On our recent trip to the Galapagos we realized that the zodiac drivers and the naturalists all used clothing as additional sunscreen so they didn't have to use so much chemical sunscreen. They wore long sleeves, hats/hoodies, gloves, sunglasses, and face masks to protect their skin from the...
Adorable page. In February my daughter's family was in the DC area visiting our middle daughter. One of the granddaughters wanted the ruby red slippers after seeing replicas in one of the gift shops.
Just home from a trip to the East Coast that included a couple of days in Williamsburg. Perfect colors for this challenge

One more bird from our Galapagos trip. I wasn't going to create a page since I already have a flamingo page from a zoo trip. However, I noticed on my original page I'd journaled "native to South America" That was all the inspiration I needed to create a page for the flamingo I saw IN...
This was a new technique for me. I have this OLD negative of my granddad's car that has been waiting far too long for me to find a camera shop to turn it into a print. Seems like with all the digital it's sometimes hard to find someone who can work with heritage negatives.
Anyway, I...

Think I am ready to move on from Galapagos/Peru bird photos but thought I'd create a page about my bird books and how they are generally organized. My first year I organized the pages alphabetically but from then on I organized them chronilogically.

I chose to lift my own butterfly by creating a composite and then adding it to a collage. When I was almost done I added a pipevine swallowtail caterpillar for the body of the butterfly reinforcing the quote.

The red footed booby was the last one we saw and only on the island of Genovesa. Again because the animals of the Galapagos don't view humans as enemies or predators one can get amazingly close to them which makes for some great photo opportunities! When I'm so used to birds flying away the...
We saw the nazca booby almost as often or maybe even more than the blue footed booby. Galapagos was a birders' dream come true because the birds sat still while one photographed them!!

AEdwards remember this layered template
The blue footed booby was the first of 3 we saw in the Galapagos On Floreana we saw a male and female make an egg sitting duty exchange; it was fascinating the ritual they went through before actually changing places. Great experience!
I used the same template for all 3 of the booby birds...
About the iguanas..... If you're not a fan of them, don't worry. Neither am I. I just felt we had to have some photos of them since they were such a part of our trip and what we saw! I can tolerate the little lizards....we have some in our backyard here in N California....notice I said...
All I can say is it was the Galapagos and the islands are so known for the iguanas and lizards. Everyone has a reason to travel to the Galapagos...
