my way around social media. I struggle to get more followers and not sure just what to do, wish you could be here to help me out! Glad to hear that you got to sleep in so late!!

Kay - Hope you are able to find the right shoes for your poor sore foot! Good luck with all of your scanning! I don't envy you that job!! Glad that you are all organized for the tax man!!

Rae - You have been busy running errands and getting so much done! Had to smile about the birds waiting for you to get the food to them. The hummers are the same with me, when I am late putting out the feeder after cleaning it. Sheesh I can't get it hung up fast enough LOL. Hope you and Taz don't blow away with all of this wind that we are getting!

Nancy - DH and I were happy with the Bruins win today, despite the major penalty call and playing so long short handed! Sure wish the officials treated every team the same, but they sure don't!! :mmph: Hope your Devils do well for you tonight! Hope your DH is feeling better, darn allergies!! Enjoy your shepherds pie!! :hungry:

Ok it is late and I should be doing some cleaning up and looking for something to make for dinner tonight! Have a great Saturday ladies (at least what is left of it)!

Oscars night!!!
Because of the time difference the Oscars night start here around midnight with special studio where local celebrities commenting the movies and give us little teasers, so to know for what is about every movie, because most people are watch one or two, but not all. Then is the red carpet. And at 3am the ceremony. Just hopes speeches to not go too political and the whole thing to stay more for fashion and style, than for US located problems! The commercials are the funnest part for me, because gives me time to like and comment on Instagram. Previous year we had participants from Bulgaria, but this we don't have, so it's not so exciting.
:pop2: But before that it's day for grocery shopping! I need to buy popcorns and then to prepare for the traditional pajama party, by getting some additional sleep at the afternoon so to be able to stand the whole night.

Kay, that's happens to me with the books way too often past year. Good luck with finding something to like!

Rae, love this picture of you feeding birds as one Snow White!

Nancy, hope your husband is feeling better now! The allergies are pits, that's why I'm not excited about the spring coming, they'll come too!

Trudy, I wish I was able to help you with finding followers for Instagram, but I'm not good in that neither. As I'm there mostly to have fun, and time to time to try to catch the attention of my favorite celebrities. You popularise your paintings so you should likes and comment on more profiles of interior designers and people that you want to look back to you.
Love the idea for double birthday celebration! I'm sure he appreciated their kindness to not distract him from super bowl!

Chris  !

Wow, I slept like a rock last night. I woke up after 6 and didn't get out of bed until almost 7. I wasn't exceptionally busy yesterday, in fact, I didn't do much of anything. I guess I was just tired enough. I also think it was b/c I put clean sheets on the bed. If I could have that done every day, I would. I swear that is one of the best feelings in the world.

We finished the puzzle yesterday morning and W was good- she found a couple of pieces on the floor but didn't destroy them so we hadn't lost one of them. As we work on the puzzle, it seems like there is no way we can't find a piece that should be easy to find. We call it, blame W. When we eventually find it, we apologize to her for unfounded accusations. :D

I made the dogs their treats yesterday and there was plenty of sweet potato leftover to share with the rats. All five were playing on Cait's bed and were scurrying around to grab a chunk from our fingers, run away a bit to eat it, then come back to lick our fingers. At one point, Tat and Dill grabbed the entire potato skin out of the bowl and were fighting over it, trying to drag it in opposite directions. Caitlyn picked it up and they were both hanging on to it with their teeth as she is lifting it away from them.
We were happy to see Evie enjoying this since she is still very shy and timid.

My parents are coming up in a bit with bagels today. Scott won't be here, he has to work at the Ecology Center. Two groups of Girl Scouts are learning how to make ice cream for merit badges and he is there to assist all day. But it will be nice to have them up and spend some time with Cait too. I will be with them all day on Tuesday for the pacemaker info workshop.

Aside from that, I have another busy week to prep for - nothing major, more running than anything. PT eval is tomorrow and I am not looking fwd to having to drive down there twice a week. I spend more time in the car than I will in the actual therapy part. :mmph:

Better get going, my parents will be here in an hour and I need to get ready. xoxoxo!!!

Sharon- I am so sorry to hear that. Sending you hugs of support!

Felis- you slept until noon! Wow! Here I am, thrilled that I was able to stay in bed until 7 LOL
Leah's paintings are amazing, I will tell her what you said. The painting that she did for Gary for Xmas from me was a b/w square one on her Insta feed. It looks amazing on my wall.
That is to bad that the vlogger doesn't do subtitles, it would be cool to watch them.

Kay- That is the pits that you fell asleep and then could;t get back to sleep after you woke.
Good luck finding some books that will grab your interest. It is so frustrating when you are in a book drought.
Puzzles become addicting when we are working on them. Thankfully, we have the plywood board to keep them on so we can move them from the table to the dog crate when we need to eat. heh.
I have to do the same with shoes in the spring. I will need some for the cruise that I can put my orthotics in, I can't wear my sneakers al of the time. Good luck when you head out to shop!

Rae- haha! That is too funny about the jays waiting impatiently for you for their food. They do that to my MIL when she is "late" throwing out peanuts and birdseed to them and the other critters.
How was the party?
I am going to have to add that book to my list. Sounds interesting!

Nancy- Did the Devils win again? Bet you were very happy with their win against the Flyers. Good for you getting out to swim!
My pups were very happy with the treats - W didn't want to leave the kitchen when I was baking them.
Good news that DH wasn't sick.

Trudy- Bet you appreciated the sunshine even if it was windy. It was good to not have rain for your day of errands. How did the Bruins play?
Enjoy your day with the ILs.
I will def. share your insta link with her. I am sure that she would love your work as well.

Felis- you are so cute, how much you love the Oscars! I hope that you have a great time watching in your PJs and eating popcorn!

 to all

Today started sunny but has clouded up but also gotten above freezing. The snow looks nice and led to some nice birds yesterday. Our crabapple still had fruit and a flock of robins found it yesterday. They were coming and going in numbers, left a bit and then returned (or another group) with a few starlings mixed in. We think there were at least 30 of them. It was so fun to watch. We also saw both a male and female Hairy Woodpecker, the Red-bellied Woodpecker that hangs around again having to check out what they were doing. Later we drove around Lake View a little and came across another fruit tree where robins were flocking. I got some fun photos there that I hope to use for a LO. Then I went to the art supply store for this weekend's 20% off sale and got a few things. A very fun Saturday! Today we will watch a little TV then tonight I'll make dinner and we'll watch the Oscars. We haven't seen any of the films and found the Golden Globes kind of boring, so we'll see.

And I did post the latest drawings to my blog. But, oh my, the Insta links for both Trudy and Leah are so fabulous!

Chris, glad you had a good sleep. Interesting that clean sheets help with that. Funny that you blame W for missing puzzle pieces. We are doing a hard one and wish we could blame someone for missing pieces. Bet Scott is having a good time with the girl scouts and ice cream. Hope you have a nice time with the aged P's.

Felis, your day and Oscars night sound like a good time. Hope you get a good nap in though.

Trudy, loving your work on Instagram! Hope you get it worked out nicely soon. Guess you'll be busy as usual today plus G's belated birthday lunch.

Nancy, Hope the Devils came through with another win. You are doing so well with the swimming and walking the dog. Sorry your DH is suffering from allergies, but at least he isn't sick.

Rae, loving picturing you out with the jays. Stellar's Jays? They are much the same as Blue Jays but somehow look even classier.

Kay, hope you had another good sleep and found something to read. Don't know why I too seem to start a lot of books that don't do much for me. Some I never bother finishing. Other books I can hardly put down.

Sharon, so sad about the trip. That was to visit your daughter? Still the old ones need looking after so much.

Hope your weekend is finishing well.

good very late day - busy but productive - a good long walk with Luther and my DH. It was chilly but the wind has died down and it was partly sunny. Sun felt so good! Came home to lunch and then my oldest DH called and we went to get him a phone upgrade. He is so happy. All restored to his phone and just waiting for the apps to down load. It took a while to get that done but he no longer has to look through broken glass. So I am a happy for him. Only bad part was my DH still like he sounds he has croup and now my youngest has a bad cold. Never fun to have a house filled with sick people. I am watching Grace and Frankie. It is so good because it is written about older women. They make no excuses for the fact these women are in their 70s and have life threatening problems while still living. I am going to be sad when I finish bingeing. I am not sure though that those not of my age group would think it is as funny and interesting. Best news was my Devils shut out the LA Kings 3-0. This was two shut outs in a row for my rookie goalie Mackenzie Blackwood. Pretty cool. And they scored goals. So was fun. My youngest went with me this time and I think he had a good time.

Chris hope the lunch with parents went well. I am sure it did. I love that Scott is making ice cream with girl scouts. Good for them. Those rats sound so cute fighting over sweet potato. Went to the Insta account and l am impressed with the talent!

Kay hope you slept well again. My son gave me a new series of books to start. They are not your type. They are ones he reads so it gives us something to talk about. So good luck with find one that is a page turner.

Trudy you are always so busy. Have fun with the parents too! This is pretty cool that your grandkids have great grand parents. Very impressed with how the Bruins are going but man they really have to cool it on the penalties though. Saw the kid was suspended too. It is always better when your team wins. Glad the painting is coming along so well.

Rae loved the photos. Most seed eating birds really do love sunflower seeds. I always bought seeds that had already be shelled so there would be less mess. Looks like a fun party!

Jean wow good birds. Seems early for robins but guess there is food to be found. Do you think there will be baby woodpeckers this spring?

Felis have a great time at the Oscar sleep over party! I have not seen a single movie up for the awards. I need to get out more LOL.

Have a great day all!

Been busy getting the house clean - setting up the dining room table and other things for the Red Hat PotLuck lunch on Tuesday... Now I am really concerned about whether it will happen or not. They just announced a "Winter Storm Warning" for our area from Monday until Wednesday... with the most of the snow/storm happening Tuesday before dawn until late Tuesday night. Anywhere from 3" - 8" of snow during that time. I had planned on make a peach cobbler as my dish... going to go ahead and make it tomorrow. If the gals don't make it for the lunch, I can divide it up into serving sizes and freeze it. Already know that 3 of the gals are bringing main dishes. I will wait until Tuesday morning to make the ice tea... no point making it if the lunch gets cancelled due to weather.

Was looking through my bag of books from last month and found - a new to me - Robyn Carr book "Any Day Now". At least that one held my attention to the point I was half way through it before I fell asleep last night.

DD#3 called this afternoon to get the measurements for ingredients for Enchiladas sauce. I was LOL as I told her I don't really measure things for it... it depends on how much I make. Gave her estimates based on how much she was making plus tips on how to brown spices with meat then browning the flour with it before adding the water. We were both LOL by the time I finished.... She has watched me make it but she said she never got the full flavor right. She also told me that her cell phone died before she got the photos from my 80th birthday over into the computer - so they are gone. I am hoping that some of the others have some photos that I saw while we were there but I didn't get.

Guess the front is coming in... temp has dropped 10 degrees in the last hour. Time to get my warm fuzzy PJs on as I am cold. CYL
