Brush Pilot is a standalone app. You don't even need Photoshop installed for it to find and show your brushes. It "works" with Photoshop in that if you use its "install in Photoshop" command, it's supposed to load the brushes you just found into PS. However, that feature doesn't work for me b/c...

The photo treatment consisted of a "grungy paint" layer created with Filter Forge and multiple outline layers.
