My sweet sister-in-law passed away March 16th. She was an avid crafter. My brother brought me quite a bit of yard that she had left from various projects. I picked up my dusty crochet hooks and have been busy making scarves for Christmas gifts. Some of the labels on the yarn are from stores that are no longer in business, i.e. Kmart. It is a walk down memory lane as I picture my sister-in-law, Audrey, buying this yarn and creating things with it. I have not been scrapping quite as much as I have been crocheting. I feel like the things I am making are from me and from Audrey. It's bittersweet,

I crochet a lot in the winter, and (I just have too many hobbies and no time to go to work)
You still have six months to show up your scarves, I'm really curious.

sorry for your loss bless you and your family.
Enjoy the crochet. I can appreciate how bittersweet it is. My father passed recently and I now have his unused art supplies in my room.

Crochet can be quite relaxing and can be used for so many different things. My most recent crochet project was a little soft toy dog.

I am so sorry for your loss, Angela! I will be praying for you. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I hope you will be able to use his art supplies and it can help be a comfort to you.

I have knitted a bit but never learned to crochet. It is on my list of things to do when I retire! :)
I supposedly learned to knit in Girl Scouts but I really don't know how to knit. The headband I made in Girl Scouts kept getting wider as I kept adding stitches. I was so afraid of dropping stitches that I went the other way!:floorlaugh:
