This is the last challenge! :partyhorn:
Merry Christmas everyone.
I used ET's mask and at least 50% of image shows. No treatment or coloring of photo. It's probably Michigan, and not in my life except for this challenge, so it won't go in my book. :D
Winter Wonderland
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, In the lane, snow is glistening A beautiful sight, We're happy tonight, Walking in a winter wonderland. Gone away is the bluebird, Here to stay is a new bird He sings a love song, As we go along, Walking in a winter wonderland. In the...
Empathy doesn't solve anything or answer the questions. But I claim it as my superpower and know that when I wasn't going to make it as a small abused child, it saved my life. We need to deal with all criminals appropriately, and be empathetic as we see they are damaged people.
As we made our way out of the park and going through the cone zone the sun was beautiful shining through the trees, and you slowed down when you spotted an elk crossing the road in front of us. I captured those few seconds in a short video, and lighting changed in each frame.
We got the heron as a snow depth gauge, and early Saturday he stood in eight inches of snow. Dry powdery flakes kept coming until about noon, but the walks were cleared. Then Sunday morning as we left for Estes, I loved how handsome he was in his snow coat in the bright morning sun.
We both loved being out early even on very cold mornings, to see the sunrise and maybe some elk, but until that week in late November you hadn't shared my passion for openings in thick ice. I loved the sights and the sounds and was delighted when you got excited about them too.

Thanks for helping me so much to get my pages made! ;)
Again it was very cold and you tried to park in a way I could take photos from the warmth of the Jeep, except for when I needed to hike. I had to get out to see if the sun glow was better at a different angle, but the sun effect was gone and we felt lucky we caught it at all. A special moment.
On Monday there were no elk in the valley. The sunrise was just a soft pink in a hazy sky, but it gave the mountains of the Divide a pink glow. We headed for the Roaring River and for just a moment there was a pink glow on the ice, which we had never seen before. We waited there for more sun.
Things are so beautifully connected. I just love the comfy vibe.
And since I'm generally unable to make all the comments I'd like to make (overwhelmed), I'd like to take this chance to wish you a wonderful holiday season. :xmas6:
Wednesday was the fourth day that there were no elk in the valley, and there were clouds gathering in front of the sun as we turned onto Fall River Road. Such a peaceful place and we don't get tired of it even when it's cold and a bit moody, and the lighting can change again in a minute.
"Deep Peace" by Bill Douglas immediately came to my mind. :praying2: Thanks for the challenge. I admit, though, that I didn't exactly keep my deep peace when I used Photoshop's arch tool to make my words curve! :giggle4:
