Hi all

Am about to start a personal blog and wanted to know if I am allowed to use designers work on my page i.e header and background. I of course would give credit. Not sure what the rules are on this. I imagine its fine as I am not distributing or selling.

Any help would be great.

I have a blogger site for my work blog but have been reading people's posts and type pad seems to be very popular. What are the top reasons people prefer it?

Hi Janina and welcome to OScraps. :)

Unfortunately that is not a simple question. Designers don't all allow blog use and you will need to contact the designer you wish to use to ask for permission.

If you go to the designer gallery here:
https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=949
Click on the designer you wish to use, you will find their terms of use. If they don't address the blog issue, then you can email them and ask via the email provided in that gallery.

Although I would have loved to use some O stash stuff for my blog template, I did find a site that has pretty cute templates for free. Then it was less to worry about with Terms of Use. She might have some to purchase too. It's "Simply Fabulous Blogger Templates" I'm not sure if they can be adapted to use on other blogging platforms.

:) Definitely check Terms of Use. Some designers will allow it and others will not. To be on the safe side, if the TOU's are confusing or not clear enough, just shoot the designer an email. :)
