Let's celebrate MUSIC!! For this first challenge, I would like you to create a layout about one of the songs that reminds you of your childhood. This can be about the first time you heard the song, the person who would sing it to you, the way the song makes you feel...whatever you feel like sharing :beatingheart: For me, one of the first songs that comes to mind is Bing Crosby's "Swinging on a Star" :cloud9:

THE RULES:

♥ Use 50% of Joyful Heart Designs products. You are welcome to mix and match with any other designer here at Oscraps :beatingheart:
♥ Please credit all products that were used in your layout, and be sure to list which Joyful Heart Designs products you used.
♥ Post your layout in the Joyful Heart Designs gallery and then come back here and post the link to your layout.
♥ The deadline to complete this challenge is 12am midnight CST time August 31, 2023.

I will be choosing THREE winners who will each receive a $5 coupon to use in my store :heartpumppink:

Oh how fun, Jenn!! We've never done a challenge quite like this and I love music - I need to think - from childhood, that will be interesting. That puts a different spin on the challenge. :busy1: I can't find a "thinking emoji". Thinking, thinking.

I love the O!

At home we had a radio and record player in a piece of furniture. My mother liked to hear French music - Adamo, Georges Moustaki, Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy ...
We also had records from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones…

Oh, we had one of these, too. I JUST saw a meme on Instagram yesterday - I wish I'd kept it. It said "Who remembers these, but the one in the picture also had a bar in it.

I don't think they had music when I was a kid. :hiding2:
JK, we did. The music was on spinny black circles.

How far back into childhood do you want us to go? Elementary school age? Teen years?
I am going to borrow Cheryl's thinking emoji: Thinking, thinking.

:D
I was a weeeee little one when I had the Bing Crosby sung to me repeatedly :heartpumppink:

editing to add that there is no age requirement... any time in your childhoood :heartpumpred:

HooRAY!! Thanks for this challenge!!
We were recently listening to Chris Cross- memories!!! I didn't really get started with music til early teens. Before that I was climbing trees, reading on the fire escape, trapsing through the woods along the river!! :D :D :D I think maybe Jackson 5 was the earliest band for me?

When I first read this, I was thinking of Kris Kross...in highschool, my best friend and I loved the song "Jump Jump"!! :rotfl: Thankfully, I went to go and check spelling and discovered the Christoper Cross you mentioned....YES!!! SO many good songs from him!! His higher voice seems so effortless and is beautiful :lovey3: I think "Think of Laura" is my favorite of his :beatingheart:

As far as music being introduced in child hood, I lived with my sweet Nana & Popa and two Aunts for several years when I was born, so I was exposed to music early on, but I also had people singing songs to me...Nana would sing to me while she was bathing me, feeding me, etc. One of her favorites was "Chickery Chick"...really, that SHOULD be my favorite song...that is what I heard the most often...and I also ADORE my wonderful Nana SO much :lovey3::heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumppink::heartpumppink::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

This was fun to make. The different collections, elements all flowed together so well and really fit in with the retro vibe! I went with the Jackson 5 because I listened to them in 4th grade- so that was the earliest. Songs I'll Be There, & ABC.
