Not only different birds daily, but also evidence of refuge management as we watched water levels closely. One morning a controlled burn had taken out the grasses where we had hoped to again see sandhill cranes we'd seen the day before. We'll go back because always unique photos.
Each day at the refuge brought a unique mix of birds, and Monday was the first day we saw cinnamon teal ducks. It was the last of four record-breaking warm days in the western states, and we were lucky to have beautiful weather for our whole trip. Of course we planned to return.
