Which one shall I embrace today with the flip of the calendar?
I think I am going with
It is December and I really and truly love the holiday season. Yeah, it is stressful and crazy but it is also a lot of fun too. And that party here is starting with some great challenges and the Collab kit downloads and everyone's avatars are festive. Did I mention Balsam scented candles and sparkly lights and A Christmas Story on TV and OMG! Cookies!! And SANTA!!!!!!
So much good stuff happening.

Yesterday was pretty darn successful if you ask me, Nah, I didn't get all that much done, but I think that the lotion recipe is a keeper. My only issue, and it is a small one, is that the scent I used didn't really come through. I wanted something light and unisex so I picked a Philosophy dupe. Light and clean but barely noticeable. But I guess that was what I was going for. My nose tends to get a bit out of whack this time of year, it gets overloaded so maybe today it will be a novel scent again and I can smell it better.
I also finished another LO for the album and should be finished with that this weekend. Caitlyn and I ran over to TJ MAXX when she got home from school and I found a couple of dog toys for them from Santa. Those dogs somehow know when I bring something home for them, I had to stuff the bag into my underwear drawer so fast or they were going to try to grab it from me LOL
Today I have to make the bath bombs. Then I can start winding down with the big projects done and then do some small things here and there and should be (*fingers crossed*) good to go for Sunday.

I also think that I have good news about my health insurance. I called the State Agency and went through the automated system to see what the status of my application is. It said that the letter of eligibility was sent on the 29th and that Scott, Cait and I are eligible at a future date. Not sure that the future date part is but it has to be good news, right?

I downloaded the template for the Day One Challenge and I might try to use that for one of the last pages for the Alaska album.
I better get going, I have a busy day ahead.

Hugs!!!

Morning, gals... up early again today. 4AM is too early to be awake but no getting back to sleep so am up and doing a few things that need to be done since it is Dec 1st. Looking forward to the fun 12 days of Christmas challenges and game... loving all the festive avatars that have popped up in the forum!!! Puts me in a festive mood. I got the template from Day 1 - need to get it done soon.

Hey, Chris... so glad to hear that things seem to moving on the health insurance. You sure are one productive gal... can't believe all that you have finished with your lotions, etc. My nose would be worn out, too... if I was surrounded by all those wonderful fragrances all day.

And here I go again-I struggle every time that the O has an avatar challenge, I have no idea who is who. ;)

Kay- I was awake this morning at 5 am, but was thankfully able to stay in bed until 6. I said to Gary that I am in a good mood with December (he about fainted on the spot) but that I must have been grinding my teeth in my sleep b/c I woke up with a headache. Hope that you slept well again.
What did I tell you about not pushing yourself? Don't run on fumes, only I am allowed to do that here. heh!
I used to read so much more than I do now but it is something I love to do when I am immersed in a good book.

Nancy- I understand exactly what you mean with Luther having all of that energy - W and J are maniacs running around the stairs every afternoon. I feel bad- I haven't taken W on a walk in weeks. Bet Luther had a blast at daycare.
How in the world to you break an ankle and still play on it? Ouch! Have a great time at the game today.

Trudy- Were you able to see some sun and sky yesterday? We ended up with some crazy snow showers mid-afternoon but thankfully nothing stuck.
Not you too!!! What is going on with our appliances? The washing machine drained for the first load I did yesterday and it better have done the same with the load I ran last night.
gentle kisses to Hunter. Poor little guy, he must have been terrified! Heather must have been too. It always makes me wonder how toddlers make it out to the other side in relatively one piece. SMH!
Do you think maybe some character band-aids will be easier to keep on his finger? Mickey Mouse or Princess band-aids were the "special" ones in my house and made it a bit easier to leave alone. Poor guy!

Rae- I hope that you are *much* better today and can get to visit with B tomorrow.
The instant pot is fascinating! Bet it saves so much time.
Sorry that you and your computer got sucked into the appliance/electronics weirdness too.

Felis! Even if you only come around for events, it is much better than not being here at all. I hope that you are in a holiday mood too! Are you surprised that I am?
I love to read for the same reasons as you - a big reason that I am rereading the Harry Potter series *again* every time I do, I make a new connection or pick up on a little something that I missed previously. Have you seen the new Fantastic Beasts movie? It looks great.

Jean- So happy to see you again and what a nice day you had out and about with your DH. The garden center sounds like a perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.
yes, I finally did get the pics from MIL and have been placing them into the PSD files and are ready to convert/upload soon. I have to pat myself on the back- it was really smart of me to scarp the low res ones. Every once in a while I get a good idea LOL

I'm off shortly to the annual genealogical committee meeting and holiday pot luck. I'm taking a spicy orzo and black bean salad. Hope nobody eats it so we can have it with dinner tonight while watching Ohio State football. Meanwhile DH is dropping me off this morning and heading to a church where a holiday craft festival has music and Hum & Strum is playing there again this year.

Chris, so nice to see you in the holiday spirit and getting so much done.

Kay, hope you survive waking so early.

Have a great one everybody!

Morning ladies... Ugh I am awake far to early too! Woke up at 4am and tossed and turned until 5am. I have been paying bills and going through some photos. Attempting to get the first day of 12 days of Christmas challenge started and not having much luck so far. We are heading out to Costco today so will most likely fall asleep while DH drives us there LOL. Had a nice evening last night of watching a few episodes of Narcos Mexico on Netflix, but by the fourth one we were both falling asleep LOL. Anyway it will be fun to start this last month of the year with the 12 Days Event! The gallery is gushing with tons of new AVI's and other beautiful layouts!

Chris - So nice to hear you so happy! Fabulous that you at least heard some positive news from the Ins. A very productive day for you yesterday! I can't imagine how wonderful your house must smell! Glad that you will be done with the In-Law's project this weekend too! WTG!! Yes Heather has been putting some cute bandaids on poor Hunter's booboo, but he still keeps taking those off. He had to revisit the dr. yesterday so I am anxious to hear how he made out. Guess the dr. just wanted to make sure it wasn't getting infected.

Kay - We really should start a up before dawn club LOL. Sorry that you can not sleep either  I bet you are busy putting together more pages for the challenges, you are a busy scrapper!

Jean - Enjoy your pot luck and hope you get to take home some leftovers of your yummy salad! Hope your hubby has a fun time at the Hum & Strum today! BTW I think your new AVI is so beautiful!!

:hello: to others who pop in here today! Especially to you Felis!! How nice to see you here again! I am in need of more coffee so will pop in here later to see what is going on with everyone else. Have a great morning everyone!

good morning - my poor Devils they lost to the Capitals 6-3. But that was not the worst part Tom Wilson (a dirty player) hit my player from behind when he did not have the puck on a play where he could have completely avoided the hit. He was given a 5 min major penalty and match penalty. He has been playing so well and making his team better. Brett Seney is no threat to anyone at that time and place. Wilson continues to try and hurt players. It is sad. Tonight my teams plays the Winnipeg Jets and another tough game. It is home and so will be fun to see the Jets. I will hobble my way to the game. Zach friends and their kids are going so that will be fun too! Luther came home tired so that is good for him. Now he and my DH are out walking. Also the news from Anchorage and the photos - to think I was just there. WOW. I am sure I was on those roads and I know I was at the airport. I hope they get everything fixed for my trip this coming summer. Today will be cold. Love the new avatars.

Chris glad you woke up in a good mood. Yes this time of the year is stressful but it is also fun! I am sure your Gary was surprised. Congrats on getting so much accomplished. And congrats on the their being movement on the insurance front! that is a real accomplishments!

Kay, Trudy, Jean you are all up early. I remember when I was a much earlier riser but now I go to bed after West Coast hockey games so no way I am getting up at 4am. LOL.

Kay glad you are getting stuff accomplished!

Trudy yes you should start an early morning club LOL. Have fun at Costco. Catch up on your sleep!

Jean hi. Have a great time at your pot luck. Sounds yummy! Go Ohio State but I will usually dislike them as my DH is a Wisconsin graduate. Your DH and his group seem to have such fun! I think that is awesome. How much does his practice at home. Love the bird avatar.

Felis so glad you are back for a while! Cant wait for your posts!

Rae so glad you are feeling better and I hope you are well enough for a visit!

Have a great day.

hello ladies, sorry I dropped of the OScraps planet back in October - life got crazy. Things are a little calmer right now, but with December arriving things could get hectic again soon. I'm hoping life will allow me to take part in 12 days of Christmas.

For those of you wanting to see those paintings I did back at the end of September, I used photos of them for today's challenge layout.
https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/data/1747/medium/1809Painting_Medium_.jpg

Chris, I love Citrus and nutmeg scented candles.

Enjoy your meeting and pot luck meal Jean. Spicy orzo and black bean salad sounds interesting, I'm wondering what goes in it.

Trudy, I hope your shopping trip is successful.

I need to log off again, I'm supposed to be supervising my girls with their sewing projects - they are making Christmas gifts for school teachers and close friends etc.

Good morning my dears,
we have snow from few days , but now it's melting and it's mostly muddy. Also is very cold outside :eyebrows:. So I'm decided to spend my weekend at home, scraping, watching movies and listen christmas songs. Oh also spending much time in Instagram, after I stop scrap I became addicted to it. I transferred all the tasks to the others of my family and will have and lazy afternoon, because the week will be busy, so I needs to load my battery. :cofscreen:

Chris, nope, I'm not surprised you are in festive mood (but this makes me so happy) even the mad persons as us have to put on pause their sorrow when the lights start shine. No, I'm not watched the second Fantastic Beasts movie yet, but can't wait! I watched the first maybe in August?! I really wish to was able to go to cinema more often! It's so annoying to can't drive, I can convince others to come with me only if it's some holiday. Oh by the way, mixing all these ingredients for your products sounds kind of magical and so faery related.

Kay, ouch, not fun to be up so early if you aren't plan it, but this is my favorite time to scrap. When I'm awaken by my dog I prefer to start my daily task and to get nap at afternoon instead of roll into the bed waiting the sunrise.

Jean, as long as I remember you didn't answer me before so I'll have to ask again: did H&S group have Christmas playlist or some special Holiday program?! Get fun on the genealogical meeting!

Trudy, I want in the before dawn club, too :high5:! By the way I always sleep at cars, moving is so calming, and except that will be annoying for Gary, your Costco road plan sounds good to me.

Nancy, your tonight's hockey plans sounds awesome! Do these kids of friends have also fun or distract your group?! Where will be your next summer trip (I'm missed this)?!

Angela, those paintings are very cute.

Good morning and a happy Sunday to all of you. I hope that some of the people here for the party that read this take a minute to say hi. I would love to get to know everyone better! Not to mention, it makes me feel like I am not blabbering on and on to myself some days :blah:

I am in another good mood this morning. This is crazy- two days in a row! Ha!! My mood slipped a bit yesterday around noon but I pulled it out. The morning wasn't going so well and I kept tripping over things, dropping things and getting interrupted. That started me grumbling and getting aggravated with myself. Told myself to suck it up and I did. Shocking. I made two small batches of bath bombs, a lavender essential oil one, and a ginger essential oil with a touch of vanilla fragrance. They molded perfectly. Today I need to wrap them and that is the big test so please keep your fingers crossed for me that they don't crumble.

I think that I am done with the major mixing/creating the products. Today I am going to set it all up on my table as the dry run for the Open House next week. That way I can see what I have, what I need, what needs to be beribboned etc.

I have an appt at 1 pm today for W and J - not with the vet but at the local feed store to get their pictures taken a sleigh. The store did this last year and Cait was bummed that we didn't go. So I called to make the appt for this year. I have no idea how they will do with it but *shrugs* it is $5 for a digital photo and it is the experience of it.

I haven't had a chance to scrap so that's something I also would like to do today. I want to cross things off of my list darn it! Some days, I feel like I should put things on my list like "breathe" or "blink" just so I can cross something off.

I hope that all of you have very happy and productive days!

Geeze... awake at 4AM again! Ever since daylight savings time change, I have been waking up way too early. Woke up to about 1" of snow. First measurable snow we have had here in town... the mountain right outside of town has had snow several times. It is still lightly snowing. Love the hush in the air when the snow is softly falling. Snapped a few photos of the bushes/trees in my yard. As the sun is not up yet, mostly all that can be seen are the close up bushes and some snowflakes falling. Will try to remember to get more photos once it is light outside. At least the wind is not howling like it was last night... up over 50 MPH at times. Glad I don't have to be driving anywhere.

I finished 2 of the books in the Karen Robarts 'The Last...' series and 2/3 the way through #3. Should finish it and #4 by tomorrow. Then will start on the library books. So glad we have 3 weeks before they are due. Just saw the FB notice by Kay Hooper that her last Bishop's book will be a softback release on 12/30... already made a note on my white-board to pick it up then. I have her whole collection. I am running out of room in my 7 bookcases [in the house] so may need to move some of my less favorite authors books out onto the shelves in the garage. I also have a couple of bags of books to donate to the hospital. It was so nice that they have books there for patients/family to read during their stay.

Tomorrow will be a busy day... have to go to the Social Security Office as they are going to raise my Medicare premium based on last year's gross income. We had sold a rental house which was a 1 time event that raised our gross. So have to take in paperwork to prove that plus other paperwork about income changes. The office is 25 north of here and then go to the base [25 miles south of here] to pick up meds. Will easily put over 100 miles on the car getting just those 2 errands done.

Kay- I was awake at 4 am this morning too, but was able to stay in bed until 5. How did you do last night? I hate when the aches and pains wake me up, bet you do too. The 12 Days party is going to be so much fun. They always are.
Thanks for thinking that I am productive- I really am not, I waste so much time wandering around the house muttering to myself. This is why I will always have dogs, someone to talk to so people don't think I am :loco:

Jean!!! You are so bad! haha!!!! Did you get to bring the orzo salad home? I hope that you did. Did your DH come home in a Christmas-y mood?

Trudy- everyone seems to have gotten bitten by the insomnia bug. 4 am is way too early to be awake! The gallery looks very festive and same with everyone's avatars.
You might have been too early in congratulating me on finishing ILs album... :(
How is Hunter's finger? *kisses the boo-boo better from NJ*

Nancy- how maddening it must have been to see your player get hit from behind like that. Your knee must be really painful with the weather too. At least it isn't freezing with all of the rain today.

Hi again, Angela! Your paintings are very sweet and uplifting, great job! I hope that you get some time to play along in the 12 Days party. Have fun with your girls' sewing project.

felis- aww your avi is purr-fect for you! Good for you to be enjoying some lazy time this weekend. I was listening to Christmas music the other day while I was scrapping, I never do that so I think it helped. When I actually ran it as a small business, my brand name was registered as Faery Wings Apothecary. I miss those days. Now it is just a hobby that I do for the holidays. I also used to make wire-framed faery wings for girls to wear. Man, I used to be so creative, maybe someday I will be able to get back into all of that again.

I have to get going and start my busy day! xoxoxo!!!

good morning - it is raining and I don't like that. My Devils against the Jets was strange. The Devils took a 1-0 lead in the first and the Jets tied it in the 2nd. The in the last 5 min of the game it was crazy. The Jets went ahead 3-1 in the 3 but then Jesper Bratt scored and then with the goalie pulled Taylor Hall tied the game. But alas they lost in OT. Keith Kinkaid was awesome. He started back to back games and did great. They must really have no confidence in Cory. That is sad. But to make me happy I have an autography signing with Kyle Palmieri. I will be going with my favorite family. They kids seemed to have had such a good time. They left early as the little girl is only 3 and she gets tired early. Their seats are not by us so no they are not a distraction. Then tomorrow night the Devils play again. But then I have a long break as they head out to California for 3 games. I started my Dec 2018 project. I have decided to do a review of the year and maybe I will sprinkle in some Christmas themed pages depending on how I am feeling LOL.

Chris congrats on getting those bath bombs done. Good luck wrapping. Have fun with pictures of the dogs. Hope it is not raining!

Gosh everyone is up so early. Kay I totally agree that snow falling dampens all noise. Good luck at SS. I remember driving that many miles when living in AZ. Bet the photos will be beautiful.

Trudy yes how is Hunter and his finger doing. The O looks so festive! Saw the fight in the Boston game. Too funny to see the goalies wanting to fight too! I watched the next episode of Outlander. OMgosh so good!

Angela hope things stay calm! Glad the kids are having fun making gifts! I will be checking on the photos!

Felis I hate it when the snow melts into mud. Enjoy the time inside this weekend. Glad you are back scrapping for awhile.

Have a great day all!

hi all - hope u are all having great weekend. you are all such early risers unlike me

havent been able to do any scrapping past 2 days as mouse finger is really hurting and so far behind. really want to start doing the 12 challenges here

leaving shortly to check out a 1 year old yellow lab mix ( does not look at all like cooper) in foster care. She sounds really good EXCePT that she barks like crazy when in a crate. dont think it is separation anxiety but will have to find out more. being in an apt a non stop barker in a crate is NOT good.

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday flew by as I knew it would. I am feeling somewhat better but still tired, achy and coughing a bit so spent the morning in my jammies, resting in my chair, watching tv and reading. Then in the afternoon I got out for a walk with Taz and then did a bit of Xmas shopping and got groceries. By the time I got to the grocery store I was so tired and foggy I couldn't remember what I needed to get so of course today I remembered and need to go back.

I'll be heading to Staples this afternoon to pick up the puzzles we had made. Can't wait to see them.

Chris - your FW daily posts look amazing! You are so talented. Maybe the lotion recipe is a good one b/c you can market that as a clean, crisp scent for those sensitive to perfume/strong scents. Personally, I'd love the coffee scent myself :) But many like little or no scent so now you have one for those people. Glad to hear the insurance is moving ahead (albeit slowly). Have fun getting the dog pics on the sleigh.

Kay - up early again? I was awake at 5:30...hmmmm....guess that is an improvement LOL. Sounds like a busy day tomorrow, hope it all goes smoothly.

Jean - how was the potluck?

I'm going to go check out the holiday threads and then get going on my day. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Trudy - how was Costco? Bet it was super crowded. I need to go but an going to try for dinner time during the week.

Nancy - I didn't know that Alaska got so many earthquakes and this was a bad one with so many aftershocks. Those poor people. You are going back to Alaska this summer? Wow, you are able to travel so much, so many adventures.

Angela - saw your paintings, so happy and cheerful! Have fun sewing with your girls.

Felis - so good to hear from you. I too can't wait to see the new F-B movie. I loved the first one (saw it with Bailey, she read the books).

Yesterday was very nice. The potluck had lots of goodies and I had enough salad to bring home (and augment a little) to be part of our dinner. (I scrapped it with the template challenge: https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=403918&title=holiday-gathering&cat=1747). DH had a nice time playing for the craft festival, but this year they were in the main room which doesn't have good acoustics. Today is Sunday football but the sun is shining brightly in a blue sky, so outside looks beautiful and it is relatively warm (but snow to return soon).

Felis, great you get to recharge with a relaxing weekend. Love the LOs you've done. The H&S group picks a group of songs to practice and the Christmas ones this year are the same as last year's. I'll get to hear them Thursday when they play for the senior center monthly potluck. They are meant for the audience to sing along, so are familiar favorites like Frosty the Snowman.

Chris, woo-hoo for success with the bath bombs. I remember some that made you crazy with crumbling. Congrats on keeping it together yesterday. I'm thinking the photos of J & W with the sleigh will be precious.

Kay, you really need an up too early group with that continued happening. Hope the snow looked lovely when the sun came up.

Angela, bet the kids are adorable in the play. Makes being late worthwhile.

Nancy, bummer the Devils can't seem to win. But at least it's hockey and you get to watch and have a good time. The Alaska earthquakes sure look scary and remind me of the 1964 photos of the big one in Anchorage then. All will surely be well before your trip.

Zanthia, good luck with the dog, but it sure sounds iffy unless the barking is temporary.

Rae, bet the puzzles are super! Sounds like you are slowly getting well, but not quick enough I'm sure.

Hope everyone is enjoying the 12 Days here!

Hi ladies... sorry no time to do personals today :mmph: very busy sunday for us. Bottled wine then FIL popped in for a bit. Then off to SIL's to help her get some things out of her crawl space that are too heavy for her to move. DH fixed up her wall mount so that none of the wires were showing and then home to get supper. Lunch made for DH tomorrow and now it will soon be bedtime. Have to watch Outlander first though. Will catch up with everyone tomorrow!
