You know how I said yesterday that I was off the hook with the rats in 6-8 hours? Well dammit, I spoke too soon thinking that it was going to be smooth sailing. Honestly, I should have known better with those two. They didn't escape, that would have been a real feat. But this was pretty intense too. I went up to check their water and food, give them some snuggles. The big girls were wonderful and happy to see me, Evie was her usual skittish self but let me grab her and check her incision for a split second but that was all I needed. Imogene, OTOH... she had started to chew at her stitches. I scooped her up and blotted off the area and there were small dots of blood. The wound wasn't open but was raw around it. I put her back into the cage to text Caitlyn and the next thing I see is her grab the area with her teeth and pull. Argh!! Gary and I tried to wrap her with gauze/bandage but she wouldn't let us. Caitlyn said that unless it was bleeding to let her go and she would wrap her when she got home. Each time I checked in, all four of them were sleeping so there was nothing else I could do anyway. Immi is so neurotic that she pulls her fur out when she is stressed. Here I was, worried about the big girls dying while Cait was away because they are so old. But no, they were angels and the littles ones gave me agita nonstop.
The kids had a great time, said it was a lot of fun, everyone got along, and no drama. Scott has work today and is exhausted but is looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. My mom and I got everything settled with the trip insurance and we popped into a local shop to look for a bathing suit for her. We found one that would have been so darn cute on her but it was too tight. She never buys anything for herself and really needed to be talked into trying it on. Then she was so disappointed when it was too small, I felt bad. It was the only one there too.
I think I am going to the FP this morning. Cait said that maybe she will come with me, but I am not counting on it. I am sure she will rather sleep in. Nothing else is going on today, I should try to catch up on my work here.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
