Robin, thanks for this fun challenge - I went a little overboard! I found the calendar freebie first and then started looking at my freebie stash and then off we went,,,,,,,,,lol.
Cheryl, for your comments; like I told Tracy, it makes me feel better about the struggle.
That paper set from Joyful Heart (Jen) are some of my favorites! I love the quote about taking a walk with a turtle; I would have a hard time doing itty bitty steps with the turtle..lol!
Tracy, thanks so much for your exuberance; it makes me feel better about struggling to put this LO together! I love the grunginess and textures as it is my fav way to scrap. I think you are ready to go grungy next week - wanna take the challenge??
Amy, congrats on the well-deserved Standing O! I really like the symbolism of the roses to demonstrate Fortitude; I don't think I would have thought of that.
Tracy, I like the quote and the broken chain symbolism; the red color says "Here I am and I won't back down". Which then reminds me of Tom Petty:
No, I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down
Wow, Vicky, what a moving layout and remembrance of you and hubby!
My mom had similar memories of my Dad during his last couple years. She used to be able to get dad up but after a year or so, she had to call the paramedics to get him up off the floor. They lived in a small VT town and after...
Susie, love the word label "some moments echo for years" - have never heard it but it is so expressive! I'm going to use this quote for a LO about a best friend who passed a couple years ago tragically and too young. Tears of joy & gratitude.
Cheryl, I like the quote "Once upon a time she saved herself. The end." and those butterflies making their way up the page to go off into the wild blue yonder. Wonderful LO!
Week 2 in the books - had tough time getting this LO together. I knew from the get go it was going to be the turtle and the quote, just not the rest of it!
Techniques: Grouped the FB and added photo of mom, also made 3 copies using screen, soft light, and darken (with only screen and soft light photo was too washed out)
