Hello aArtists!

It’s time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 07.10.20 by 8:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: Each Saturday the AnnaTeam posts one creative page from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

If you’ve never challenged yourself to an AnnaLift—just do it!
If you’ve never posted or shared your AnnaLift—just do it!
If you have time to leave some love for someone in the gallery—do it too!
(Your kind words may inspire and encourage someone!)

Please post your art in this thread and link to the Anna Aspnes gallery to win the $5 giftcard.

THIS WEEK WE ARE LIFTING:

Circles: An Art School Project by zlemon
https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=231

Like the beauty and harmony of music without words, zlemon has created a masterpiece of abstraction. zlemon has painted a series of repeated circles that flow across the canvas. The circles capture our attention as they are varied and pulsating. They have a playful life of their own. Some of the circles seem symbolic of life itself with delicate stretching arms. The organic circles contrast to the pale vertical lines of the ground. The ground has been pushed to a neutral tone, but colors of vivid orange, red, and turquoise are developed in the layers. Pale stains hold the layers in suspension while the paint is splattered and splashed and dripped. The beauty of this artistry is that zlemon speaks of art in a pure form-a dynamic visual language of lines, shapes, color, repetition, and harmony.

Thank you, zlemon, for sharing your inspirational design and artistry.

IDEAS TO INSPIRE: Use ONE or MORE of the following in your AnnaLift layout.

  • Repeat images or elements from your memories to create movement and balance.
  • Experiment with a neutral color scheme or try a monochromatic with bold accents.
  • Layer and color brush marks for an abstract digital painting or create a personal background for your memory keeping.
  • Use transfers and paint strokes for depth.
  • Add a groups of elements like frames, stitchez, artsy strokes, or buttons for repetition and unity.

Thanks, Nancy! I'm delighted you selected my art. I hope everyone has artsy-fun with this lift. I always pretend I'm in kindergarten when I do an abstract—I just splash everything on a page. It's very freeing and fun.

Belongs here... This was a wonderful fun lift. I hope everyone tries it and has as much fun as I did.

I tried to use most of the prompts, but especially layering and coloring brush marks for an abstract digital painting. Salty Living is a favorite of mine and contains a great landscape type brush that I've repeated along with the new painted landscape images that I like very much. It doesn't look much like the wonderful inspiration, but does work from it.

A newly painted mural in our neighborhood gave me a great opportunity to play with color and circles.

Kinda interesting to lift your own art. I went with repetition and LOTS of transfers, stains and splatters. Thanks for hosting Nancy!
