Challenge 3: Through The Lens...
I was finally starting to feel better, after a long struggle with side effects from the inhalers. I finally thought I might have enough energy for that long-awaited trip to Moab. But the weather ahead didn't sell us on the long drive, so we changed our destination to Manitou Springs instead.
It was a beautiful Christmas for us. Details about the epic explosion in Russian-occupied Crimea emerged. A 369-ft. warship carrying drones and ammunition, all intended to be used in air strikes on the people of Ukraine, burned for hours, then sank. A perfect culmination of the day.
No question what I'm thinking about. I started with JHD's goldfinch and the clock, then for wordart I went to her "Just Sayin'."
By February 20th, average daylight gain is 3 minutes a day. The goldfinches will be back.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
to all that have spare moments to be...
We rarely saw magpies up close, and almost never in a group. I always knew why Jim drove Dorothy up to RMNP every Saturday, even in winter, when she was 90. Because even on oxygen, sitting inside her truck, she could still connect with so many happy surprises of nature.
Inspired by Joyful Heart's two new products this week. I was amazed at what JHD's grunge paper added to my ATC. The floral design is subtly evident in the upper left, and the 100% white wordart is textured with a subtle wash of color from the paper.
I needed to get this done and checked off my list. Year of the Rabbit, 2023, will go on but the Chinese year seems like old news to me after we get into the new year. I love ViVa's Tuzi, and wanted to pay tribute to all those bunnies I talk to off and on every day from 5am to 7pm. They watch me...
Inspired by Joyful Heart's new Hopes and Dreams Bundle, then 52 Inspirations also released the gnome today. If you need to control everything, maybe 52 Inspirations isn't right for you. I tried it years ago. But now I'm much more go-with-it and it pays for itself many. times. over.
I challenged myself to use a few things in the Cozy Christmas collab that I liked a lot but couldn't imagine how I'd ever use. Mostly giving myself time. To play.
I loved finding snow globe cards with cats climbing on the Christmas tree in 3-D. They were printed with the design on the front and the back and it could stand up. But I had trouble writing the addresses and forming the letters, even more than in other years. It might be the end of cards from us.
I wanted to keep making things with the new collab, and thank all of the designers. Maybe I'll make more ATCs if I have time, and would love if others will join me in the purely RAK thing. Also I shouldn't spend too much work fixing up the ingredient list, so it's what we all know and have seen...
Mount Chapin was directly in front of us as we started up Fall River Road, and the view was even more special because the full moon was setting over it. Then, when we pulled over to stow gear before leaving RMNP, I loved the soft morning sun on the Longs Peak Diamond.
Rules: Photo big, may be masked (I used ET's mask) and at least 50% of image shows. No treatment or coloring of photo. It's probably Michigan, and not in my life except for this challenge, so it won't go in my book.
