Guess what? It snowed here yesterday!! Lie, a lot too. None of it stuck but it was not nice at all watching it flying through the air. Blech!!!!!!
(Nope, this is not a belated April Fool's joke either!)

Let's breathe in some sunshine today. Deep breaths of yellow light... in and out. Feel it warming up your body. And again...
Awesome!

yesterday, I have come to the realization that I am a naturally lazy person. Lazy and unmotivated. We have been at home for a month and I have done nothing. My house is a mess. I have projects that I was planning on doing even before everything went sideways. And what am I doing? Working on online puzzles! Sheesh. I am beyond aggravated with myself that at the end of every day, it feels like it is a waste.
I am trying to get better about writing a to-do list but I can't seem to get it together long enough to tackle anything bigger or more complicated than vacuuming or making my bed.

Can someone please tell me how to get past this?

I have a semi-active day today, relatively speaking. Cait is driving me to the FP at 10 then I need to get that unpacked and shower before my parents get here at noon. I would love to get the patio swept and some cushions on the chairs so they can at least sit while we shout through the windows. LOL
But after they leave, any takers on what I will end up doing the rest of the day? :mmph:

Sorry for the grumbling a bit today. I am very confident that once I am better organized and force myself to get things done, that will help my mental state.

My gratitudes:
-seeing my parents today!
-the sun is shining
-my dad decided to NOT go out fishing today. Today is Opening Day and fishing is allowed as long as you are socially distancing. My dad emailed me that he knows it will be too busy on the streams today so he is going to wait a while. He finally gets it!!!!

xoxoxo!!!

Kay- were you able to putter around outside a bit yesterday? I am sorry that you are getting cold weather as well. No buds on our trees just yet but I hope soon.
Good luck to DD that her house sells quickly.
I am sending good thoughts that your friend's family recovers quickly and that she doesn't contract it at all. wonderful news that you seem to be doing well and that the meds are settling in. Thx for the Clorox info!

Trudy- Did the kids end up with any snow sticking? It was disgusting enough just to see it. Yummy for some more wine being prepped. haha, I know that *look.* But you are the artist, you should be able to make the call on colors. :D
Thanks for liking my kooky family stories. I know how truly lucky I am. Caitlyn has several trans friends and they have varying degrees of acceptance within their homes. My heart is so concerned for the ones that don't get any acceptance or as you said, have abusive parents.
I have read a few articles like that one (TFS!!) and I tend to agree that it is very unlikely to get it from packaging. OTOH, the guidance and science have changed so dramatically in just the last few weeks, that I am doing the "better to be overdone than under."

Jean- Yesterday was a good day for baking. (too bad I didn't do any LOL)
Glad that your back unkinked a bit, I hope it stayed that way.
I enjoyed scrolling through the artwork- but I didn't see Black Horse. I will have to keep looking.

Felis- Jean your bread is famous:) I still need to try it! maybe that is what I can do this afternoon. You are very lucky that your mom can cut your hour. Mine is a mess already!
One of the states made a rule to social distance but going to other family members' houses was OK. That makes NO sense!
hehe, yup... Caitlyn is silly. Enjoy being outside with the cats today!

Hugs to all of you!

Morning O-zies!! Cloudy this morning, but I am hopeful that the afternoon will be sunny again. I got a bit of a sunburn yesterday as we sat outside and had a nice visit with the In-Laws. It was a lovely warm day, however the breeze off of the lake was cool, so we moved to the back yard where the house protected us from the wind. Everyone felt a bit awkward at first say "Happy Birthday" to FIL and not being able to give him a hug  But we soon settled in our chairs and got into some good conversation. After 2 hours we thought we had better leave as the sun was hiding behind some cloud and MIL looked like she was getting cold. So we said our good-byes and threw virtual hugs and kisses. Poor MIL cried as we were leaving (that never happens). I am sure she was wondering if we would every be able to touch again. So I think that FIL had a good 86th Birthday despite the crazy circumstances! We got home and had left over pizza that I had put in the freezer last week. Sat out on our upper front deck and waved to the neighbours who were all out enjoying the lovely day. Today DH and I will try to tackle some yard work, I will trim the ground cover on side of the driveway and he will power wash a few more things and get rid of the green yuck!

Chris - It sounds like you had the same weather as our kids in Ontario yesterday, the snow was flying around, but never really stuck. I know that you think you are being lazy, but it is the way most of us are feeling these days! I think that you just have to get yourself going on something and just tackle one thing each day, you will be surprised at how much you do get done! I hope that you can have a good visit with your parents today! Is your porch big enough that you could all sit outside and still be distanced from each other? Or could you all sit out in the yard? We were very far apart from one another yesterday and sometimes had to yell to be heard LOL. Hope you get what it is needed from the FP today! You are right it is better to go overboard with the disinfecting of the groceries, better to be safe than sorry! Enjoy your time with your Mom and Dad today! Good decision on your Dad's part to not start the fishing just yet!

Jean - I spotted your Dark Horse painting right away! How fun to be a part of this exhibition! I think that your bread sounds so yummy and I might have to try baking it for my DH, I might sneak a piece too LOL. It is funny that I am not finding that I am eating more these days, however much less active and really missing my lap swimming! Hikes would be so beautiful right now too, but there are far too many people going on the hiking trails right now and it would be impossible to not be distant from them. So I stick to our area and cross the road if someone gets too close. I hope that you can find lots of joy in your baking, but I know that the daily decision of what's for dinner is a drag!!

Felis - Your pages for Joanne's challenge have been wonderful!! Your journaling is getting better and better! Wasn't Joannes page about the Jean's bread amazing! How fun to know that this recipe has been shared around the world and that she was inspired by your page! I am glad to hear that he sun is shining and the birds are singing in your part of the world! Wish I could send some to our kids in Ontario as they are still having rain and cold temps :mmph: Hope you will continue to enjoy good weather and thanks for the Easter Wishes!!

Ok things to do before we head outside , empty the dishwasher, put in some :washing: and make some breakfast, as DH is being a sleepyhead and is still in bed! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

I am ever so much better today. For one thing it is a beautiful, sunny day, though chilly. But the really good thing is that I got things done yesterday and one really paid off. A mailing list of credentialed genealogists was filled yesterday with folks sharing the work they've accomplished or are doing during the stay-at-home. I was overwhelmed by it as I hadn't even done much with a 4-page family history newsletter I meant to send in March. But decided to get busy on it so it will be an Easter gift. Also one genealogist commented that they were getting better responses to messages to DNA matches. One of the pieces in the newsletter is about DH's new match to a man in Switzerland. I had meant to message the son who manages the account, so actually did that and this morning got a lovely reply! DH and the other man are only 5th cousins, but they have a well documented tree back to a younger brother of one of DH's ancestors. Now the son is waiting for the state archives to be open again so he can look at the records. And I finally thought of something meaningful to me to scrap for Joanne's challenge day 5.

Meanwhile I read a blog post you really should check out. Some so funny I laughed, but a dark side to it in a way. The Influence of the Great Depression and How It’s Saving Us Right Now by Roberta Estes at https://bit.ly/2XqeGxR.

Chris I love the sunny yellow! Thinking of you and your parents getting to at least see one another. If you're still hugging inside the house, give Cait one from me as she does give us smiles a lot. About not getting anything done, see above. I have been struggling too. But whatever you do or not, it's OK!

Trudy, I knew it would be a good thing for FiL's birthday. Have fun working outside today and take care from the sun.

Felis, what are we going to do after Joanne's challenge? It has been a real boon.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it tomorrow!

Grateful for so much today (see above!)
sunshine
birds (we still have juncos here so it isn't summer yet)
a reply from Switzerland
a new puzzle (a Joan Miró painting)
the blog post (link above)
and always you here at the O, even more so that you looked at the exhibit on IG!!!

Hey ladies. Letting you know that life has me once again evaluating my schedule and scrapping needs, which led to me to realize that I love chatting with you all but I wasn't scrapping much so it is time to step down from the CT and let someone else step into my shoes that can give more time and enthusiasm to the duties. I will be visiting and chatting, just not from the CT side of things.

I'm trying to keep busy today. My great grandbaby is coming today and it is so sad that we can't be there. But most importantly, I pray that Renee and baby stay healthy in the hospital and come back to their home safely. I hate that I will only get FB/phone pics of her for awhile but nothing to be done about that, that's the way of the world right now.

Tomorrow we are doing a drive-by to drop B's Easter stuff in the driveway and wave at her. Maybe I can take a pic of her from afar but it'll only be a 5 min visit as we aren't supposed to be there at all.

Don't want to chitchat today but will be back soon.

It has been a busy day... Got my shower early and put hair up in rollers rather than just blow-dry it. The BD doesn't give much lift to the hair now that it is getting longer [4 months since the last haircut... usually get it every 6 weeks] so bit the bullet and rolled it. Think it will do for a few days now.... and where did I put my plastic shower cap??? LOL  LOL I got 3 loads of laundry done yesterday and am finishing up the other loads today. DD#2 called to chat for a bit, then DD#3 called to say that her hubby was coming down to pull/spray the weeds in the front yard. I am so fortunate to have their help. He worked out there for a couple of hours. Looks really good so shouldn't get a notice from the HOA [Home Owners Association] about the weeds.

Noticed that I have new neighbors moving in next door. Wow... that house was only on the market for a few weeks and now the new people are moving in. Looks like they have some pre-teens and teenagers. Keeping my fingers crossed that DD#2's house sells quickly too.

I spent a bit of time this morning making some Chicken-Fruit salad. Had some grapes I needed to eat up and that sounded wonderful. It only took about an hour to put it together but the clean-up took almost as long since I chose to hand-wash everything as the bowls/pans/lids were too big for the dishwasher. Didn't have any celery so chopped up an apple instead. Think this time with shortages all over, the cooks will be substituting with what they have and may find some wonderful recipes that way. Now I am ready for a nap. Stamina is not as good as it was so need to rest a bit more right now.

Hi it is Sat evening and I am finally getting to the O. Friday was interesting as we decided to walk downtown with Luther just to see what if anything was open. Well turns out our favorite bread store was open and allowed customers as long as had face covering and only one person in store at a time. Well we got pepperoni bread so good, scones and they gave us dog treats as we had Luther. We did not bring masks but I had my scarf so used that. We had a really long walk so that was nice. In the afternoon Anna Aspnes had a class where she gave critiques on pages and she used it to raise $700 for feeding the hungry. Learned a lot and more motivated now to get back to scrapping. There are two games from the 2012 Devils run to the Stanley Cup that I like to rewatch one is the 2OT game 7 against the Florida Panthers and the OT game against the Rangers in the conference final. Both games Adam Henrique scored the game winning goals. Well the local station was showing the Florida Panther game. Well I stayed up to watch and they fit all the games into 2 hrs so a lot of the game is missing but that was okay as I just wanted to see the goals and the OTs. Well they ended the broadcast with the end of the first OT and then went to an Islander game. What! Then I went to Twitter and there was MSG showing the Henrique goal and saying how cool. I left them a nasty note asking if this was a joke. Well LOL I kept getting all these likes from other Devils fans who were not happy. I rarely post on Twitter but Devils hockey will get my to tweet. But the good thing is that they promise that the replay tonight will show the winning goal so I will watch again. Today was awesome as my DH was up early and made banana bread. He made 6 loaves and all that is left is 1 loaf as he gave two to each of his sons. They are that good. Got in a short walk with Luther as he is limping. Poor baby must be walking too much. Have not cooked as the both breads are filling my munchie needs, sweet and salty.

Chris I was thinking to that I am getting less done now that I have more time. There is just a lethargy not knowing what is coming or how long it will last. Glad your dad did not fish. We have been seeing fishermen out already. We got no snow but I am really worried about this storm that is coming on Monday. I hate storms with wind especially when the rain has loosen the soil. Hope you had a great conversation with your parents.

Kay you are very lucky to have such help around. Glad you are feeling so much better. Rest when you need to. That was a lot of laundry. Interesting that you are having neighbors move in. I would think that people are not moving about. Sure hope your daughter's sells fast!

Trudy glad you had such nice weather. We had sun but lots of wind. That seems not fair that Ontario is getting snow. Glad it is not sticking. Sounds like a special way to celebrate your FIL birthday. I think it is not surprising your MIL cried as I think we are more emotional. Hope you got wine started and green washed away.

Rae congrats on becoming a great grand parent. How special. Do you know if girl or boy? It is the pits to not be able to visit but at least you will be able to see photos! Sorry you felt you need to give up CT but I do remember the time I was on one they are time consuming. Have a good 5 min with B.

Jean that is really interesting news to get a reply back from Switzerland and to have another relative on your family tree. I can not imagine who large that tree is! We still are seeing a few remaining juncos. Glad your weather was good.

Felis hope your weather is good and have fun scrapping!

Grateful for a DH that loves to bake!
Grateful for walk in the sun
Grateful for you all!

Happy Sunday and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate! I am not religious but I will take it as a day of rebirth and new life.

Yesterday I wrote that I am a lazy person and I still stand by that. But I tried very hard to not be lazy and I felt much better at the end of the day. Sadly, we went to the FP but it was closed. I guess that ran out of food earlier than they expected. :( But I am still well-stocked for the most part.
Since we got home quickly and I didn't need to disinfect anything, I ended up cleaning and vacuuming downstairs. That made me feel like I got something done. Plus I made a yummy dinner- asparagus with garlic lemon butter over farfalle.

The visit with my parents was so nice but it left me sad for a little while afterward. But they looked good and sounded like they were coping well. My mom called later in the day and that sort of reset my mood with it.

Today I am going to steam clean the carpets after I catch my breath. Nope, not from coughing but from *laughing!!!* My kids are insane! And the best. I won't say too much about what they did because LO will be happening at some point. But they were able to get the Easter Bunny to visit the house last night and Gary and I had an egg hunt this morning. The kids left filled plastic eggs and an Easter basket for each of us. To give you an idea of what they filled the eggs with-- some buttons, an eraser, Cheerios, a battery. I have not laughed so hard in a long time (not counting when we played Cards against Humanity last week. :D)
They are so fricking funny!! I love them so much.

I have to get some breakfast and get cleaning. Enjoy the day and hope that your Easter is a happy one!

Sorry for short personals...

Trudy- the visit with your ILs must have been nice even though MIL was sad when you left. I felt the same, when will I get to hug my parents again?
My porch is very small, you couldn't fit a Mini Cooper on it so we had to shout through the windows.

Jean- so happy that you had a better day. Good for you for getting so much done with the newsletter. Even accomplishing one project at a time is cause for celebrating! I am going to read that blog post after I am done with the rugs. I will give Cait a hug too

Rae- Congrats on the baby!!!!! Are they keeping moms and babies for 48 hours or with they release her early as long as she's feeling up to it? Please share pics when you get them.
Sending you hugs and love and strength as you get through this. xoxo

Kay- You were very busy yesterday. How nice of your SIL to help with the weeds, hope that the HOA relaxes the rules at this time. Yup, the recipe that I made last night should have had feta in it, but none was in the house so I cooked it a bit differently with lots of parmesan instead. Good that you are listening to your body and rested.

Nancy- What a great score in getting the bread. That is so wonderful that Anna raised so much money. As you read from me, the FPs are struggling and it really makes a difference for people like me.
Sorry that the hockey games getting screwed up the best part! I know how you feel about not knowing leading into lethargy. I hate that we all know how that feels right now. The ground is so soft and we have lots of dead trees behind us :(

I am nervous about the storm tomorrow too-

Very short pop-in.... guess I over-did it a bit yesterday as I am feeling very tired today. Going to pay attention to the body and just rest and read... and maybe take a nap. Weather is getting colder with winds kicking up. They were using that "Sn***" word for tomorrow. Hoping it is only up on the mountains not down here in the valley. Dug out a sweatshirt jacket to wear today... and may have to use one of my winter PJs tonight.

Sharon... keeping your little one in my thoughts and prayers.

It was very rewarding yesterday to complete the newsletter and send it out. It only goes to a few family members, but this was something I intended to get out in March. Two more only get it in print, so will mail those tomorrow. I also got day 5 of the challenge done in a way I like. Today is pretty quiet. Tomorrow will be our 52nd anniversary. Normally would go out somewhere nice for dinner, but plan to have something really good at home.

Chris, at least you got to visit with the parents even if distanced. Nice of mom to call later too. Look forward to a LO of the fun with kids. Enjoy the day and whatever you get done.

Kay, nice to see you able to pop in. Hope you have a peaceful day with lots of calls with the family.

Sharon, that sure is a little baby, but what progress!

Nancy, I can imagine how outrageous it was when they didn't show the rest of the game! Given the probable audience for a vintage game, it probably angered lots of viewers. Hope Luther is better and not getting too much walking in.

Rae, it will be a shame that you have to limit responsibilities here, but please keep chatting with us. We would really miss you (and did back there for a while.)

Trudy, Felis, and all, hoping you're having a good day.

Happy Easter everyone. Still no baby, they tried to induce her yesterday but didn’t happen so later today they will try again. This baby girll doesn’t want to come out. My GS is allowed to be with her but the ward is empty other than a few staff.

We’ll go see B for five minutes as we wave at her from the driveway and drop off goodies.

No Easter dinner.just keeping it quiet and having a casual dinner later.
