I'm looking for a replacement for Linotype font explorer on Mac - FontBase looks like a possibility, but I can't tell from the website if it creates character maps without paying for extra features. Can anyone who uses it tell me if it does? Thnx.

if you go to Anna Aspnes's website and look for tutorials by her creative team you'll find lots of suggestions. I've learned a lot there, especially from @Adryane. Some of her creative team members also put process notes in their gallery descriptions, which can be very helpful.
