So, you may have heard we're having a bit of trouble with excess water at the moment over here on our wee small island stuck on the edge of the Atlantic. I may even have moaned about it here:

But we are lucky - our house has not flooded, only the garden. Some poor souls have been under water for 6 weeks now, and according to yesterday's paper, only 57,000 households STILL don't have any electricity (and they call this a first world country!).

My own little issue has been our internet connection; the cables were flooded by rising groundwater (or something like that, I'm not sure I fully understood the frankly appallingly written apology we got), causing us to loose internet for 4 days - IN THE MIDDLE OF LONDON!!! It's not even like we live in the sticks! So no TV, no home phone, no internet and worst of all - no Oscraps.

I've missed you all and am horrified that you've managed to create 4 pages of new posts since I was last able to log on - how am I going to get through all of those?!! And thank you for your good wishes to us Brits in Ona's post - lovely to read.

I would never have thought that you were having internet issues in the heart of London!! Glad you're safe and didn't have your house flooded.

Welcome back ;)

As irritating as no internet is - I'm glad you're safe and sound and that your house didn't get flooded :)

Like all the others, so glad it was only Internet and garden but NOT the house. We have more snow than we know what to do with, but we've dealt with that before. Flooding is something else! Just wishing we all had lovely weather.

Oh Selena, that has been horrible for you and your country. I cannot imagine living for 6 weeks without power. 4 days w/o internet is just brutal as well.
So glad that you are safe and hopefully drying out. I am worried about the flooding we will have here as our 2 feet of snow melts with the rain coming up but that is still nothing comparable.

Looking fwd to seeing you back on the boards!

Oh Selena, I am satisfied that only your garden is flooded. Here also, we suffered a lot from some water, but as you only my poor garden suffered, but there are many damages in the region :-(.

Nature becomes mad :-(

Soo glad that other than your garden, you and your family are okay. <hugs> Sounds scary but wow, what a story you'll have to scrap down the road.
