When I was on a PC, I had an awesome little program by TumaSoft which I used to preview my brushes. I miss it so much, but don't see anything in the APP store to replace it (no...not available for Mac). I've Googled and found a couple possibilities, but I just don't see much talk about them, and wondering what Mac users recommend:

ABR View. Seems to be free, but not as straight-forward to use as

Brush Pilot. This one has a free version that will allow only 5 brushes in any set. The full version is $25.

Something else?

Oh yes Nancy you're right there is a version for the Mac but the price has doubled!

Well now, that's not so bad!!! I was thinking $100 or something!!!! I didn't look at the price.

Again, thank you Nancy, for pointing me to the Mac viewer from TumaSoft. Bought it. Installed it. Using it. It was NOT easy to install, and didn't have straight-forward instructions. It came as a ZIP file, of course, but it had a .air extension. I finally figured out that I needed to download a program that would unzip .air files. But I am now a very happy camper...able to see my brushes before deciding which set really has the (for instance) group of birds I want.

I use Brush Pilot, which I got on sale. I like it a lot, but am not sure it's worth $25. If a Mac user wants to quickly view the contents of a single brush set, there's BrushView QuickLook Plugin <http://brushviewer.sourceforge.net/> - a free BrushView Quicklook Plugin that lets you peek inside an individual .abr (Adobe brush) file. It only works on the older .abr files (brushes less than 2500 px - chokes if any of your brushes are greater than 2500 px). You will need to view your brush set on a dark background in order to see the brush size, however - that's Apple's fault. I made do with ABRView (free) <https://web.archive.org/web/20160730113932/http://www.easyelements.com/abrview.html> until I got Brush Pilot on sale; ABRView works to a point - it requires Java and has a balky, awkward file navigation system that froze not uncommonly on my Leopard-running computer - and you need to know where your brushes are beforehand. The link takes you to an Internet Archive page. I have had far fewer problems with ABRView crashing since upgrading to Yosemite. Both Brush Pilot and ABRView can export to png, which is handy if you're using PS CS5 and below when you get a set of brushes containing one(s) greater than 2500 px - you can "fix" a set by resizing the brushes to <= 2500 px. Thanks for the Breeze link - I could use a preset viewer for things other than brushes.

Thanks Hoodsmom. As my previous posting mentions, I'm using the TumaSoft version for Mac, but this may help someone else. The TumaSoft version for Windows is better than the one I now have, but it was worth the $20.
