I also live near Detroit (I was born there). I've been to Frankenmuth more times than I can count, but I've only been to Mackinac Island a few times, and into the UP once. I'm not much of a traveler, lol, but there is a lot of natural beauty here!
We had 99% totality where I'm at in Michigan so it got eerily darker for a few minutes, but I was working and hadn't gotten any glasses, so I didn't go outside. I'm told the difference between 99% and 100% totality is quite dramatic.
What beautiful flowers! I don't think I've ever heard of that variety, but I'll be on the lookout once it warms up here. The treatment of the large photo in the background is stunning. Standing O for you!
