On Wednesday at Bob R.'s feeders it was fairly quiet although we did see a great variety of birds. They came and left more quickly than on other days because they didn't have to wait for their turn to feed. We'd barely focus on a bird and it was one click before they were gone.
I enjoyed making this page. It's a challenge to find just the right elements for a nature page when the collection was designed with something so different in mind. ;)
The trip was so tiring and longer every time, but we'd drive into another world where there are so many birds to see, so many flowers and lush greens while we had just a single flower on our crabapple tree. We'd keep making the trip because we still loved Cave Creek as much as ever.
Thanks for this challenge, Timounette. The cool background photo was a surprise (mistake) at the lily pond in the same photoshoot with the others on my page. And I think it should be fair to make the splashes from the bird its own photo in this case. :D
Tuesday was the kind of day I'd always want to remember when I wanted to look on the bright side of things. Birds splashing in water, baby birds, red flowers, red birds, clear blue sky and morning sunshine. We'd remember a man who didn't like the noise of my oxygen machine, but it was a good day.
On Monday, about 20 miles from Cave Creek, AZ on the New Mexico side, we stopped when we started to see flowers. There were two types of yellow cactus and I also loved the phlox ground cover. We arrived at our cabin around noon, very tired from the second day of 500 miles on the road.
Thanks for this challenge! I used two collaborations from Lynn Grieveson and Rachel Jefferies.
Everything is from their "New Connections" and "Kindness Changes Everything" collections.
Someone wondered what a cactus meant to me, and I thought about it a lot. They survive amazing weather extremes and have flowers as pretty as any orchid or tropical flower. I like having photos to study, too. And each new Jux release lets me try new ideas to mix them in my artwork.
Thanks Adryane. As always, I find I've explored somewhere completely new for me.
:D For this one, I tried about a zillion fotoblends and ended up drawing some lines and making my own mask and an oob.
We joked about being in denial as we moved our September deposit at Cave Creek to May '24. We really didn't know if we could make the trip again, but we gave ourselves some time to figure it out later. When we got home, our front lawn was beautifully graded and ready for new sod.
Thanks for the challenge, Esther. I thought I'd get to this in roughly two weeks, and suddenly it was good enough. It would probably take me another two weeks if I got all fussy about the shadows, and I ran out of time. :D
I was getting ready for iNSD (inter-National Scrapbook Day) and as I looked at new things I couldn't wait until I had trip photos to try a new (to me) idea. Time flew by as the elements I was working with reminded me of those dark moonless nights at Cave Creek, and how I love it.
I'm pretty sure I'd like to combine two collabs and will do it unless I hear otherwise. I'm just going to put this here and hope there's no issue because I won't have wi-fi for the whole week I'm working on my pages.
;)
