Good morning ladies. We're at our trailer this wkend and am loving the quiet morning here. My hubs is at the table, working on his crossword puzzle (he does them everyday) and I'm on the couch on my laptop with Taz asleep on my lap, with an HGTV home reno show on in the background. Later we'll grab a take-out coffee and take Taz out for a run around the field across the street. This afternoon I want to finish my book as I'm dying to find out how it ends (Redemption Road by John Hart) I will get a bit of scrapping done too later. Should be a quiet day here.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Quiet afternoon so far, but thunderstorms on the way apparently. Also still hot! Spent early evening at the library for cooling yesterday, but they close at 5:30 on Saturday. Have to do some grocery shopping and I guess watch more Olympics, but I'm a little vague about it all.

Rae, sounds like a lovely day for all of you and Taz must be doing well.

Hope everyone is having a fun day.

Hey everyone... I am trying to adjust to empty nest living again and my hubby is keeping me very busy trying to get the house back to normal. It is a scorching warm day here and the humidity is high which is so unusual for us! We really should be at the beach, but perhaps tomorrow. Sounds like it will be very warm all week.

Rae - You are having what I consider a perfect day!! Enjoy your time away!

Jean - What a great place to go and cool off for a while! Surrounded by all of those wonderful books and peace and quiet! Hope the the Thunder Storms are not too ferocious and that they bring some relief from the heat!

Ok I better get moving and get some lunch made, then its off to the store for some groceries and a bit of running around to do so hubby can get ready to start painting the outside of the house. Have a great day everyone!!

Wow am I late - I have walking wounded at home. Yesterday morning my DH went out to walk Luther slipped on the wet lawn and fell on side and head. He was moving slowly and Luther did not get his walk. My DH still went to work and then in the evening he was walking slowly. This morning he woke and is still moving very very slowly. In fact he is worried about driving as he hurts so much even his neck when he turns. He is sure it is just pulled muscles but as we are older it does take longer to heal. Feel really bad for him. Then yesterday I noticed that Luther is scratching even more than usual and he has rubbed a spot on his abdomen raw so made an appointment to take him this morning with my son. Well it is some sort of bacterial infection and the doctor feels he might have some allergy of some sort. So he is on antibiotics, new shampoo twice a week ( should be interesting LOL), Omega3 fish oil and probiotics to help with antibiotics. Whew but as my son is working he agreed to pay for this. So proud of him. Of course he is also on non allergenic food and treats. And worst he has to wear the cone. Poor baby he is so unhappy and so clumsy. We can take the cone off when he is visible and we can make sure he does not lick or for his walk. Good thing we love this dog! Made it home to watch the Yankees and they brought up their youngsters and both of them hit home runs on their first at bats in Yankee Stadium. The first time in MLB history that rookie teammates have done this. You never know what can happen. Still watching Olympics and the US team is doing really well with the exception of the women's soccer team which was eliminated. Lastly is the heat - and it is so hot and humid. When I went out to walk Luther I thought I was walking in water. He did not even want to walk very far. Me either. Maybe thunderstorms tonight.

Rae your weekend sound so relaxing. How sweet with Taz in your lap.

Jean the heat here really is bad. Hope you are enjoying the Olympics.

Trudy glad to have you back but sorry you house in empty. I bet your MG is keeping you and himself busy to keep from missing them too much.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Enjoying a quiet hour or so until we hit the highway and head back home from the trailer. We had nachos baked on the grill for dinner last night..yum! Then watched the last 3 episodes of Homeland. Can't wait for the new season in 2017. I was reading the news this morning and saw the article about the little girl who is in critical condition after a bear attack this wkend along the path that we walk, across the street from us. Apparently she got between the mother and her cub and the mother attacked and dragged her off. I am heartbroken for the family and scared b/c it is our neighborhood, where I take Taz all the time. They had to put down the mother as she wouldn't back off after they tried to approach her but the cub got away so they've asked us not to walk the trails until they find it and try to relocate it.

I'm going to do some meal planning today. We tend to eat more and snack more while at the trailer and need to balance that out when at home during the weekdays. I am going to get lots of veggies at the market today and will rice up some cauliflower for faux-rice during the week and am going to look for a mini cauliflower pizza recipe that may be on my pinterest board.

It's time for a second cup of coffee, so off I go. Have a good day, everyone.

Morning ladies... busy day again for me and my MG!! He is painting and I have a ton of :washing: and all the windows need to be cleaned, that will be hard as the sweet little hand prints on the windows just remind me that my grands are not here anymore  So I will get busy and keep busy all day!

Nancy - I hope all of your walking wounded are doing better today and I hope that the humidity is not so bad for you. I hate the humid weather that the east seems to get and I am hoping that DD and her family are not suffering from it either!! I am really hoping that MG will decide that it is a beach afternoon I would love a dip in the lake!

Rae - Yes that Bear attack was so tragic!! I hope the little girl will be ok, but I am sad for the bears too, they are just doing what bears do and we have taken away all of their living space. I hope that the cub can be found and relocated, thankfully we do not have any bears in our area, but where my brother lives they walk right across his back lawn and are spotted in town quite often. I would be so afraid to go for a walk there!! Hope your last few hours at the trailer are pleasant ! Try to keep cool its going to be another scorcher today!

Ok time to get busy and then hopefully I can get some more time here this evening!
