Good morning and happy weekend to you all! I was just outside with my puppies and it is quite chilly. But the sun is out for now so I might try to uncover another small section of the garden later on. My lavender plant is almost entirely under dead leaves and I don't want that to die at all. I love that plant, it smells so good. Almost as good as my rosemary plant that I need to get back outside too. I brought it inside for the winter and it survived. Most years, I bring in my rosemary and it never quite makes it so I end up buying a new one every year.

Yesterday was a pretty mellow day. Jaida did "fine" at the vet. Gary came with me and was able to hold her on the table for her shots/blood draw. she only jumped off of the table twice, even being held down. She is getting chunky- she gained 5 lbs and is now 70 lbs. Not good at all since she has such bad knees. Gary tends to spoil her - all of the dogs honestly!- with people food. Pizza crust is their favorite. :pizza: He is going to have to stop that or cut down drastically.
When Caitlyn got home, we went to play with her rats for a long time. They were running all over her bed and under her blanket and up our sleeves. I gave each of them some more asparagus bits and they loved that, or I should say, loved stealing it from each other. Silly babies!

I also finished another scrap page for a May Challenge so maybe my mojo is sort of back for now?

Nothing planned at all for today other than some yard work. Maybe start some of the seeds too.
Who has fun things planned? Can't wait to hear about it!

Kay- did you get to sleep in a bit more this morning? The Mini-Os are gorgeous, I wish I could snap all of them up! Hoping that each day you get a bit more energy back although lazing on the computer and scrapping doesn't sound so bad ;)
It feels like it has been one thing after another non-stop since Gary got sick in 2005... but it is all good, we manage to get through it somehow.

Trudy- shame on you, no time for personals! :pound: How nice to get to Facetime with Heather and Hunter, that must be the best way to start your day. Good luck getting everything ready with the paintings.

Felis- enjoy your celebrations! Good for you for wanting to finish/combine your 52 Projects. Don't be too mad at me, I have done much worse to myself than be on my feet for too long haha!!! The symptoms could be more stress related than anything so I will be keeping an eye on that too.

xoxoxo to all of you!

good morning - it is chilly and really windy. Luckily the rain storms that were to come did not materialize overnight. My doctor's appt. was great as my blood pressure has really come down. Then went grocery shopping and then to pick up new prescriptions and left there just in time for the mid day rain storm. Came home and made it indoors before the afternoon thunderstorm. Luckily Luther was a doggie day care so he was happy with his friends. Watched hockey at night and did some scrapping so that is fun. Today is rehab swimming and then walk dog and then more hockey.

Chris glad that J did so well at the vet! Hope your time in the garden is good. My lilac is in full bloom and smells so good. Glad you mojo is coming back.

Kay the mini O are gorgeous. Have fun scrapping with them.

Felis enjoy the holidays. I think it is great that you are going to combine the two years of 52 inspirations.

Trudy how fun to be so busy talking to Heather. The Bruins played so well. I am cheering for Marcus Johansson who was my Devil. Now that he is well he is showing how good he really is!

Have a great day all!

Hello- another beautiful day in south Louisiana. We have a crawfish boil today. Looking forward to it. This week we went to Milwaukee, Wisconson for a few days on business. It was so much fun and gorgeous weather. But I left my $160 prescription readers on one of the flights and I can't read well at all. i have readers, but with such an astigmatism, they don't help much. Very frustrating. My insurance won't pay for anything till June. GRR

Chris-it is so hard not to spoil the dogs with food!

nancy- great on the blood pressure.

Morning all. Still waking up early... but think partly it is because I am falling asleep at 9. Got 8 1/2 hours of sleep so guess that is okay. We had 3 more rain showers yesterday so glad I had planned on staying home after a quick run to the stores for fresh veggies and fruit. Looks like our city is going to do away with plastic bags soon... so I am glad I already have some nice tote bags. I am looking at getting some mesh bags for fruits/veggies. Glad the base commissary [grocery store] has paper bags already as I usually need 10 or more bags when I go [usually only every 6 weeks or so].

Can't believe that May is right around the corner. iNSD will be here before we know it. Thinking it is time to take the heavyweight comforter off the bed. Been waking up out from underneath the covers the past couple of days.

I'm back now... DD#2 called and we talked for an hour. I got caught up on what was going on with her and her hubby. Right before we hung ut, she said that it was starting to snow there. The might get 6" tonight! She lives north of Chicago. Now I really have to post this. CYL

Morning ladies... we are all having the same kind of weather today, how strange!! It is cold and windy here today also. The sun is shining but ohhhh its chilly!! We had a nice evening last night as DH BBQ'd burgers :hungry: my fav meal LOL It doesn't take too much to make me happy :becky: Horrible flooding in Ottawa this morning and waiting to hear from our son to find out if his new home is in the flood area, wish he would answer me soon :fear: I managed to get almost all of the work done for my paintings, but now need to go and find some more D rings and wire at the Hardware Store. Just a couple more signs to finish off, but that won't take long to do. I also got 4 new paintings done and will put those in the coffee shop. I am not sure just how many I will be able to display so better to have too many than not enough right?

Chris - Yikes your little rescue puppy has turned into a chunky monkey LOL! Shame on your Gary for feeding them people food :nono: (I would do the same probably LOL) Nice to hear that you are able to get outside in your garden, sure hope it warms up enough today so that you can continue your reveal of your plants! I have to clean up the mess that my Camellia plant has made it is beautiful but sure leaves a mess on the ground! Hope you are having more fun with the rats and Cait today, they must be so fun to watch!

Nancy - Looking forward to the game tonight! However it doesn't sound like Krejci will play the game :mmph: We are loving your Devil's player Marcus Johansson too!! We love John Moore too!! Thank you Devils  That is great news about your blood pressure coming down!! WTG!! I really need to check out your newest pages! I love your vacation layouts the photos are always so good!

Felis - Hope that you enjoyed your celebrations and thanks for the lovely comments over my showing of the paintings!

Sharon - I did the same thing on a flight to Ontario and left my brand new glasses on the flight, never saw them again and they had such a beautiful frame  I feel your pain!! Hope you can find something that will work for you until your insurance will cover new ones for you!

Today is grocery shopping and a trip to the Nursery to find a new peone for the backyard, hope to get a lovely deep red one!! I need to feed my Azalea and Rhodos too. Then finish off my prep for my paintings. Hope the temps warm up a bit tomorrow, that wind is really cold! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I think we must have the same weather as it is chilly and windy here but with bright sun. It has been quite a week with big highs and lows. The low is that my youngest nephew (only 56) died last Friday. There was a memorial and dinner celebrating his life Wed. evening. And I was able to go even though I had my upper endoscopy that morning and the instructions say to rest at home that day. But I was OK, in fact extremely relieved as the results were the best possible showing the cause of my pancreatitis was a passed gall stone, but found no more of them and nothing else wrong with the pancreas, so took no tissue samples. Also day before saw my primary care and all numbers, including blood pressure now down to normal. The test though didn't start that well as it was scheduled for 9:00 am but I wasn't wheeled into the procedure room until 11:52! It was a long chilly wait! Doc said they were waiting for the right scope for me. Whatever. Thursday in my art class I "finished" two more drawings that are on my blog. Tonight we'll stay home for dinner and watch another movie (or maybe the Bruins game?)

Chris, hope you get a little time in the yard but not too much. Time with the rats sounds great. Any chance you can actually get folks to stop giving the dogs people food? Maybe J needs more exercise too now that the weather is improving. Felis may be right about stress inducing symptoms which would be better than the alternative. A day of no plans sounds helpful. And yea for getting scrapping mojo back!

Nancy, wonderful to have the BP back down! And congrats on having your page be the new AnnaLift. It is a beauty. I know you're enjoying the hockey playoffs.

Sharon, what a bummer about the glasses! But the crawfish boil sounds heavenly. Hope you find a solution to the glasses situation.

Kay, glad you continue to feel better and it's good you're getting sleep even if the time schedule has shifted. The plastic bag banning is growing and will probably arrive here soon too.

Trudy, I'm so impressed that you'll be showing in the coffee shop! Hope it leads to more sales of your beautiful work. I too hope to see pix of them in place. Hope you find just the right peony and have a great weekend.

Felis, hope the holiday finds you at peace and enjoying celebration.

I haven't been here for a bit but lurking. Honestly my life is really boring and not worth writing about. lol I mean really? Do you honestly want to know I cleaned the balcony yesterday? lol

I have been searching for 'trip' clothes that will be easy to pack and yet look half decent. I need to coordinate them so that I can get the maximum number of outfits from the least amount of items. I have seen Rick Steven's blog about packing which helps.. sort of. The biggest problem will be shoes. I have arthritis in my feet and it hurts to walk so I need cushioned soles that don't look like I am wearing tires.lol Not the most stylish of choices. Maybe I shouldn't be so vain.

I have been trying to get a new groomer for Joey. He is such a shaggy mess and I am sure he is hot with all that hair. The groomer I that has been recommended tends not to return messages so I just might drive up there and chat face to face to get an appointment time then set up reoccurring appointments every 6 weeks or so.

The wind is blowing cold as a witch's heart even though the sky is cloudless and blue. I was wrapped up like it was January when walking Joe this morning. Looks pretty from inside though.

Have a great inspirational day today everyone. May the mojo be with you.

Brrr! It is cold and rainy again. I have three layers on plus fuzzy socks and I cannot seem to get warm. I am finally able to be on my feet to do gardening but the weather sure isn't cooperating. I ended up not clearing out the small area of lavender. The sun was out but it was incredibly windy. Not much point in clearing leaves with the strong, gusty wind. I was thinking that maybe today would be better. So far, no wind, but it is supposed to drizzle on and off all day. Meh.
Not much happened yesterday. Gary and Caitlyn picked up her car from the shop. FIL paid for the repair. But when she went to move it last night, the rearview mirror fell off again. The last time that happened, Gary didn't think it was going to stick to the glass since it is all chipped. So to get the mirror to stick, she might need a new windshield. :faint2: So we are back to square one...

Yesterday was dull, today is going to be dull. My goodness, I really need the weather to cooperate with me.
I have to get out in the yard, I need to get my hands in the dirt. I know that is going to make me feel so much better.
Instead, I get to work on my coupons/shopping list. That doesn't make me feel better :D

Hoping that all of you have a very happy Sunday!

Nancy- that is such great news about your BP! I bet Luther was very happy to be with his friends. If it ever gets warm and dry, I want to take one or two of my dogs to the park. Bet your lilacs smell great!

Sharon- How was the crawfish boil? Messy? LOL
Have you looked at Zenni.com for Rx readers? I have been buying my glasses from them for several years now and have been happy, Caitlyn too. You might be able to get something to hold you over until you can get the insurance to cover them in June.

Kay- Sorry to hear that your weather is the same as ours. A lot of towns are starting to do away with plastic and that is great news. I have tons of totes and canvas bags to use. I hated doing online shopping because they use paper/plastic.
OMG! I am not going to complain about the cold rain here, at least it isn't snow! Did DD#2 end up with that much?

Trudy- you have this crummy weather as well... it better get nice soon, right? I am so excited for you that you have a place to show your painting. The highlight of the last several days has been the rats!

jean- that is so heartbreaking to hear about your nephew. That is sooo very young.
wonderful news for you from the endoscopy!!

Karen- yes! I would love to hear how you cleaned your balcony. It would make me feel like I am not the only one with a terribly dull life! haha!
Hope that you heard from the groomer- give Joey kisses!

xoxo

good morning - it is cloudy and chilly and I don't like it at all. Yesterday was a good rehab day as they up the temperature of the pool water. I had been really chilly but today it is awesome. Made the time more fun. It was also nice in that there were only 3 of us in the pool. Then watched hockey. The USA lost to the Russian team - the Russian goalie was just awesome! The watched as the Stars defeated the Blues and the Blue Jackets defeated the Bruins in 2OT. Today is more hockey. Need to walk Luther before the rains come today.

Chris I totally agree that we need some warm May weather. This month has gone so fast. That is something about the mirror always falling off her windshield. Usually windshield repairs are covered by insurance. Maybe the fact the mirror falls off would mean they would cover it.

Kay I saw that the midwest was getting hit with a spring snow storm. I know in NJ we have had some in early April but not this late! Hope it melts soon. Enjoy the reading. My SIL just sent me a book American Wolf about the reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone. She is going to see them this spring and I saw them a couple of years ago.

Sharon hope the crawfish boil went well. Crawfish is one of my favorite Elvis Presley songs from the movie King Creole.

Trudy that is so awesome about your paintings in the coffee shop! Sorry you too are having bad weather. I saw that Ottawa was having flooding problems hope your son is ok. I have to say I am tired of OT games. On the east coast I am really losing sleep. LOL So far I read there has been an OT game in 7 straight days.

Jean thanks for noticing I am the Anna lift - it is always fun when your page is chosen. That is heart breaking news about your nephew. So young!

Karen your life is not boring! Hope you can find a good reliable groomer for your Joey.

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunday ladies!! I am late checking in here this morning! A beautiful sunny day today, but it was only 3 degrees outside at 7am brrrr!! That's 37 Fahrenheit for our non Celcius people :becky: I am in cleaning mode this morning and will finish off the
cleaning-smiley.gif
as soon as I am off the computer. Already have a load of :washing: in and the dishwasher is also running. If I get my housework all finished in good time then I will go outside to plant my new beautiful red peony. Well I hope that it will be Red!! The last time I thought I bought a red one it turned out to be white :mmph: It is still very beautiful, but I was looking forward to the colour of Red and was a bit disappointed with it! Keep your fingers crossed that this one will be the right colour! Other than a bit of gardening and housework, not much is happening with us today. Oh DH is busy doing the income taxes :gaah: I wonder how much we will have to pay this year???

Chris - Uggh your weather does not sound very good! I got a txt from our son and found out that the new house in Ottawa is not in the flood zone, thank goodness! He will be going to Ottawa on Tuesday to check on everything and get outside cameras installed so they can keep an eye on things until moving day. Poor Eastern part of the country is getting so much rain and flooding and we will be screaming for rain soon it is getting dry again already. Crazy world :loco: I sure hope that you can get outside and get your hands in the dirt very soon! That really sucks about Cait's car, it is hard to drive safely without the rear view mirror. I hope that you can find an inexpensive solution for it! It never ends does it!!

Jean - A very strange week of events for you! So sorry to hear of your Nephew passing! Too young for sure! Glad that your numbers have all improved and that you don't have any more gallstones!! I am going to check out your blog soon to see what beautiful drawings you have been doing!

Karen - Your life is no more boring than the rest of us! I hope that you will be able to find the perfect shoes for your trip and that they don't look like tires LOL. Hope you hear from your groomer too! Not a good way to run a business if you don't return phone calls!

Nancy - Sorry that you are losing valuable sleep time because of the hockey games starting so late for you and then all of them going into OT! Stupid mistakes cost us the game last night, hopefully they will do better next one! As I said our son's home is not in the flood zone, so we are very thankful for that! Hope you get in a nice walk with Luther before the rains hit!

Well the
cleaning-smiley.gif
won't get done on its own. Neighbours dogs have been barking steadily for more than 20 minutes now, we have the worst neighbours ever!! Feel sorry for the dogs as they must be very unhappy to bark so much. No one ever pays any attention to them. Oh well on with my day!

After rain and clouds the sun has just come out but still chilly. Last night we watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. A little way in it seemed so stupid I thought we'd be better off watching hockey but eventually we really enjoyed it. Then we watched the Bruins lose in 2 OT. I think I'm supposed to want the Jackets to win, but would rather side with our friends here.

Chris, what a bummer about Cait's rear view mirror. Since it fell off again, G must be right about it not sticking to cracked glass. Preparing for shopping isn't fun, but has to be done anyway and can be done when the weather isn't nice. Still wish you were out playing in the lavender.

Karen, I guess the shoes I wear look like tires but at least they work and I can walk in them. They take up too much room when packing though. Hope you get through to that stupid groomer.

Nancy, I know we went to bed late last night because DH watches the local NBC news which wasn't on until after the hockey ended. Are you doing that every night? Yikes. How nice the pool was warmer and only three of you. Hope you had a break in the weather for walking Luther.

Trudy, I'll keep my fingers crossed the peony is really red this time. I can imagine a white one being beautiful but still disappointing if you thought it would be red. Our new rhodos are getting ready to bloom and sure hope they are the right colors. Sounds like your usual busy weekend with all the cleaning and stuff. Hope it warms up and we'd love to send you some of our rain (at least we didn't get snow here!)

Wishing you all sunshine or maybe chocolate. :choclove
